  1. I was trying to figure out a mans' soap to make for Father's Day. I was intriqued by Sherie's Beer, Hemp & Egg Soap. So after asking her some questions, I decided to make it. I used 100% Canadian Premium Beer as the liquid (Alexander Keiths), 7% Hemp Seed Oil (it's all I had - I wanted 10%), an egg yolk added to oils before I mixed the oils with the lye. (I made the egg yolk into a mayo with the oils-so it wouldn't curdle) Oh, I did not color this soap, but did add a gold mica to some of the soap to swirl it slightly as I do know this soap will darken quite a bit. I scented it Peaks Tall Grass. It really isn't a grass-like scent! It's fresh like Peaks Ocean FO is. Here's the pic in the mold. Will add cut pic Wednesday evening!
  2. Is 7% beeswax too much to add to a recipe?
  3. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT. Can't wait to get mine!
  4. I love your popsicles so much! I didn't believe that your bottle had salts in it. I've never seen that before. That is sooooo cool. Love it all!
  5. I'm telling you, I crack my own self up! I'm coming up with a new soap that is a FO called Cafe Vienna, which I am renaming.....to CAFE GELATO (for summer's sake!) Will add actual picture when I make the soap! This is what I put on my website mainpage: No tourist destination in Italy lacks the cheerful refrigerated gelato case, with dozens of mouth-watering flavours! On my recent trip to Italy, I definitely boosted the gelato economy. This soap is inspired by one of the best gelatos I devoured! CAFÉ GELATO.
  6. I want to make a CP Honey Soap with real honey and yellow beeswax. I want a real honey/beeswax smell to it, in the final result. I haven't added beeswax to soap before. Where does it fit into the soap equation? As a hard oil? What's the maximum %? Should I add the honey in with the lye water, and at trace as well? What is the maximum grams of honey for let's say a 2 lbs recipe? Thanks for any help possible. -Tasha
  7. Oh This Is So Wonderful, And It Looks Amazing. Have You Noticed Any New Customers? People From Out Of Town Purchasing?
  8. Totally a man soap! Love the swirls! I can't do that in my log mold!
  9. The other day, I went to Goodwill (Is this just Canadian?)...you know like a second hand store........and I found medium size mason jars with lids for .29 cents each!!!!!!!!! That works out to $3.48 for 12 !!! You can just spray paint the lids black, copper or whatever color you want! That's the way to be frugal and put more money in your pocket! Even check garage sales! They practically give them away!
  10. ohhhhhhh boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's with this candletech brownie addiction we all have, real and fake! Looks cool!
  11. Very cute! Great idea! Gotta have some!
  12. I got my order from Brenda today......... Everything is amazing! I got my first sniff at Monoi today. I find it smells like suntan lotion........that amazing coconutty scent.........with a light floral fragrance (I usually hate floral!) I also got my first sniff at "Pink Sugar" (*it's in a body butter.........and love it) She is always so kind and generous with the stuff she sends! Thought I'd just brag a little about my stuff!
  13. Jojoba Oil: A natural liquid from the kernels of the Jojoba desert plant. Has a chemical composition resembling the skin’s sebum. Antibacterial characteristics. Excellent for dry skin conditions. I use it in my shampoo bars, I'm not sure if that's what makes my hair a little greasy feeling when I use it but my shampoo bar makes my hair curl like crazy and defrizzes my hair! I do love it!
  14. I just bought this body scrub that was Lavender Tangerine, and I'm in love! So I'm sure this soap must smell great as well. Not a combination of FO's I'd ever thought of but boy it's great! It's a great looking bar of soap!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. This Osmanthus is from SWEETCAKES. The nicest-smelling floral you've never heard of! Osmanthus flowers come from a Chinese evergreen, and in China, where they're used to scent tea, are known as Kwei Hwa. The fragrance is floral-fruity -- it's been described as a combination of jasmine with a suggestion of plum and raisins -- and very exotic. Evidently it spans the globe, as osmanthus scents are very popular in Europe and Australia as well. Astringent and fresh, much like freesia. I'm not one for floral at all, so this was my one and only floral soap. (besides Lavender, I do love Lavender) But I hate patchouli, but the two together really compliment eachother and it smells quite nice! I purposely bought it as a mixer for other FO's.
  16. This is Bunny's recipe, and she posted it in the recipe section. There are like a million replys to it. You'll find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. What is the company for this FO you so love dearly...................
  18. This blend of FO's was requested by a customer, and I know so many people who like patchouli....so I thought why not try it. It's not nearly as bad as I thought, as I HATTTTTTTTE Patchouli!
  19. Floral/fruity Chinese Osmanthus Flower Fragrance Oil blended with Patchouli Fragrance and Essential Oils. Not the color I was going for.......but ah!
  20. I actually just melted the butters really low til they melted. Then added the baking soda and Cornstarch when the butters were still warm (not hot). Then after it was mixed well I added the citric acid and mixed really fast for about 20 seconds with a metal whisk. Then put it in that clear container and poured them. I actually had extra for I just poured it on the cookie sheet and broke it into peices and use them for myself! Why not, I don't care what they look like! *And livelovebath -Jenny......I still want yours you silly! These were made for mother's day! I want to try yours still! Oh ya Baby! Caramel...........
  21. 36 is the minimum for hardness. Between 36-47 is best. I'm sure it will be fine though. I make an 90% olive oil soap and it hardens no prob and the hardness is like 10. About the milk, make it a little slushy in the freezer, then add the lye. I do that and it works out fine. It will turn yellowish and probably smell awful though. But the smell should go away........ Hope this helps
