  1. Southern Scentsations aka greatcandle.com does not send out emails with shipping notification.
  2. I despise making anything with Love Spell. Also, Sex on the Beach. I tested it with a hangover and to this day I gag when I have to pour it :spit:
  3. Dee ~ You're very welcome . .glad to help
  4. I am quite certain Jody's is the A&F for Men only. Not the Fierce. I used to buy from her but I asked Beth at Southern Scentsations (great candle) to dupe the "for men" for me about a year ago. I took her a sample of Jody's. I have been buying the "for men" from SS ever since. They recently began carrying the Fierce and now carry both. I make road trips frequently to SS and have smelled OOB, they are different. As for the White Spring Lilac - it is a very good Lilac. I don't detect other florals or musk and have used it for years. HTH ~ Brenda
  5. I have AVG and have forced updates 2 times plus shut down and re-booted. I am running my Malwarebytes now . . .This is weird!! In 7 years I haven't had troubles with Propay, I wonder what is going on (????) I did find a customer service email addy - I sent them an email.
  6. Ugh . . .Today I can't log in . . . .something is obviously going on with them. I even tried emailing a saved link in my email inbox to try to contact them but cannot even access it. Anyone else today able to get in or no?
  7. Does your subscription need renewed? I can get in OK here . . .just checked again
  8. For the most part I have mainly focused on retail when pricing my products and the past couple of weeks I have been reviewing my wholesale policies. I know that the rule of thumb for wholesale is cost X2, but does anyone go against the norm and use a different percentage or formula? When I crunch numbers cost X2 doesn't seem like alot when I am used to retail pricing. It may just be my mindset I understand that larger quantities make up for the $$$ but in my area and with the slower economy, store owners / retailers are opposed to the minimums I have established, which is 4 case minimum with atleast 3 of the same scent. More store owners are open to consignment rather than wholesale commitment right now. Any words of advice or a different formula that works for you? I'd appreciate any advice I can get . . .
  9. I switched based on costs. I can drive to pick up wax for the blend I am now using.
  10. I just logged into my account and I got in fine. BUT they must have updated their security since I had to change my password and pick confidential questions.
  11. YES . . .please follow these instructions! I learned this the hard way. I had a volcano effect happen to me and the wax burnt my hand pretty badly. I take a wooden skewer and poke holes in the wax BEFORE turning it on to relieve the pressure of the wax as it melts.
  12. I used this wax for a couple of years but have recently switched to blending my own 50/50. CT & HT are great & it colors easily. I used zinc wicks but also dabbled with CD and HTP. I think I still have some if you would interested in a slab to test. PM me.
  13. I am SO sorry this happened to you Not sure if this will help much but the J223 MP is 124* and the J50 MP is 128*. I'd do a comparison test for wicking with the J50 to see if it would be the same of the J223. And yes, I would contact the supplier . . . ETA - I posted as Carole was posting . . .
  14. Kim, thanks for replying BCN is where I seen the charcoal incense sticks I have an order in for both kinds, the charcoal kind and the regular kind. I am going to test to see if there any differences once they arrive. I didn't get any reviews, pros or cons, so once I compare I'll post my results. Glad to hear your customers like them. Do you have test results from comparing them to the regular kind?
  15. As I have been testing incense, I have bought 100 sticks here and there from various suppliers. I notice that they are not all created equal. Some are thinner sticks and burn quicker I am putting together an order for BCN and I am curious about the charcoal incense sticks. Does anyone have reviews on them? Any pros or cons compared to the wood pulp kind?
  16. This year I had vowed to approach more wholesale accounts. In the process of doing so, and with the economy, the only way to get my products "in" is to do the consignment. It is a bit more work for me since I follow up either weekly or twice a month. Still - it is working and I have gotten my foot in the door at new places. The upside is if stuff don't sell I got the option to move in what does. I make this clear in the beginning. I think they shop owners like it to since product isn't sitting for long periods of time. If it don't move at all, both parties learn from the experience and I take it out at my discretion. There's no money up front but still it seems to be working. I am going with the flow . . . .
  17. Well . . I guess I am not out of the norm The sample I received was spelled with the "K" in it. It didn't look right . . .so, I seached different suppliers and candle maker's sites only to find that some do use the "K". Seemed odd to me so I thought I would ask here how the majority spelled it.
  18. Just how in the dickens do YOU spell it? I spell it one way and it doesn't look right, spell it the other way and still not sure . . .I've checked various suppliers only to find they all vary and spell it either way. So how do you spell it? With or without the "K"? I think Dreamsicle . . . or wait, maybe not (???) Dreamsickle ??
  19. Thanks Kim . . .Do you now if this is the Abercrombie NOW dupe? I have a regular supplier who carries A&F for women but it isn't the NOW dupe my customer is looking for.
  20. I have a request for Abercrombie & Fitch for women called Abercrombie Now. Anyone know a supplier that carries it? I have checked the fragrance finder and nothing. Thought SOS would carry it but they don't. I know of a couple suppliers that carry A&F for women but I don't know if it is the same scent or not since I don't have a sample of the real perfume. I may be reaching out on a limb but I told my customer I would check into it for her. Thanks in advance =)
  21. Put your candle in the oven on the lowest setting and let it melt down that way then re-add your additional FO. I find this the easiest way.
  22. Nope, the wax doesn not go away when the FO has burnt off in the tart. Once they don't smell no more then they are done. As stated in the previous reply you can pop the bowl or holder in the freezer and some waxes do pop out easily. I am not that patient . . . I dump my wax into an old can while in liquid form and wipe with a paper towel. Much quicker and easier for me.
  23. Yes, that makes sense. I also have quite a few products and that don't matter. The site builder for my website has an section to put each product weight right into the program. I weighed my products with my scale. So when a customer places an order, all the product weights are calculated (or added up) by the USPS shipping calculator in the shopping cart. It sounds complicated but really it is easy and convenient.
  24. :laugh2: I eyeball mine too . . and YES, there are days I am "eyeball challenged". Or as I call it "cock-eyed" . . . On those days, I am going to try the rubber band method. Good tip !
