  1. Thanx for the info Meg, I e-mailed her.
  2. oooopsies....doubled up on ya let's see if I can help...I have been using this wax for over a year now. Are you stirring well right before you pour? Did you get a new supply of wax? Just trying to think of some little things that might be making a difference PM'D YA:D

  4. WOW Moon, lots of testing and lots of Q's.... As far as the FO's, for whatever reason, not all of them will work w/all types of soy . I personally have not used the C-3. I have used the CBA for over a year, and do not have a "major" problem with the heat (I live in FL).It has been very consistent for me, but alot of people don't like it. If an FO did not throw @6%, I did not use it and also found that I could use less w/the darker heavier oils. I never use more than 9%. It sounds like you are leaning towards the 444....so I would say run w/that. You don't really want more than 1/3 - 1/2 " meltpool, cause your candle will burn faster and your FO will burn off sooner. Try not to overload yourself w/too much at one time....the joy of soy can drive you nuts HTH
  5. which one of the ecosoya waxes are you using? pure. cb135, or cba
  6. OKAY GAL....from what I was told, I believe you are on the right track w/the wicking-PLEASE keep us posted on this. I called Melissa @ SoyCandle.com- IF ANY OF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CALL HER, THEN PLEASE DO SO. She would welcome the opportunity to speak w/you. 1-866-375-8969 Melissa has pretty much confirmed that you CANNOT use self-trimming wicks w/the 464. I am going to test w/an RRD ('cause that's what I have here, besides the LX's). You also have to make sure that you keep your wax stirred after adding your FO, before you pour. Let's try and keep each other informed, because I know that I'd like to keep using this wax. :highfive: Also- what are some types of NON self-trimming wicks (sorry, I'm not familiar )
  7. hey Kerry, does adding the BW help w/the frosting? Just asking 'cause that's my biggest "pet-peeve".....I hate frosting.
  8. ooops, yes, u r right......I myself am looking to label the 4oz tubes.
  9. hey Gal, PLEASE let us know how those wicks are working. It'll be very interesting to see what happens. Maybe the paper cores will be the way to go w/this wax. I myself use RRD's some, but am currently switching to the LX's. I'm gonna make one tomorrow, but I'll have to wait 'til Thurs to test it.
  10. I sent a PM to Jason. Hopefully he'll chime in here soon .I will also call Melissa tomorrow.
  11. hhmmm....Ihope this isn't gonna be the case, 'cause I just bought 25# of it :rolleyes2 Perhaps we should get Jason in on this. I will also call Melissa and she was she has to say. I'll let you all know what happens.
  12. I'm gonna bump this up, 'cause I would like to know myself. I was thinking of a 2x3, but they are so hard to find.
  13. I posted a thread for FO% in 464, and also spoke w/Melissa @ SoyCandle.com.... most of the recomendations seem to be 8% FO. I mean, I don't know for sure, but perhaps you can try cutting back a bit??:undecided 'cause more is not always better.
  14. sometimes some of my candles will "sweat", when they are exposed to the warmth and humidity, but I cannot say that I have ever had one have that much FO "leak". I heat my wax to 155-160, and add FO ~ 140. I do also notice that it seems to only happen w/the darker/heavier FO's. Perhaps you might try cutting back w/that particular one. HTH
  15. well- it's been however many days that I poured that candle using the tempacuring.........and..........STILL NO FROSTING !! *getdown* :whoohoo:
  16. Is the FO you tested one that you've used before?? I mean, is it a normally strong or lighter FO?.....just wondering. And also, exactly how much is 8%, if 6% is 1oz pp :undecided. I'm also testing to reduce the frosting w/this wax- I'd prefer it be non-existent...lol. I'm trying what Jason had suggested, which is a process similar to "tempa - curing". Made a pale burgundy one today, and so far no frosting. I may not have let it set up enough the first time around. And it does have that very slight circular "crack" all the way around, about half way between the wick and the wall of the jar. Will keep you all posted
  17. how deep is the meltpool now? may not have let it burn long enough??? IMO you have to let a sq mason go at least 3 hrs, then go from there. HTH
  18. we all ordered from JustScent.com I just ordered 20 this morning.
  19. I decided to email Becky last night, to ask her about duplicating....she said 1 of each, no matter how many you order. I've never really tried her scents before, and to me, sometimes 1oz just isn't enough , KWIM?? One time I had a friend smell some FO I had just gotten (2oz) and she decided that she wanted me to make her up ALL of it!! Anyway, just thought I'd share this. I still might order :undecided
