  1. Wonderful! It is classy and colorful and beautiful. I wish you much success. The red and purple caught my eye! I'm still wearing pink, but I can't wait for my redulation!
  2. Got a can of soup in the pantry? Check out how it's written on stuff around the house. There are variations, but generally they are pretty consistent. I have mine on the bottom label with the warning.
  3. Any possibility of just setting up a table at the supermarket on Saturday? Make a poster explaining the sale and the trip. Cash 'n carry, no orders. You have no stress about trying to make more than you can handle...course you have the stress of trying to sell what you have made. It's a thought. I've always got someone trying to sell me something going in or going out. I'm usually a sucker.
  4. You're back! Love 'em. Want more. I have always loved your candles.
  5. Something you might try besides the micro is to pour the first layer and before you pour the next layer pour a very thin coating of the second color. Let that set a bit then pour your next layer. The thin layer isn't enough to be seen but just enough to stop the bleed.
  6. I have a Cozy Up on my desk at work. I'm not allowed to have a candle, so I test all my wickless at work! It has been going 9 hours a day, 5 days a week for 6 months - no problems. I sell a lot at my daughter's school - dorms can't have candles, either. No problems with any of them. Perhaps you just got some that slid past quality control? I'll be watching the ad next week...
  7. I'm sure they were made with wick pins and wicked after they were taken out of the mold. Normally, the hole is small enough that the neck of the wick tabs "grabs" the wax and stay in. Or the warning label on the bottom is sticky enough to hold the wick in. It really isn't too big of an issue because once you burn it one time, that wick will be stuck. I, personally, wouldn't sell them if the wick fell out, but it wouldn't surprise me that a Walmart votive wick fell out.
  8. I have been using HTP and have just started testing a few RRD and one LX. I think the RRD and LX are comperable and both are better than HTP. I gave up on zinc awhile ago. I just couldn't deal with the mushroom.
  9. not in my area...advertised at regular price. I hate when they do that!
  10. Orange De-Solv-it is the greatest! It will even get that dye and fragrance out of your clothes. Found it at Walmart by the oven cleaners. Saved my favorite skirt (I was in too much of a hurry to put on my apron!)
  11. wow! They are all looking good! On that Red Currant (which is trademarked, by the way) try cutting back to 1/2 oz per pound. You might like it better - I know I did.
  12. Mine name is not trademarked but is registered with the state. My lawyer explained to me that since I am small-time it would probably be a waste of money. If someone comes along and tries to use my name, I have the date of registration to prove that I had it first. Of course, I would then have to defend my rights to it. The odds of this happening are slim.
  13. You can label pillars by size, not weight, since that is the common measurement for them. I label in inches and centimeters. Jars and tins are in net weight - the wax, not the wax and glass.
  14. They are pretty cool looking, but the bit in the front is the most marbled. I'm hoping to be able to play some more this weekend. We'll compare notes next week! Keep going!
  15. I haven't tried the 1554, I made hurricanes from 1343 in the past (till I melted one). I got a case of 1260 and I pulled a beautiful hurricane out of the mold this morning. Smooth gloosy finish, very translucent. I found it very easy to work with, too.
  16. Wedding/party places have 6" silver twist ties. I got a bunch when Frank's went out of business. I cut them in half.
  17. Shees! I have 4 photo editing programs and Paint and all I can do is make my logo fade into the background. Help!
  18. Sure - I use Peak liquid dye and the green one had 4 (waay too many), the blue one had 2 (closer) and the black one only had 1 drop. This was all per 11.2 oz of 1343 wax. I picked up a 5x9 loaf pan from the dollar store. It sure made stirring and cooling easy.
  19. Thanks for sharing Sharon....I've done the same thing as Heather and never thought to make it transparent. Hey, Heather, you ain't the only one ... I are puter dumb, too.
  20. Love the marbled balls! The kitty cracked me up. I was expecting a candle kitty - it was a real kitty! too cute.
  21. I get a bag from Old Time Pottery. I wrap 5 in cello wrap like a piece of candy - twisted at the ends. 50Cents for just the pack or a pack free with each burner.
  22. Some things I learned at the Chicago Conference was how to make Bunny's punch and how to make marbled candles. The green (Cuke Melon) was first...not happy. The blue (Vanilla Mint) was second...getting better. Then the black (Black Canyon). Now, I think I got it right. What do you guys think? Thanks, Carmen, it was a great demo!
  23. Henry are you looking for storage or for shipping? I can't help with the bags, but for storage I bust the slabs up and put them in a 5 gallon plastic bucket. Don't know if I helped or not...
  24. It is beautiful! Love the flowers. The only thing I would say is a mirror backdrop so you can see both sides. Wonderful idea and your parents will love it!
  25. Julie, I want to be just like you when I grow up! I love your creativity. These are fabulous. My younger daughter walked by and said, "oh, man! That is not just toying around." (She liked your "dinking", too.)
