  1. Thanks for the help Candle Man.:smiley2:
  2. I just started making scrubs recently and was wondering what kind of testing would be involved before you start selling them. I haven't perfected anything just yet and I'm not ready to sell yet either, but I would like to sell them someday. I usually work with candles and know what goes into testing them - just not sure about the b&b products. Like once the recipe is perfected and I think it works good what would I be looking for after that? Thanks for any help. Budgie
  3. I can right click and copy too in Firefox without a problem.
  4. Hi Henry. I use BW with the 135 and I still get a ring where I've burned it - though not all the time. I don't color my candles, but I do get a ring of darker color where there was a melt pool. The BW will stop the crater look with certain scents, but not all of them. In some scents it looks just as bad as it would without the BW. I've never used more than 2.5% BW otherwise I get cracks and hidden sink holes - but that's just my experience. HTH
  5. I agree with that! I sell body butter in an 8 oz double walled jar and tried to switch one time to an 8 oz clear PET jar. No one would buy it - not even my own mother! She said she didn't want it because the other jars looked bigger. I finally gave up and used them for bath salts instead.
  6. This is what I am understanding that to mean. I need to put in less oil/water because with less dry ingr. it will be too wet if I don't. I hope I got that right.
  7. Thanks Jenny. Now when you say change the oil/water amounts what exactly do you mean? Would I add more oil and less water? or less of both? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I'm new at this and I'm not sure how to properly tweak a recipe.:embarasse
  8. I list my ingredients on my website for those who might have allergies. I'm allergic to corn and I can't use/eat anything with corn in it. It's surprising how many personal use items have corn in them. I personally would never buy from a site that didn't list it's ingredients because I wouldn't want to pay to send it back or not be able to use it.
  9. I am thinking of trying my hand at these. I've been using premade bases for my B&B line but would like to branch out a bit. Anyway, I've seen lots of recipes for these and they all include cornstarch. I'm just wondering if there is another ingredient I can substitute for this as I am allergic to corn. I could still make them if there isn't, I just couldn't use them. Thanks for any help.
  10. Oooh, I bought one of those once. It was Back Seat of My Car. Smelled sooooo good!
  11. Actually, it's not: http://www.illumecandles.com/
  12. The first & third ones are both nice, but I think I'm leaning more towards the third one. It seems a bit more balanced to me.
  13. Beth, I was wondering if it could be the labels because I hadn't had this problem until I started using their labels. Well, at least I only got about 10-20 sheets of each label, so I haven't wasted that much money. I think I'll still look into getting a laser printer though. I've been printing so much more lately and running through ink cartridges too fast. Thanks everybody for your help and suggestions. BTW, does anyone have any suggestions on a good/decent color laser printer? Budgie
  14. I use a headset with my phone and can't imagine ever having to hold a phone up to my ear again. I love it!! The headsets are pretty easy to find. Office Max & Circuit City have them. I'm always doing other things while talking on the phone (I get bored easily:smiley2:) so the headsets really work out well.
  15. Actually, my test pages don't even print right. The only thing I can get to print properly are some address labels from Office Max. It just makes no sense to me.:undecided Do you mind if I ask what printer you use? I was considering getting a photo printer or a laser printer. Leaning more toward the laser, but I don't have the money for it right now. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. Budgie
  16. Same here. Lots of wasted labels and LOTS of swearing!
  17. Thanks for the suggestion Georgia. I'll give that a try and see what happens.
  18. Yeah, I've tried flipping it over too. The problem is, on one sheet it will only print right on the second row and it has six rows, so I have four rows of labels that I can't print on. It's so frustrating!!! Maybe I'll just have to learn to live with it.
  19. Does anyone else have this problem? I print all my labels myself with labels from onlinelabels.com. They're all rectangle labels of various sizes. Everything is lined up in the program as it should be but when I print, it will only print properly on the first or second row of labels. Then it starts moving up until the top is completely off the label. I've tried 2 different programs. I'm using Print Shop right now. I've also tried printing business cards off of Publisher and they won't line up properly on the paper either - it keeps moving off to the side. I'm thinking it's the printer. It's a Lexmark - inkjet printer. I was thinking of switching to a laser printer, but not sure I want to spend the money if I'm going to keep having the same problems. Anybody know what could possibly be the problem?:undecided Thanks for any help. Budgie
  20. I don't know if it's the norm or not, but it happens to me too.:undecided
  21. I've had that happen to me before too. It only works for me periodically. I just check each day to see if it works and eventually it does. Usually only takes a day. I still have no idea why it happens.:undecided
  22. I think that sounds good. Then you don't have to worry about anyone being confused.
