  1. Yes, I have used this in GB 444 soy wax. It has a great cold/hot throw. Smells very good, but it is sweet and almost fruity, if that makes sense. It doesn't have the warm pipe tobacco smell I want.
  2. Poured a tester this afternoon <3 Fingers crossed it's wicked correctly!
  3. I love the natural look of those. You are so crafty!
  4. I know this was posted a while ago, but wanted to say that I bought both Vanilla Voodoo and Patchouli Dreams (and Sun-warmed Sandalwood, too) from Candle Cocoon and yes! The vanilla is a very sweet, like frosting IMO, but it's lovely and my husband loves it. I also added a touch of it to the sandalwood and omg... that mix is awesome. I am in love with that fragrance! Patchouli smells great as well, perhaps a little weak (I used less than 6% as instructed on the bottle). Haven't burned it yet so we'll see, then maybe up the percentage for the next batch.
  5. Goldie - Sorry, Bath and Body Works. I got tired of typing it haha
  6. I like Kentucky Bourbon from Aztec. It has a sweet note to it, not so harsh. Good scent throw. Haven't tried mixing it with anything yet..
  7. I've poured a couple of 4 oz. candles using WSP's iced tea twist. Cold throw rocks (and it smells just like BBW)! It's so hard to wait, I just want to burn them right now. Patience... Sigh.
  8. Just2B - Definitely not necessary, but you're kind to say that, so thank you
  9. Hi there! I'm in SoCal, too (military transplant- previously from Tennessee). These boards are an awesome way to talk to people who share your interests and learn some great tips and techniques Welcome and good luck on your candle endeavors!
  10. I was just checking prices and guess what? BA's patchouli is $56/lb. What. If I buy from Lebermuth it is $35.90/lb, plus the $20 fee if I buy less than $300 of product... so they come out to essentially the same cost. Just made this realization and I can't believe I didn't notice it before. D'oh.
  11. A few of you have mentioned that candles don't look as lovely after a few months of sitting on shelves - and I have a question. I have several (soy 444) in my candle "studio" that I made in mid-October and by now many have a slight, frosty discolored ring, right around the edge of the jar, on the tops. Is this normal? Is there something I can do to prevent it? In your experience, are these candles worthy to sell, or will people be turned off by the discoloration? They burn just fine, I'm just not excited about the tops.
  12. Following this post, because I have run into the same dilemma and am curious what everyone thinks. (Sorry I don't have any advice of my own!)
  13. Thanks for the suggestion, Moonshine. As of right now I ordered a sample of the iced tea twist from WSP, so we'll see how that does! According to the reviews, it's a dead ringer for the BBW tea & lemon. Fingers crossed.
  14. Aztec Candle has a "Kentucky bourbon" that smells pretty good. I wasn't fond of "whiskey" from Candle Science, personal preference.
  15. Coffeebean - I'm interested to hear what you think about the FB patch! Still liking my BA patch, but there's just something compelling me to try more options. I may have a problem. Just ordered some from Candle Cocoon (along with vanilla voodoo - excited to try that!). Sooo, so far with patchouli I have tried: 1) Nature's Garden - Too perfume-y. Very fake. 2) Fillmore - Scent was more true. Cold throw decent, hot throw not so great (so far - I'll keep working with it). 3) Bulk Apothecary - STRONG! Overwhelming oob, but after curing is tolerable & much more earthy. (My husband says it smells like dirt, but in a good way - which is high praise coming from him! lol). Great cold & hot throw. 4) Aztec - Haven't put it in wax yet, but oob it smells VERY sweet. Very much like vanilla or honey. Not sure what I think about that. Meh. 5) Candle Cocoon - review forthcoming...
  16. I have only ordered test fragrances so far from BA, but I thought they smelled nice and threw well in my candles. Yes, a bit pricey. Someone mentioned the patchouli they sell is the same as Lebermuth's, but I haven't tried that one so I can't compare... I'd love to know if that's true, though.
  17. I am looking into Candle Soylutions' "southern iced tea", maybe mixing with a touch of lemon drop. Haven't dug very far into options for mixing yet. I will look up the ice tea twist, thanks for the suggestion!
  18. A friend of mine recently asked if I had a candle similar to BBW Home's "London Calling - Tea & Lemon", as it was her favorite and discontinued. Has anyone duped this or have suggestions? I'll probably end up ordering black tea and lemon fragrances separately to test a few out, but I thought I'd ask!
  19. It does sound like they are a bit too soft... I package mine individually, in little cello bags tied with twine, and it works for me. Mine are pretty solid tarts, though, as I used a pillar blend.
  20. Love this idea and seeing everyone's page! https://www.facebook.com/vieveshop
  21. I love #1 with the font changed. The forest silhouette as a background really gives it some character, and it's easy to read. I could definitely see it in a western setting. Thumbs up!
  22. Darn, sorry to hear that TT. Someone mentioned early on that he noticed it on sale (which I never did see), but it made me think that it might be discontinued soon. Never looked further into that, though.
  23. I'd be interested to try a pound from Lebermuth. I've never done a co-op before so keep me posted if it ends up working out!
