Really? I'll have to try that. I love ginger. I had a B&BW ginger body wash that I loved. I put it in a pump and used it as a hand soap in the kitchen. It smelled so strong of ginger and I've been unable to find anything like it.

Go to the grocery store and break a tiny piece off of a ginger root. It is very very strong but I love it. I have purchased 4 different ginger FO's that the suppliers told me were strong and dead on for ginger. All of them were terrible and none of them smelled like ginger. Good luck.

I once made a soap for my brother called Manly Man. It was a blend from Rainbow Meadows. 5 parts Bergamot, 2 parts Lime, 2 parts Patchouli and 5 parts of Sandalwood. It was foul, I mean really foul. I gave it to my brother anyway because I don't care for patch and sandalwood so I thought it was just me. He didn't like it either but he kept it on a shelf for a few months for some reason. One day he picked it up and smelled it and loved it. He immediately called me and told me he changed his mind and liked it. It was too late, I'd thrown the rest of it away several weeks earlier.

Well, that's pretty much directly north of Missoula. That's too far to drive. It would take 4 hours each way, it would be cheaper to pay shipping. It would be good in a pinch for an emergency though.

Missoula is 4 hours from me but so is Whitefish and Kalispell. I'm off of highway 200 and there is very little chance there'd be anything in Heron or Trout Creek.

JokerJen, this isn't the same board it was 5 years ago. It's gone from 50-100 members to 8,484 members. You think with a group this large they are all going to agree, let alone give you kudos everytime you post. I'll tell ya, I've been on this board a very long time and I remember you from before you left the board but when I get online and 3 of the first 5 posts are from you looking for people to tell you you're great and talented just puts me off and I leave that section. I don't look at the galleries anymore because there are 5-6 people that post every freaking thing they make. It's like a "Hey, Look at me, I'm great" kind of gallery and I don't want any part of it.

I doubt it. At the time I was removed from her mailing list all of her oils were $15 and less. It doesn't sound like they're any better than they were back then. Same crap, higher prices.

PixieWick, it seems to me that posting just to up your post count isn't productive and sometimes, the number of responses to a help thread will keep experienced soapers from opening the thread, assuming it's been taken care of. Is this the response you were trying to delete?

It doesn't matter in salt bars. I use bulk sea salt and non-iodized salt but most people just use regular table salt which is iodized. Don't worry about that, (Unless you're allergic)

Have you already made up your lye water? If not, add 4oz of another oil/butter and run it through the lye calc. If you have, well, that's a little harder. You have to re-figure your lye and add or subtract from your solution. Or use your lye water as a pipe cleaner, down the toilet, and then start over.

I'd check ebay, make sure you look at CandleChem. Check both his store and his auctions. He has different prices and I can't remember which was cheaper.

I like to use Fruit Slices, Grapefruit, Bubble Gum and Jamaica Me Crazy. My DS likes all of them.
