  1. Hi all -- I have been out of the candle loop for a few years -- looking to get back in a little for the holidays. Can anyone give a review on ICS Baby Powder? Is it anything like KY snuggle baby? Still love her cinnamon buns - its the best! Also she used to have the best pumpkin pie filling that I ever smelled!!! Is there anything close to that out there? I think Bittercreek had a closeout pumpkin pie that was good also. There are so many pumpkins that don't smell like pumpkin - any help would be appreciated!
  2. Looking for as close to KY snuggle baby as I can get. Just can't eat the high shipping charges from RE -- would end up being 30.00 lb for me. Must be another company that sells similar? thanks
  3. You are so right -- ICS pumpkin pie filling was the best and I cannot find it on their site! I hope she brings it back soon.
  4. Well, I melt my ky parasoy to about 170 - turn it off, put in color, pour in 1 1/2 oz oil, stir and pour - no heating of glass nor stirring for 3 minutes. I have very limited time. I let them set for about a day and start shipping them. Maybe you are getting candle nose from smelling so many scents? Did you give some to friends/ family to test for you? They are probably better than you think -- we tend to be our own worst critic.
  5. I made almost all my own -- I know it can be time consuming but it is so much cheaper especially if you have to pay shipping prices. You can get your own molds pretty cheap. There used to be alot of great embed makers but I think most of them have gone out of business.
  6. I use my tart wax -- parasoy from KY -- works great! When I first started I used container wax -- big mistake - very sticky and messy.
  7. I have never had wax dandruff on my bears -- must be the type of wax you are using. I put them on small plate in large cello bag -- in priority box and fill with poppers or foam peanuts or stuff with tissue paper. Something to fill box. Stamp fragile all over box also. Not that they don't throw them around but I think they might be a little more careful. Good luck
  8. I live in south florida and have shipped hundreds of them over the last 10 years -- never had one melt yet! I send them priority mail -- 2-3 days tops. You can always ship one to yourself to test it -- I would send it parcel post -- will still take 2 days - and see how it turns out. I use parasoy wax.
  9. After 10 years of searching -- there is none better than the key lime pie from Allure Fragrance -- no longer in business. It was the absolute best and truest I have ever found. No fuel, just pure key lime pie
  10. Just curious as to how you are testing? What kind of melter are you using? tealight or electric? Also - how big is the room you are testing in. I would give some to my friends and let them try them. All the waxes you use are great for tarts. My favorite is Astorlite V -- however due to high price, I have switched to KY parasoy. I like it alot but do not LOVE it. But it still throws great -- and I use 1 1/2 ounce per lb. Only exception is BCN blueberry muffin -- 1 oz is killer strong in any wax I have tried.
  11. I just zap them with a heat gun for a few seconds --looks much better.
  12. I am usually always happy with KY also -- but this last batch I received not only looked different -- it was very very fine -- but there is not much throw hot or cold. I have been doing this for 10 years - first time my tarts don't fill my house. same oils so it must be the wax.
  13. Chemessence has a vanilla that WILL NOT turn brown. I have a candle made many many years ago that is not brown. And I love it. Must buy in 2 lb bottles but they are priced really good.
  14. I use to buy their blue cotton candy and it was awesome and a really strong thrower in astor v alone and in soy mix tarts. They used to be 30 minutes from me in florida so I could pick up -- til they moved out of state. Have not tried any other though. Nice nice people.
  15. ICS has some of the best oils I have tried -- I use parasoy blend but even when I used all paraffin -- they were strong. I use 1 1/2 oz per lb. She has super fast shipping and great service also!
