  1. I tried to have it duped but I didn't have enough in the bottle to get the job accomplished. This was years ago and I coulda cried . . I missed the post with her formulas
  2. I do, I do !!!! I so loved Patticake's original Vanilla Grapefruit before the reformulation. To this day I have never found a replacement quite like it. Actually I just threw the old empty bottle away not too long ago after keeping it for about 5 years. I would sniff it just for the "ahhhh". I know before she closed the formula changed. I participated in a pre-buy once from Old Mill I believe but it was the later formulation and I was so disappointed. I have never found any replacements for her oils. It is disappointing . . .
  3. Adam had posted about the server and the DMCA filings but mods removed it.
  4. I am not sure if this is something that you are looking for but thought I would post. With you being in Washington I cannot vouch for shipping costs from Michigan but it may give you more ideas . . . http://www.greatcandle.com/Wood%20Display's.htm ETA - the site says local pick only. Sorry, shipping isn't an option.
  5. In my parasoy, I am still using the 76* coconut oil. Not much only about 1/2 -1 teaspoon per pound. It may just be me but I find that it indeed does help with jar adhesion when I haven't tempered my wax. I also believe it helps with the HT. My experiences with my wax are that the 76* CO helps to wick with tough "wicker upper" oils. I haven't found that it makes my wax harder, per se, even after months of curing. The CT and HT are improved and it doesn't give the wax a bit of sheen. I wouldn't say greasy. I would think that the CO would be something more so for soy and soy blends than paraffin. As far as the crisco, I tested it as an additive years ago when I was working with paraffin blends but I got extra soot during power burns. It does make the wax softer and more greasy looking IMO than the coconut oil. It is said to help with wet spots but cannot recall if it did or didn't. My testing was with container waxes not votive / pillar waxes. I posted to give you an idea how they behaved in my testing. If you are trying to improve the throw of the 4794 by softening up your wax I'd try crisco first.
  6. Southern Scentsations carries a White Spring Lilac.
  7. I could be wrong but if Adam has access to other software, which is not involved in the dispute, as well as another server he would be able to keep his site going. All his clients websites were set up in the software that the dispute is over.
  8. This person IS NOT a worm, more like a slithering SNAKE ! :lipsrseal
  9. I am one of Graceful Hostings clients and yes this week has been a living hell, not only for myself but for all parties involved. All the client sites have been suspended for what appears to be a vindictive attempt to ruin a fast growing dedicated host whom, may I add, goes way above the norm for customer service. From my point of view this act appears EVIL and completely uncalled for. Graceful Hosting is not to be blamed for this but he and all his clients are caught up in a BAD situation caused by someone who enjoys causing turmoil. Even in my worse nightmares I would have never dreamed one person could continue to haunt several times again and again and again . . .:tiptoe:
  10. Yes, the KY 143 is a higher melt point wax and should help with the tarts smearing in your bags. I use the 2/3 parasoy container blend (not the pillar/votive wax) and 1/3 of the KY 143 for my tarts. I pour into the foil liners. If pouring into the tart molds you may have to test which ratio works best for you.
  11. I have a tester now I am burning with 50/50 4630 & C-3. Heartfelt's Blackberry Sage with liquid burgundy color. CT and HT is pretty darn good. Both of these waxes are new to me and my pouring temp was off, I do believe. I poured around 145* and it may have been too cool since I got a sink hole in my 16 oz jar, the 8 oz jar set up great. I really was just playing to see the outcome. Next I want to try the 464 with the 4630 and also both C-3 and 464 in J223. As for wicking I used HTP's and found I can wick down significantly from my normal 50/50 parasoy slab wax. Next testers I am going to try CD's and zincs to compare.
  12. Welcome to the board and the joy of candlemaking ! What type of wax are you using? Most all pillar wax will require re-pours and there isn't really anyway around it. Re-pours should be poured 5-10 degrees hotter and not above the last pour line. If you are using container wax sometimes sink holes or craters also will develop depending on how quickly your candle sets up. Your pour temp may or may not help with them depending on your wax. A heat gun will help fill in those craters if the sink holes can't be combated with pouring temps or cooling slowly.
  13. 415 will pop out of the clamshells OK without adding a harder wax? Seems I had tested it in the past and didn't have any luck without them sticking then crumbling when trying to remove the cubes.
  14. I am testing C-3 / 4630 at 50/50 right now and in my 16 oz jar I got an air pocket but in my 8 oz I didn't. I poured around 145* so I may need to adjust my pouring temp. I haven't ever used the Accu 10 and it is my first experiences with C-3 but wanted to note that my first pour with C-3 did give a sink hole in the blend. Next testers I am going to try pouring hotter. CT wonderful at 48 hr cure, HT great. I need to adjust my wicking, after 2 - 4 hours burns I think I can go down a size. C-3 alone with 1/2 tsp of CO my first testers I got circular cracks when poured at 140*. 48 hr cure CT wonderful, test burning for the first now. I suspect that more than 48 hours cure will be needed to judge HT but I am also testing wicks. (ETA - I thought I would include these test results also.)
  15. Bummer indeed . . .I had forgot about Sunshine being a possibility and when seen your post I was hoping they might have what I was looking for.
  16. I didn't see where Sunshine Box has the 4x4x4 size clear boxes. I am looking to package pillars and container containers rather than tealights.
  17. Does anyone know where I can find 4x4x4 clear boxes like these without having to buy 200 at a time? http://www.uline.com/BL_5620/Clear-Vinyl-Boxes
  18. I printed out my year end statement yesterday . . .I was shocked when bumping 2008 numbers against 2007. My sales were up and my expenses were down. I worked hard at cost reductions all year and it did pay off.
  19. Hi flightoffancy . . .how is the scent throw with this blend? I got some C-3 ordered and am going to begin playing with it alone and blended. Glad to hear that my plans for the pour temp at 150* is a good starting point.
  20. Doing a search for simmering oils or warmer oils will bring up threads from previous discussions. Here is one: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73021&highlight=simmering+oils
  21. I only dabbled with the Glass Glow a bit but one thing that was not mentioned for you is to cool the container on a wire rack. It allows air circulation around the entire jar so the crystalization effect was consistent.
