  1. I LOVE Peak's Caramel Apple. It's a great scent and it throws really well. I tried BCN's but I didn't like it as much. Never burned it, so I don't know about the scent throw. HTH
  2. I would love a magazine like that! I'd like to see articles about wholesaling too.
  3. Ugh! I've had problems with Candles & Supplies mixing up scents before. I ordered their Red Currant and when I reordered it, it smelled like Red Hot Cinnamon. I called them up and they sent a new one that smelled exactly the same. Called them up again and they insisted that Red Currant is suppse to smell like Cinnamon. I said that perhaps it was mislabeled since Red Hot Cinnamon is the next scent on the list but they refused to admit that it could possibly be their fault. After about 5 months of this I finally got a replacement of the real Red Currant but that was the last time I ever ordered from them again.
  4. I like the label. I think it looks great! The only thing I would change would be to get rid of the word "scent". I think if you just have "jasmine" there it's pretty obvious that that is what the scent is.
  5. Is this what you were looking for? http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Seasonal+Jars&product%5Fid=BEEJ%2DL
  6. I think that's a good idea. I would love to hear what you have to say too.
  7. I made 2 candles yesterday. Room temp was about 80 & I didn't use wicks. The first one I heated to 175 and added 9% Raspberry FO. I poured at 137 and I got a hole in the top - just off to the side of where the wick would have been. When I hit it with the heat gun no extra air bubbles came up. The second one I heated to 170 and added 5% Wild Mountain Berry FO. I poured at 125 and the top was nice and smooth. Tried to post pics but it didn't work. Cold throw is good. No wet spots on the Wild Mountain Berry, but lots of wet spots on the Raspberry. Will try and burn today or tomorrow and see what happens.
  8. Hey Michi, I'm curious to know if you got your tumblers yet - I'd like to know what you think of them.
  9. That's really weird. I just bought 72 8oz. bottles with caps and it only cost a little over $15 to ship - and I live on the west coast! Maybe they just over estimated on the website.:undecided
  10. Geek & Island Girl - your candles look great!:smiley2: This sounds like a really good wax. I can't wait to get my sample.
  11. Glass containers Tins Tarts The containers by far sell the best for me. Tarts sell ok, but I've found a lot of people don't know what to do with them. I don't make the other products. HTH:)
  12. I too think the glossy paper would look more professional. I think you would still want to have a professional appearance even if you have a "hand crafted" look but that's JMO. I don't think you would need to have glossy labels though. I think the matte labels would be better for the "hand crafted" look.
  13. BizzyB did my logo and she did a great job. Very fast! I would highly recommend her.
  14. WOW!! That's insane! I have insurance through Farmer's for candles & B&B and it runs a little over $1,000/year. They are the only company I could find to cover me.
  15. Thanks again Soya. I'll just try a single pour and pour at a much cooler temp like I usually do and see how that works out.
  16. Thanks Soya. I heated to 175 and then added fragrance. I stirred gently and tried not to create too many bubbles, but I noticed a lot of bubbles when the wax was heating up. Did you have that too? 1st time I poured at 150 and then poked holes and did a repour at 160. 2nd time I poured at 125 and did a repour at 130 or 135. The second one turned out a little better but not much. Temp in the room was 80. Are you just doing a single pour?
  17. Wow that looks great! Can I ask what you did to get it to look so good? I'm working with the all natural blend right now and I can't get the tops to look that good. There is always a crack by the wick and then when I hit it with the heat gun it looks even worse.:undecided I've been using it according to their directions too.
  18. I'd like to know how you like these too. I was looking at them a few months back but forgot all about them. I like that they have lids for them now.
  19. I've used both the 449 and the 135 and in my experience, the 449 did throw better.
  20. I used to make votives and shrink wrap them. I sealed off the top and sides to make it a tight fitting bag and then I pushed the votive in and sealed the bottom with a warning label. There wasn't a lot of excess shrink wrap and my votives always came out perfectly smooth. When I used to seal my pillars though, they were always bumpy because I used shrink bags and there was always so much extra shrink wrap on the sides.
  21. I've used their scents before and I really like them. Their Pumpkin Pie is really good and one of my best sellers. I love Cinnabuns too. They throw great in soy too - both hot & cold. I don't think I've ever used one of their scents and it didn't throw well.
  22. I haven't used GloryBee before but I use Swan's on occaision - http://www.swanscandles.com/ They are located in Washington. They ship really fast and they are really nice and have good customer service.
