  1. LOOK WhAT I FOUND!!!!!! Just for you girl
  2. You crack me up! Too bad every recipe is different, and I have made how many now, LOL! I just wish I could get this swirling stuff figured out! I will even if I have to start shipping soap to my worst enemies  I am sure yours look great! Post some pics, cuz I don't believe you on how bad they are! :rolleyes2
  3. LMAO! You sound like me now! Not sure on the rebatch since I haven't done it yet. I was gonna rebatch those 2 that I contaminated, but I was told it was better to pitch them, LOL!
  4. I agree with Trish! If you can get grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, and the whole sheebang going, her sales would boost up! Or even a friend of yours that may work outside of the home?
  5. YEAH! Nobody deserves it more! The grocery lady is the best one for the job!
  6. Go look girl, I am dying to see pictures of the yogurt soap or slush
  7. You mean the stuff I can't manage to listen too? I am thinking that I need to start tape recording stuff, cuz if I don't write it down, these 2 will hound me for life I posted pics, and the camera didn't really get the full affect, but you can see a dramatic difference!
  8. Hey!! I resemble that remark That is weird! Most grocery stores do sell lard, and someone told me (see I can listen) that if you look for pre-creamed shortening in the oil isle and read the back that it may be made from meat fats. So it would be like a tallow that would work for soap, kinda like crisco for the soy oil! I know Super walmart sells lard, do you have one of them close? When I went in search for lye, everyone stared at me. Yep, I am gonna make meth out of it, and sell it to everyone!!!! I probably would of freaked if they would of looked at me like that for lard or tallow, LOL! Lye I can see, but fat? Too funny! And I am not laughing at you hun, I am laughing with you
  9. Them swirls are out of this world It looks magnificent! I hope I can swirl half that good when I grow up :rolleyes2
  10. That sandlewood looks awesome! Great swirls!!
  11. Very pretty! The 2nd picture did catch some of the swirl! Great job!!
  12. Can't seem to get these darn swirls Tried to swirl, tops look ok, but couldn't get it to go all the way thru Even tried with a slab type mold Left to right Clean cotton, love spell, and omh on the bottom Same soaps different view, omh, key lime, clean cotton And the omh, oh my! This is what it looked like in the mold, major sweet taters, lol! Glad it didn't stay that orange I put plastic on it, but took it off real quick. Put 1 Tbsp (I know now too much) honey in it, it is oozing slightly, but not like I thought. I ended up putting it in the fridge and left it there all night. It wasn't too bad to cut, however, when I got to the bottom, the last 1/4 inch or so in the log mold crumbled when I cut it on each and every piece. Thanx for looking!
  13. But if I didn't screw up so much, you all wouldn't wuv me so much! Hell, who would you yell and laugh at then Lordy, I can't satisfy neither one of you then, LOL! And if you hang up on me, I will call you right back
  14. OH MY! That light one looked like sweet potatoes It looks bootimus now! I hope mine turn out like that, lol! Cuz these were some baby carrot, fresh baked sweet potatoe orange! I about crapped, and of course, DH just had to start laughing at me :rolleyes2 He has been doing that alot lately though. I am beginning to think I talk to the soap more than him. At least I am not swearing at him so much, only at the soap now, LOL! So you added it to the oils before you added the lye? I did a 1.5# batch and did a little over a 33% solution. I added 3.3 oz lye, and 2.6 oz water, mixed that. Then slowly added that to my oils, then after light trace added 5 oz heavy cream. That didn't accelerate too bad at all, it was adding all that honey, which I did not warm :embarasse These gelled, but not super quick, my kitchen is pretty cool, so that helped, I think. I did end up putting it in the fridge, cuz that baby was getting warm! I just hope I don' t have honey oozing out of them Guess I will find out tomarrow! I planned on trying it that way next time, so if it you were able to do it and it worked, then I *maybe* ok. I tend to screw things up. I am the best example of what NOT to do LMAO If mine are saved like yours then I may have to come over and hug you ETA, no fo for me either, just ground oatmeal (after it got mashed pototoes, lol), the heavy cream and honey!
