  1. I am interested in trying to mix my own blend using soy plus paraffin. Never having used any paraffin wax, I'm wondering if someone would give me a recommendation on what would be good to mix with KY Pure Soy. I do not use dye in my candles at the present time and would like to come up with a blend so that I can start a line of colored candles without the frosting problem. I know there are several pre-blended waxes but I just want to do my own. Thanks.
  2. I purchased some containers here and they were terrible - thin glass, hard to open, rough plastic on lids, etc. Don't want to hurt anyone's business but I got stuck with containers that I was afraid to use. They were willing to accept a return but shipping cost was prohibitive.
  3. Could be mistaken, but I think Beanpod is associated in some way, maybe owned, by Enchanted Lites.
  4. I get mine from Enchanted Lites. They recommend 2% and that is what I use in KY Pure Soy. I don't have that problem.
  5. Soybean plants absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Since candles produce carbon, burning soy candles acts as a carbon offset since the carbon produced by the candles is neutralized by the soybean crops. Burning paraffin candles does nothing but release more carbon into the atmosphere.
  6. I've used the TC 50/50 for wicked candles and the HT on everything I have tried is great! I have tried mixing it 50/50 with 464 but the HT was not good. I just wish it had a little more soy and still burned and looked the same.
  7. Any difference in the hot throw when wax is poured slushy? I have quite a lot of the 464 wax and had trouble with the hot throw so am now mixing it with a 50/50 blend. Pouring slushy kind of defeats the purpose but if it improves the hot throw it would be worth a try.
  8. I would be interested. My email is ahammock@centurytel.net. Thanks.
  9. Which wicks work in this wax? I have only used HTP wicks and they do not work - lose hot throw midway through burn. We were told in another thread that self-centering wicks do not work in the 464 so if someone who is having success with the hot throw could give me a wick recommendation, I would really appreciate it. Thanks,
  10. Will somebody please tell me what hugging a pillar is? I have never made pillars but everytime I see that expression I wonder what it means. Thanks
  11. I use 2% with 415 and have never noticed that it inhibited the throw. I have also used it with EL soy with no problems.
  12. You can search for GW 464 Test Results and I think it is included in that thread. It always helps to say the same thing twice don't you think? I wish I knew how to delete one of these but I don't.
  13. Search for GW 464 Test Results. I think it is included in that thread.
  14. The KY Pure Soy is a great wax but I wanted something that I could pour hot. I'm relieved to know that the disappearing scent throw is not just my imagination. I have tried the 464 with only 8% FO and have encountered the same problem. I am going to try mixing it with Taylored Concepts 50/50 and see what happens. Thanks everyone for your help.
