    Well...I DO get some frosting but usually a week or 2 after they set up. I live in (generally) warm California and I just let them cool naturally, uncovered in my kitchen (its above 70 degrees in there). I pour them at about 155. If I pour much lower I get funky tops and more frosting. HTH.Lili

    I use Evo dyes in 464 and generally don't have a problem getting deep colors...as long as you use enough. I generally don't measure but "eyeball" it. I've never had a problem with them clogging up the wick and I am able to get a nice dark green and a pretty dark red.

    I LOVE the Grapefruit Ginger from the specials page but i have to admit it doesn't sell that well for me! I also like Fir-Clove. I use 100% soy. When I used to use parrafin (way back when), my customers LOVED his China Rain...but I haven't tried that yet in soy.

    I use alot of their oils too but I wait at last 1 week and peferably 2 weeks to test burn. Even then, some oils just don't throw well enough for me. It's hit and miss. I use gb 464.

    When I 1st started out with the 464 i tried Eco's, LX's, HTP's, CD's & RRD's...I use 3" diameter metal tins and found the CD's to be superior in just about every way for me...sometimes i wish there were "in-between" sizes but generally they work really well for me. Depending on the scent, I use CD 10, 12 or 14 for my tins. I am about to start testing the "700 Series" wicks, just to see if they are better. They come in a million sizes! HTH!!!

    I use gb 464 and can't seem to get many of their scents to throw well (hot)for me. I wish more did as they have a great selection of scents and they all smell great oob.

    "I haven't really paid attention to whether there's any difference at all the second time you pour the candle, but yes it should need to cure again." Ouch!!! Then what about wickless candles which reach a full melt pool every time you melt them??

    The only one I've tried of those is Pine & Peel...and I love it. It only has a subtle citrus/cider scent and is mostly pine. I threw well in soy for me. HTH!' Lili

    I have had great luck with most of their oils. They are quick becoming my #1 supplier (using GB 464 wax). Regarding bakery scents....I am burning their brown sugar pecan and it is out of this world delicious!!! It has strong scent throw and the scent smells true to its name...not just syrupy sweet. You can actually smell the pecans. I'm not personally into bakery scents but this one is great!!!

    I've always been confused about these...It looks like they only have a few "sizes" of these available...what if you have a container size that doesn't "fit". Maybe I don't understand how they work...???

    I Test burning ICS "Pine & Peel" and it is quite strong (GB 464 soy wax) and smells great...no "Pine Sol" smell to me!!! Definitely a keeper. I think it could be renamed "Pine & Cider." The citrus notes are subdued..imo. For a more "unusual" scent you may want to try Steve's (candlemaker's Store) "Fir Clove". Strong scent throw in soy and about equal parts pine/clove...I think its great too.

    I heartily agree! I use Evo liquid dyes and I found the melted wax should look really red in the pot in order to get a good orange. I get a good, dark true orange by mixing equal parts red and yellow but it always looks really red in the pot. Its only when I set aside the stirring spoon and examine the hardened drips of wax that I see its orange and not red. Good luck.

    I use GB 464 (100% soy) and I have tried 2 from the "specials" list: Grapefruit & Ginger & Green Apple. I LOVE the Grapefruit/Ginger...it smells great and it has great throw. The Green Apple smells nice but has only decent throw. I plan on trying more from his specials page the next time I need to order. HTH!!

    I just got my 1st order from them a couple weeks ago. And, yes...they took forever to get back to me about my order (confirmation) but once they did and I paid, they shipped it out right away. And the product is perfect. I will be using it for this 1st time this weekend. I'm excited.

    I initially tried the 464 with block /chip dyes and got alot of frosting...when i switched to liquid dye (specifically, EVO dyes) I essentially got rid of 90+% of my frosting issues. I would start there. Good luck!

    Are these warmers actually made out of colored glass or are they spray colored or otherwise painted? Its hard to tell from the pictures on the website. Thanks!! Lili

    No offense taken! Yes...as a matter of fact...I do tell people to sniff the lid but they usually sniff the candle anyway! I also let them know that the hot throw will not be as strong as the cold throw. Thanks!

    I tried Eco's (and others) but ended up using Cd's...But everyone has their own opinion about wicks! If you are having good results with the Eco's you may just want to stick with them. HTH

    I personally have pretty much settled on CD wicks...But everyone seems to have a different opinion on wick. i would buy a few sample packs and do your own testing (which is what I ended up doing).

    I have found that letting candles cure for at least a week seemed to help with my hot scent throw issues. Cold throw is awesome...sometimes too strong!!! Sometimes people sniff my candles and then wince...saying its "too strong"...I have to remind them that it won't smell that strong burning!! HTH.

    So far 3 out of the 4 JS scents I have tested have thrown good to very good for me (I too use the 464). I was pleasantly surprised and still have a bunch more testers to try...I too had read the "mixed" reviews on JS but thought I'd give them a shot since their prices are so reasonable (I live in CA and shipping is murder). I can say that if you use the 464 they are definitely worth a try.

    I pour at 150-160 and use Evo dyes and rarely get much frosting...at least not right away after initial set-up...I get a little later on if there are fluctuations in temperature. I tend to get some also if i pour much under 150. I would try pouring hotter. HTH!!!:rolleyes2