  15. Those look wonderful Bunny! A hell of a way to experiment! Those molds look HUGE, must be the way you took the pic, LOL! Can't wait to see them cut!
  16. Those look great! I bet they have a blast with them! Kim sent my dh and son one and they use it whenever they shave here at home! they last forever LOL! Those molds look cool too! Mamma is gonna have fun in the tub
  17. LMAO!! you all are just too funny! I am so glad that I am not the only dirty minded one on here, lol! Dust, that sure would be a sucky job! And a cucumber sounds mighty innocent compared to some of the things I have heard about
  18. IT WILL STAY THIS COLOR? Nope, didn't warm it, you all never told me to do that I used 1 TBSP per pound of oils :embarasse Oh well, I will have orange soap, LMAO! I will just have to make another batch and see what happens ETA: It looks and smells like sweet potatoes :embarasse
  19. Gorgeous Angie! Them swirls are fantastic! And yeppers I bet it does smell yummy
  20. Well I did it, and boy is it a deep burnt looking orange! Kinda like the sunset, lol! Will it change back? It didn't change until I added the darn honey, and boy did it accellerate really, really fast! I had to glop it in the mold and try to squish it in the best that I could. I used heavy cream for the milk, lol!
  21. OH MY! I wonder what caused it? I have used the oven and it worked fine for me with no volcano's! Leave it to me to actually get the one thing right that others have problems with, lol!
  22. Do I add this at trace or with my other oils? I know Bunny told me already, but I forgot, and didn't write it down :embarasse
  23. Oh My freaking gosh! I really don't think you even want to know what went thru my mind when I read the title I was actually thinking that it was no wonder hubby hung up on you LMAO!!!!!! Whip them girls into shape and don't beat them with the cucumber. What in the world did you have it in the bathroom for anyway? You are having too much fun, I swear! Mash it up and get it in a mold! Can't wait to see pictures--of the soap :rolleyes2
  24. I see that you do have some sense I know I can be a real beach, and I know that it isn't always a good thing. My posts tend to sound more harsh than what I actually mean, but I am a blunt person. As long as you do realize that alot of things need to be considered before selling, then go for it. Yes, the packaging and labeling can be fun (but a hell of a headache too) and that all needs to be considered for your *future line* In the past (and I shouldn't of judged you this way) many peeps come on, and don't realize the difference between the oils as sad suggested. They also ask about a base, then the next thing you know, they have everything done, and are selling at shows, and on the internet This happens with the candles and the b/b line both. To me, the safety side of it is too important to stress. Alot of people think this is a get rich scheme, and as many of us have realized, it isn't. For most of us, it is the love of actually making the products that keep us going, not the money. We are all hoping that it will come with time. After re reading my earlier post, I realized that on top of sounding like a royal bitch (even though I am) I sounded very discouraging. That was not my intention at all. My whole point was to have fun, and buy till your heart is content, but I don't agree with it if you are planning on selling any time soon. That is where I must of misunderstood :embarasse
  25. Yes, I am completly baffled that you are looking at packaging ideas and labeling, and such when you haven't even tried a product. You must TEST products even though they are from a base still. There is alot more to this buisness then buying a base, adding color, adding scent, plopping it into a container, smacking a label on and going to the darn craft fair. This is alot of the reason why so many peeps are having a hard time finding insurance for b/b and candles. Too many people think it is a get rich fast thing, and they don't realize the tried and true, and spent so much money on products, and most of us are still waiting to see the up side of it, Besides enjoying it! If you plan on making a buisness out of this, then research is more than just asking a few questions and getting others opinions on whose bases to try. You need to try them for yourself. And if you can't afford samples then what are you doing? You shouldn't be sampling so many things at one time then! Ok, I am stepping off of my soap box :embarasse Please pm with all the hate mail. I don't mean to sound like a witch (well, maybe) but I can't get over the fact that new ones are coming on here all the time, and by golly, they are almost ready to sell and they haven't did anything! If you are not gonna be like this, then I apologize, and if you are.....then I guess I didn't assume wrong, did I? ETA: Since we replied at the same time. It seems that you are wanting to test. May I ask what other products you have in the line that you will be adding too?
