  1. thanx gramma and tart......I just might have to "clean" them, or something since I live in the lovely BUGGY state of FLA...lol or perhaps one of the roaches would make a good wax-dipped critter decoration on the cone
  2. I have a good friend that made mine for me.....out of solid color twin flat sheets that I bought a Walmart (cheap)
  3. hi gramma, I tried to pm you, but it said you were not accepting pm's....anyway, I have a question.....I can get plenty of pine cones- how do you clean them?? they can be pretty sappy sometimes. also- I use soy, so would you suggest a container or a pillar blend? TIA
  4. What temp are you pouring?? I agree w/TOP...and I would try pouring cooler (possibly)
  5. I get my Sage & Citrus from there ONLY
  6. I actually played around w/making some chunks myself. I found that you have to "stick" a few pieces on the edges of your jar, unless it's really loaded , and your overpour has to remain colorless in order to see the chunks. I had a couple come out really nice. HTH
  7. my understanding is that they are "suppose" to be to soy what Yank WAS to paraffin
  8. I just have to agree w/you on that
  9. here's a free "domain name" one I found http://www.dot.tk/en/index.html
  10. maybe you can try some local thrift shops....I just bought a great rectangular basket for my tarts for 25cents. I also bout some great glassware, and spent less than $2. just a thought
  11. I'll have to say that the ChristmasCookies from SoyCandle is amazing!!! My brothers whole house smelled yummy, burning an 8oz candle. It's not much different than the reg. sugarcookie.
  12. welcome to "our world" Mom  Bless you my dear- w/5 kids....I have a hard enough time w/these 2...lol have fun
  13. oooh- I can't wait for the Apples+Maple Bourbon then. As far as the wick goes, I would try a bigger LX, or try a CD (not sure what size) I have been able to single wick a 4" diameter w/a Stabilo (CD) 22, using the GB 464 and an extremely dark FO. I have not tried anything from FLA SoySolutions- yes, we may save on shipping, but we'll have to pay sales tax. I may email them and ask some questions. IMO, the CB135 will NOT give you as pretty a candle.
  14. Hey You!! How are 'ya?? I should've asked to to go get my "stuff" for me...lol...lol I ordered 4- ozers of the ChristmasCedar....it's awesome!! They also have the best Mulbery, and the best Scotch Pine I'm also getting some more CBA, 'cause people around here still luv the colors
  15. I luv the Mountain Forest from AtWixEnd. It is very clean and fresh, and not "piney" at all.
  16. if you hurry, CandleScience has a 99cent sale for 1 more hour!! http://www.candlescience.com/ I luv their FO's HTH
  17. soooo hard to have that self control when it comes to FO's the CranberryMarmalade is absolutely wonderful @ 6% also luv their CucMelon and GT & LG. I'm not a Pomegranate fan, but it's good too. Check out CS's wick guide. It's pretty right on! What kind of jars and wicks are you using? I am on the west coast, about 1 1/2hrs north of St Pete
  18. me too ....what did you get?? and where in S.FLA are you? I live on the Gulf Coast, south of CedarKey
  19. you can't go wrong w/any of the FO's from CandleScience. I have been using the Advanced for over a year, and loved all their FO's. Also, you can try FO's from SoyCandle.com- Melissa is great, and they also test all their FO's in soy. Ihave had some luck, hit or miss, w/the FO's from AH/RE, NG, and JS HTH
  20. coral is a pretty summer color, and doesn't have to be very dark
  21. I have experienced that same "look" when I poured too hot, especially pure soy- you need to pour slushy.
