  1. Hi Janet, I just poured this same wax today to test. It is new for me. I did ask on the temp board for some tips on pouring this wax and this is what Geek replied: Heat to 185 degrees Add FO at 175 degrees Pour at around 130 degrees into room temp jars. Cool open air in warm room (75 degrees). May need to poke & heat gun. I week cure time. Geek seems to really know this wax and hopefully he will pick up on this thread. Good luck!
  2. Thought I would jump in and ask for the web addy for Liberty Natural if you don't mind, I must have missed it. Have you ordered from them yet?
  3. Wow! The look great! I like the color combinations. What wax did you use?
  4. You need to make the file smaller. It is way too large to upload. You will need to use a phote editing software (like Adobe Photo Elements) to downsize it. Good luck!
  5. I live in Oregon outside of Sandy , out in the boondocks. I will see what I can do about sending you some of our rain. I wish that I lived in Idaho. It is so beautiful there!
  6. Please post back with the results from your dye chip test, I would be interested to know what you ended up with. Good luck!
  7. A big wavy back at ya! I buy from Peaks but didn't realize that they sold both waxes Thanks for the tip! Hey, we are almost neighbors :whoohoo:
  8. Can I ask where you found the gw 415 & 444? The closest to me is Glorybee and they weren't carrying it the last time I checked. And btw welcome to the board.
  9. Ok. I will try that pouring slower and tapping. I have never had to tap the jars before but there is a first time for everything. The heatgun should fill up the big ugly cater. Thanks for the help.
  10. Take a look at this candle and tell me what you think that I did wrong... I used CBA, liquid dye (red & purple), Greenleaf Mulberry FO. Melted wax to 185 and added dye. Added FO @ 175 and stir, stir, stir. Poured at around 115. I poured 12 candles the same size but with different scents and colors, 6 brown, 3 pink and 3 purple (the color in the pic). All three of the purple candles look exactly the same as the pic I am posting and the tops on all of the other candles look just fine. I have never had this happen with this wax before but I must admit that I have mostly poured brown, red and yellow candles. I've puzzled and puzzled on this until my puzzler was sore
  11. I use that very same wax and where you get your fo makes a big difference as I have learned from this board. I have found that the longer you can let them cure the better they throw. I have 8 oz jj's that I had tested a couple days after pouring that didn't throw worth a darn but after a few months, the same batch same scent, they would knock your socks off! Most folks can't wait that long and need to get them to market so it really does come down to reading, asking and testing to figure out what works well for you. As you read this board you will find that there are other waxes that are said to throw better right off the bat. Don't be afraid to try them you may find something that you like better. That being said, welcome and good luck
  12. Kelly, I find my clear silicone on the store isle (at the hardware store) with the bathroom caulk. Home Depot has the stuff in the paint section. I think the black stuff is for automotive use. GE Silicone II works real well like some else had posted. But remember, once you get it "stuck" it is a real bugger to remove if you want to reuse the jar. Once it is stuck, it is stuck! There may be a trick to removing the tab that I don't know about. It doesn't take that long for the silicone to set up. I put my jars in the oven set as low as it will go for something like 15 minutes or so. I've never had one come loose-knock on wood. BTW I don't wash my jars before applying the silicone. I'm just lazy I guess.
  13. I use that same wax with the htp wicks. The wick that works well for me in the 8 oz jj's is the 83's. Good luck!
  14. Well I'm no expert by a long shot but it looks pretty good to me. There may be someone that can chime in to critique it for you. What wax did you use and did you fo it? Yep, you are hooked now and there isn't a cure
  15. Looks like the colors can be stacked one on top of the other. So what color would I need to use to get a peach? I use the liquid dyes. Thanks for all the advice. You guys are great!
  16. Hummm... I like those suggestions. Makes me think of maybe a swirl effect. Thanks!!
  17. I saw some of those 4oz jellies at two different grocery stores today. I just love those little jars.
  18. This fo has me stumped for a good color. Anyone know what color "Sex on the Beach" should or could be?:undecided Brown for a tan or pink for.....well you know, :embarasse marbled or no color at all? Any thoughts???
  19. I like it! Looks like Raspberry jam to me!
  20. I buy from Millcreek and Peaks. I have tried a few other vendors but found that I like these the best. Yep we do live in rain country don't we?
  21. I am from the Sandy area and have ordered from Glory Bee. I thought they were pretty quick about processing and shipping my order. I purchased CBA and FO from them. I didn't care much for the FO. It's been a while since I ordered from the website but it didn't have much info on the wax so I called them. They were helpful and did answer my questions. I think the catalog has a little more info but not a whole lot. Good luck!
  22. Yep, I had the same results with the Glue Dots. They would not work for me. I tried them in clean jars, dirty jars, warm jars and cold jars. I do not like them in the jars. I do not like them Sam I am.
  23. How do you get the wick tab out of the container after the silicone has set up and how much silicone do you use on the wick tab a dot or glob?
  24. Thanks all for the votes. Looks like BC is the place for stickems. Nothin' I hate more than a non sticking sticker!
