  2. @Sarah S Kush oil is "supposed" to smell like pot, the one I buy doesn't, but it's a sultry, somewhat earthy scent with a touch of sweet tossed in. Thus far, my customers love it. I carry the body oil, as well, so they can wear it. A lot of people won't buy charcoal incense, so I stick to the wood. I get this one, as well as my patchouli at thecommonscents.com (a very true patchoui scent!). They carry 2000 scents, sticks, DPG, etc., as well as the body oils. They're in Utah, so decent shipping rates to me here in Arizona. I agree with Barefootgirl, if the oils are old, they may have a very "off" scent to them. Toss 'em n' buy some fresh. I've had some for years, with no off scent, but others...not so much. I hope this helps?
  3. Thank you, I did just that today, and my cart stayed intact. I did take advantage of their sale. As I remember right, Lone Star's FOs are kind of a "hit and miss", but since I haven't poured candles in a few years, I fail to remember which ones. Good thing I'm getting them so cheap
  4. Exactly what I was thinking. I was curious if anyone had made and burned it, and what kind of burn they got.
  5. It has to be paraffin, soy wax (unblended) needs to be in a container. It just seemed odd that there was only one wick hole in this mold. I'm going to try a zinc wick on this one, and see what kind of a burn I get.
  6. Is it just me, or does their cart just empty out while you're in the middle of shopping? Frustrating, to say the least!
  7. Holeeeey SMOKES, these are gorgeous! I love every one of these! Both of you are very talented! Love Donita's set, as well as the lines in the purple one, and yessss....earthy rustics! My goodness, I need more waxxxxxxxx!
  8. Oooooo! I don't see it on their site....is there a link?
  9. I bought this mold, and I actually thought it would be smaller. SO, it only has one wick hole and I'm concerned about whether the large amount of wax it will take to fill it will actually burn with only one wick? Has anyone made and burned this one?
  10. Thanks, Pam. I was pretty nervous about getting started..physically that is, lol! Mentally, I thought it all out and went by the guidance that I got here on Craft Server! I really appreciate the help! There certainly will be more to come, I have most of the week off for the time being, until we travel again in June...we're only working Sundays right now. LOVE IT, time to PLAY!
  11. Thank you so kindly, I wanted to start it out with white, then poke it with the skewer for the next layer, so that the yellow would flow in behind the white..then I just kept adding more dye chips to the green to make it go darker with each pour. Lemon=yellow then grass=green Took me most of the evening to pour it, LOL! SO much fun!
  12. Yes, only my second one. I never worked with paraffin until two nights ago...only soy container candles. Believe me, I had to think them both out very carefully for a few days and ask for advice here before I did these. Took me the better part of an evening to pour each of them, LOL! I was very surprised they came out so nice, and am very happy with them. Now I need to test burn them with the wicks I used to see how they burn. Pity to burn that Pyramid...I might have to make a solid one to burn instead.
  13. Hello, welcome Joey and Son
  14. Oh my, I am having way too much fun with this I scented this one in Lemongrass...
  15. Super nice, and I love the colors!
  16. Making my second one tonight. It was so fun to put this one together, took me most of the evening to pour it!
  17. Okaaaaay! I posted my first pillar in the candle gallery! Critiques?
  18. I know that SaveOnScents has a very beautiful Plumeria, it's called "Hawaiian Plumeria" and so far, it's the best I've ever "smelt". I hope this helps?
  19. Okay, so I've done it. Here is my first pillar candle, as well as my first use of paraffin wax. I like the way it turned out, put a lot of thought into how I wanted it to look....but wasn't sure just how this would turn out! It's scented with Frankincense & Myrrh. What do ya think?
  20. I agree with Scented, some fragrances are just not great in incense. I did research regarding the most popular, classic incense scents and went from there. I don't do much testing any more because I know what sells for me. I also use the 50/50 DPG mix. Here is a list of my best sellers, if it helps? Cherry Sandalwood Patchouli Sage Dragon's Blood Frankincense & Myrrh Vanilla Egyptian Vanilla (my own mix of very vanilla and Egyptian Musk, 50/50) Nag Champa Kush Very Berry Lavender Opium These are off the top of my head, but with these scents, you can't go wrong. They'll sell. I do add additional scents now and then. If I want to test them, I'll do a once ounce test on a bundle, then burn them to test the scent. If it stinks, I toss 'em. I once did a batch in chocolate decadence, it was lovely and mellow to burn. It didn't sell too well, but I like it and make it occasionally for us. If your sticks are drying out, you can re soak them in the same fragrance only, dry then bag n' tag. They'll smell just as good.
  21. Well, I'm working on that candle right now, wish me luck!
  22. ECCH, that Opium! @Sponiebr Yep, that's a particularly NASTY ONE for sure! I stopped making that one, hoping no one would notice it gone from the bins, lol! 2@Crafty1_AJ Your candle colors sure are festive! Do you use a wax dye or the liquid?
  23. Yes, Dragon's Blood is a really vomit inducing scent! It's a big seller in incense, so I'm "obligated" to make it. I once had a lady who owned a spa in Florida, and she would order my soy candles by the case in Lavender. Had to open all the windows with fans facing out when I made them, LOL!
  24. I was just reading about them a few nights ago...I may upgrade to that in the future, it looks like a great idea! Most places we "dock" the RV in provide picnic tables in our site (we usually stay in RV "resorts"), and that would give me more space to work with. We also have 3 of the 6 foot tables I can put outdoors to work on. Where there's a will there's always a way!
