  1. I quite honestly cannot believe the group of ladies that seem to think that they were angels. I quite honestly think that Tabitha and I were the best behaved of the bunch. You all would of been lost without us. We tried like the dickens to keep everyone else on their best behavior, but lordy, these ladies can dictate some peer pressure They were trying to get me and Tabitha to do things that we NEVER would of thought of doing! I could not believe the way they behaved For those that do not know me, I am quite full of shit Although, they would of been lost without us, and their tummies probably wouldn't of hurt so bad I had a wonderful time getting to see Kim, Ginger, Terri, and Leslie again. And I had a blast getting to meet Debbie and Tabitha for the first time! I can't wait till I get to see everyone again! I haven't laughed that hard in I don't know how long! And don't worry ladies, all your secrets are safe with me
  2. I will be there, and just wanted to let any peeps know that I will have room in my room. Hubby had to change days off, so I am in a room to myself! If anyone is interested in sharing, please let me know! It is a non smoking room!
  3. Good Luck Michi, you can do it I am still very new to soaping, but if you count all my mistakes, I should be a pro I was the over achiever that AJ mentioned, and I was bound and determined to do it myself. I was totally confused on the calc, but honestly, you don't need to know alot about them numbers right now. It will all harden with time, and a good cure Trying a recipe that is tried and true is a very good recommendation, especially for the first time. That way, you know how it is SUPPOSED to act. Then when you make your own, and realize, uh-oh, this isn't supposed to do that, you will notice the difference.....and still have faith in your abilities. But it does tremendously help to make the first one a recipe that works well with no Accelleration! That recipe that AJ gave ya sounds great! I have had a few mention to me that to start out the KISS method is great, Keep It Simple Stupid, LOL! That fit me to a T Or it could be Keep it Simple Soap I have found that when doing my own recipes now, that I still seem to like less better. I dont' try to add a ton of them, cuz if I can be happy with less, then my checking account smiles
  4. Don't know how in the world I missed this.....but maybe it was a good thing, LOL! Hope it all works out bunny, and you have did a great job of scaring the beejessus out of me
  5. Wally world has one for 9.99 Not sure how to help ya on the soap....maybe the cocoa butter?
  6. those are beautiful!! Beautiful colors and swirlies girl I bet it smells divine
  7. Those look good! I love the green, and the smell is awesome!
  8. Very pretty Julie! I bet it smells great! I agree with Sara, it does look just like a grapefruit
  9. Those are gorgeous!! I love, love your swirls How in the world do you all swirl like this?
  10. Beatiful Swirls girl That is some gawwwgeous soap! I have a neighbor who's mom would love it, she is allergic to fragrance So there is a market for unscented, beautiful soap
  11. Fingers and Toes are crossed and so is my bra No worries girl, look at the bright side. It won't be as bad as I have screwed up
  12. I got some awesome ones at scent works, but it seems that they are not going to carry them anymore:( Good thing I am in the final testing phases of my shampoo, or else I would of had to repackage all over again.....really bites cuz I really, really liked the bottles. They were super squeezable soft. Not sure if they have any left or not.......
  13. Never did a mb yet, but did you remember to weigh your bucket when you first started, and tare it so it's weight wasn't included in your measurements? That would be the only thing that comes to mind, that maybe something wasn't tared.........Other than that sorry I can't help more. I just know how it is trying to figure out how something didnt' go right. I am the queen of that
  14. Are you telling me that I am funny? LOL Here I thought I would be a learning experience for what NOT to do when soaping. Like Don't forget the fragrance, don't use soapy water, don't forget all your oils, and the list sure keeps growing. I am totally positive that someone is actually learning NOT to make the same dumb mistakes that I have. Hmmmmm, seems odd that I didn't learn from anyone else's though doesnt' it? So how exactly do I go about doing this? Chop it up, throw it all in a crock pot or microwave, add the missing oils, and cook for how long? How do I know when it is done? Will I have to add more fragrance? And lordy, I will just bet that I actually got a good swirl, and now I have to chuck it away, LOL!
  15. ok, I am a complete dumb azz I made a fairly large batch of soap last nite, and guess what? I only added my melted hard oils, and completely forgot to add a ton of my soft oils. I haven't even messed with it or unmolded it yet, but I know that baby is gonna be super lye heavy. I added all the water that recipe called for, but forgot those other freaking oils. Good thing I drove bus today, cuz I was thinking as I was driving, cuz I just knew that I was forgetting something, lol! So I am wondering if this can be saved ok? Can I rebatch and just add my soft oils to it? How exactly do I go about doing it? I don't have a way to shred unless I do it by hand, but since it is still real fresh, could I just cube it? And if so, I am kinda confused on the whole rebatch thing. Is it just heat and cook? And the next question is that I *thought* that I was being smart and was testing some fo's bunny style. Well a few of them got really funky. Do you think it was cuz of the missing oils? Or would they get funky regardless? Guess I can retest them, but was wondering if anyone had any input. Except for my being a dummy cuz I already know that......Just what I get for trying to get stuff done at the last minute to take to NY with me. Oh well.....they can go without, lol!
  16. I do mine a tad different, I melt the shea and other hard butters completely, then pop into the freezer. Scrape the sides as it thickens up, to get a good chill thru it all. I don't like large chunks so I try not to freeze too much. After it is out of the freezer, I then add my liquid oils and whip. For me, this has generated a fluffier frosting type consistency, and the warmer room temp oils, help add to the semi frozen butters.
  17. Only problem with putting it into a malibu, is the last 1/4 of it or so. I make a scrub that is similar to Bohunks (a tweaked version) and my customers like the scubbiness of it. Put it into malibus and unless you can find some super squeezable ones, that last quarter or so does not want to come out. Even when placed under hot shower water, it thins but still is stubborn as all get out. I have since decided to change my packaging back to jars. Tried to stay away cuz of dirty fingers and such, but I have some that I have heavily tested that has had hands with just about everything under the sun shoved in there, and I am not finding any contamination!
  18. Your site looks great! Simple and elegant! Did you make it yourself?
  19. I talk a little bit about my products, tell funny customer stories, and play a ton of games that are not related to my products. Most of the peeps love to book cuz everyone seem to have fun. They all tell me that it is so mcuh fun and they dont' have to listen to a long spiel, they spend more time laughing, and relaxing, and that is what keeps them coming back for more. I do have a sample basket that has all my b/b items in it for them to pass around and try, and I also have a candle that I take to each show and light before it starts. I give away sample sized products that I make as the prizes. It is a way for them to try something they normally may not buy. I can normally count on a sale after someone recieves a prize, the next show they come to, they order more!
  20. How high is the one you are purchasing? I checked the site out, but I admit, not real well. Metal pipes? Just wondering if you ever considered using pvc and making your own.......would be a whole heck of a lot cheaper, although you may end up with a headache
  21. Don't know how in the heck I missed that :embarasse Thanx maryanne, it did help. I am thinking that what I was looking at from WSP is the water mix type, maybe I want to order from BB instead then...........
  22. Well how in the world am I supposed to decide then when I don't have nothing to compare too, LOL! You know how I am with decisions........I want someone to hold my hand:laugh2:
  23. Not your weight The weight of your soap I asked before about soap size....thanx to all that helped. I am playing with some soap molds and wanted to get a good size. Now for weight, what do you prefer your bar to weigh, and is the rule of thumb actually $1 per ounce as I read somewhere? Not no where ready to sell, but would like to kinda see what my cost is per bar and see what I would be able to sell at. Looking into it to see if it will be worth while. Could you all share your soap weight and price?
