  1. I tried, but it came out lye heavy and the scent kinda morphed. It doesn't smell the same. I'll work on it.
  2. Great bunch of soaps there e. I usually like the swirls, but I really like the solid bars in your picture.
  3. I like Cuke/Melon mixed with a little rosemary. It is quite a unique scent. I use 5 drops of rosemary per oz of Cuke/melon.
  4. Go to the top of this page and click on candletech (Top left corner). Then go to almost the bottom of the page and click on the last category ~ Access the archives. On the left side of the screen near the bottom should be a link to cold process soap. That is a walk thru that RobininOR made. Very helpful for a newbie CP soaper. Someone correct me if I gave the wrong directions to the page.
  5. This may not answer your question, but I happened to search the archives this morning for PKO and Palm Kernal Flakes and I found this thread. HTH http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=bathandbody;action=display;num=1108841655;start=10#10
  6. I've been unmolding mine 24 hours later. Then cut them a day or two later, if I can wait.
  7. I have dark lilacs and I tend to make them a medium dark shade. My neighbor on the west has the lighter colored lilacs and the white ones and my neighbor on the east has a verigated variety. I never heard of yellow lilacs. On a hunt now.

  9. Oh no Bev, hope you can save it all. How's yours Trish? Thank goodness it's only been in the 80's here with just a little humidity, maybe 35%-45%.
  10. I think the ribbon should be a little darder or brighter. It kinda blends in too much, at least in the picture.
  11. Thank you. Wow, that second one is very big. I think I'll start on a small scale, like the first link. I don't do much woodworking, this would make a good small project.
  12. Those are great soaps. I thought you changed your logo for soaps?
  13. Does anyone know of a good website with instuctions on making one of these? I used a vegetable peeler today, but the edges are just so uneven. Or maybe a good, inexpensive place to buy one, anyone have one to sell?
  14. Yes, thank you very much.
  15. I know, I know! I should have written this down. Please don't yell at me, but I could always find it when I needed it. Will someone please post the link to suppliers by state? I promise to write it down this time.
  16. Each swap is different. The host will give you all the guidlines in the swap post. If there are 25 participants, then you would send 24 items because you don't need one of your own back. The size of the item, or sample will be given in the swap guidelines. Next time there is a swap, just read the post and see if it is something you are able to do. Be sure that you are willing and able to follow thru with a swap before you say you will do it.
  17. I have a couple of reviews. Moochelle Tea Tree Soap. I've been really interested in Tea Tree lately but hadn't tried it yet. I used this on my face twice a day for 3 days. No break out and the dry patches on my face aren't dry right now. The soap has a lemony or citrusy scent but my Tea Tree EO doesn't smell like that. I like the lemony scent. Glowlite Lizzy's Luxury Bar. I've been using this in the shower. It isn't a bit drying, just a little hard to rinse off with our soft water. LoverPup35 Rebatched Blue Skies. I've been using this at the sink and didn't find it drying for my hands. I'll take it to the shower tomorrow and try it there. That's all I've got for now.
  18. Thanks Lorrie, I've thought about HP, but my oven won't keep a constant temp and the coolest temp is 200.
  19. Thanks, that is a special blend I came up with. I just love it also. I make lotion in it also. I tried to make a cp with it, but messed it up and it is lye heavy. I'll have to work on that one. The scent isn't quite the same in the CP either.
  20. I'm here (kjbrook) if you have any questions about my melted shea butter...lol I don't know if there is a place to post reviews yet. Maybe Meca will let us know.
  21. http://www.candlesandwoodcrafts.com/woodensoapmolds.html I got mine here. The price was very good, and the shipping was parcel post which made the shipping costs less. HTh
  22. I like to make cp but I really want a nice shea butter that sinks in fast, stays fluffy etc. I keep trying to make the perfect shea butter and I will eventually get them right. I'm close as long as I don't have to ship it, then it turns to liquid lotion.
