  1. okay....but call me dumb.....does that mean sell them to him @a discount, and let him sell them for what he wants to?? As I had mentioned, he has some of my brochures in the shop already.
  2. *getdown* you're the man. Please keep us all posted!!so, Mr Scientist sir...what would you suggest I try w/the 449 to make it look better. I'm also working w/tempuring the 464, and that's going very well.
  3. I call them my "Sampler Scents". I sell them for $2.25 ea, 4 or more for $2 ea. I can also hook you up w/my supplier lady friend in Indiana if you'd like. To me, they are very cheap to make, and I make the most $$ selling these. I also let my customers know that they are perfect for a guest bathroom, stocking stuffers, and party favors.
  4. I'm thinking he's interested in consignment....he has some of my brochures and likes my prices. I'm just not sure that I would still be able to make something, if he takes too big of a percentage. My prices are very reasonable, and I'm not out to make a killing, but I definately need to at least pay for my supplies.
  5. as far as the "testing" of the particular jars/bowls/whatever- I would not have to be doing weird shaped things, or pieces that have varied diameters. But that is a thought, and perhaps he would give me a few pieces to test in, and that way we can "offer" the pieces that we know will work. I pretty much have the diameter/wicking thing down, as the waxes I use are very consistant for me.....I know that I have to go up a size w/certain oils. And since the pieces are not glass, they do not have to be colored. so ANNIE---YOU HAVE NOT MISUNDERSTOOD ME
  6. I just got an offer to place my candles in a pottery shop. It is a place where people go to "make their own"....they pick out a piece and paint it, then it is glazed and fired. They also teach a fefw different types of classes.Anyway, the owner has been looking for a "candle line" for 7mos. I was just wondering if anyone here has their product in a shop-- do you "rent" space? does the owner get a percentage of your sales? what is a "proper" % ? Also, the lady that teaches the one-stroke painting has seiously suggested that I offer to "make candles" in peoples' finished product, and charge a set amt per ounce to do so....I thought this was a great idea!! Just looking for thoughts/suggestions.....TIA
  7. I do fall/Thanksgiving/Christmas scents. I also keep a few others on hand, such as Lavender- it sells for me all year round.
  8. These are my best seller!!! Been making them for over a year now. They are pretty easy to wick- I generally use an LX 10 now. I use to use RRD 29's. I do use an LX 12 on the darker heavier oils. I am using either CBA or 464 You can't go wrong w/these little cuties!! Everyone just loves them. HTH
  9. Hi Meredith, and welcome to the "joy of soy" 1oz pp does not seem like too much FO, but may I ask what scent is it?? I mean, is it a lighter scent, or a darker heavier scent? IMHO, w/that wax and size jar, I would be looking @ an LX 20 or 22, or an RRD 40 or 47.....these are the only 2 types of wicks I've ever used. I'm trying to figure out why you would need that big of a wick in that diameter :undecided....oh wait- according to my pamphlet, the 415 is pure soy, which I have found to need a larger wick, so I would take my suggestions up a notch or 2. HTH
  10. WOW...thanx for all the replies!! I can't say that I have any that smell "bad"....it's just that one of my stronger/fav FO's (Lemongrass), I can't seem to get it to throw anymore - even after upping it to 9%.
  11. YUP......and also--- I poured a pure soy hot once, and it never ste up right....looked like colored curdled milk
  12. okay- I figured I'd get y'alls opinions on this....... Does the age of an FO really matter?? I mean, do they really lose their strength over a period of time, and why?? TIA!!!!
  13. SweetPea& Me- MC CoconutLimeVerbena PinkSugar CucumberMelon Cashmere-JS
  14. MagnoliaJazz....I like it . I once tried mixing my own Jasmine & Lavender.....it came out awful
  15. purple & yellow my 2 fav colors. I luv doing angled layers...just wish they'd burn that way...lol
  16. my 8 yr old son says cotton candy, my 9yr old daughter can't decide( she voted other)
  17. Unfortunately, I believe that's the only way they ship .Where do you live? Perhaps someone could add your to their order, and then ship to you????? I haven't yet decided if I'm gonna place an order or not, but I'll let you know.
  18. had to let you all know this....I'm on my 3rd burn (3rd day, and yes, I power burn).......A 4oz classic jar- 9% OMH from NG-very slight maple coloring- and using an LX 12. I am burning it in the master bathroom, and it is seriously scenting the bathroom and bedroom!!! okeedokee- finally finished up my power burning on the baby, and the scent even started creeping out to the livingroom( due to the a/c intake, I believe) I lost NO scent at all. I sell alot of smaller sizes, so I'm thinkin' I'll be just fine w/this wax, IMO. I also tried an 8oz jj w/9% Lemongrass- RRD 34- could hardly even smell it when I was on top of it......go figure
  19. Has anybody ordered from them?? Just wondering. Also- If we ( Floridians) order from there, we would have to pay sales tax too.
  20. Hi Luci, I think there was another one on the boards here somewhere. I'm not sure how updated it is either. I'll see if I can find it.
  21. Greetings, and welcome to the board and FL. I have been making soy candles for just over a year. I have yet to find a supplier here in this lovely state of ours. I totally understand the shipping thing! One of my very favorite suppliers is CandleScience.com. They are located in NC. They have awesome customer service, and a variety of supplies. There is also a new company in Kentucky- SoyCandle.com. Melissa is great. I just purchase some different wax from them (25#- it was ~ $9 for shipping). They are new, so their site is still in the works. There is also a thread on here somewhere, with a list of suppliers by state, but I can't remember where . HTH
  22. I have never been disappointed w/any of their FO's. I've gotten quite a few over the past year. The CranberryMarmalade is my fav, and an awesome throw!
