  1. Looks great Rae. I didn't get the magazine, wish I did. I faked it. Mine came out looking like waves down the middle. LOL
  2. I'm not all that experienced but had a great recipe with lard. I wanted to play with tallow too so I added some tallow and played with the numbers and came out with a great bar of soap that was harder than my original. I love it because it is a really nice white hard bar with good qualities and quicker to unmold. It is also cheaper than Palm if you don't mind the animal fats. Some mix tallow with Palm also. HTH
  3. I bet he is loving those. They look awesome!
  4. Hey, looking good. Hope the divider worked alright. I've done things like that and more. lol I have been trying a squeeze bottle lately to get more control over pouring. It is exciting to learn something new. Great job.
  5. Mmmm! Looks great and I bet it smells even better.
  6. DH made the mold that comes apart and lined it with very thin lexan, glued on the sides and bottom. He used a lot thicker lexan to make the dividers. No lining anymore. Yea!
  7. Any swirl you do is gorgeous and this is no exception!
  8. Those are stunning and I love the colors and design. Rustics are really time consuming but so beautiful! They really look iced.
  9. That is gorgeous!!!!!!I think it's perfected.
  10. Looks great Rae, let me know if you can get a buzz.
  11. Something else I figured out by myself and now confirmed by Jeff is: You can't just pull the soap off the dividers or base, you have to slide them off. Along with sodium lactate, sliding or pushing off should work hopefully.
  12. I think you are correct. My first recipe was very basic and although is was a great bar in a wooden mold lined with paper, it was a little softer. I have one now that is about 5 points harder. I have also learned how to do a little water discount now and didn't know how earlier. I bet it makes a lot of difference in these types of molds. I'm so glad you posted as this could help a lot of us.
  13. I'll take two...that looks so real! Great job
  14. Gorgeous soap!!! Oooooh..an Upland mold. Where is jealous smiley?
  15. Thank You for the nice comments and thanks to Babs too.
  16. Sorry to hear that. The soap is so pretty. I wish someone who has acrylic molds would chime in with some tricks or something. Thanks for the update. I had the same problem with the HDPE.
  17. I'm so glad Stella pointed out to use super glue for testers or your wicks would be floating around towards the end. Thanks Stella
  18. Rae were you able to unmold the soap yet and how did it go? I've read that non wood molds may take a day or two longer.
  19. Jamie that is gorgeous!!! O.K. ready to throw out this soy now. haha Some people just poke holes and insert wicks for testing, they don't fasten them to the bottom. :smiley2:
  20. I need all the compliments I can get lol but this is Rae's soap and post. I think you meant to say Rae but I appreciate the info. :smiley2:
