  1. Candle Cocoon's Lavender Lullaby is really nice, and very strong!
  2. Same as everyone else has said! They're really great! Can't say enough good stuff about them.
  3. Great instructions, Luci! Thanks! You can also set this up in Word with "landscape" orientation rather than "portrait." Using landscape orientation, the page is 11-1/2 inches wide and 8-1/2 inches high - allows more columns that way.
  4. Thanks again! I've got a pretty good list of lilac FOs to sample going here...
  5. Thanks again folks! I'm going to order samples of the FOs mentioned.
  6. Wow, thanks a bunch to everyone for all the replies! I wonder if I should try lowering my percentage and see what that does... maybe it would do better. Course, it's always fun to test FOs from lots of other places too. Grumpy - you sound like me with Patchouli - can't smell it in wax - and I own a sample from every supplier out there I think. Must have burned out the Patchouli chip for wax back in the 60s and 70s.
  7. Thanks very much for the replies! I'll have to give CC's a try too - I love her FOs! I thought both Peak's and KY's were plenty strong... sort of have to wonder if maybe my tester is getting candle nose or something. I know she burns different candles in different rooms at the same time. I'm using 9% but could go to 10% with my wax; however, that seems unnecessary to me since I think the throw is pretty darned good at 9%. ::sigh:: Thanks again! Your help is much appreciated.
  8. I'm looking for a really strong Lilac FO. I've tried Peak's Lilac and KY's Fresh Lilac (both at 9%), but my floral scent tester doesn't think either of them are strong enough. :undecided Does anyone know of one that's really kicka$$ in a parasoy blend wax? I use IGI 6006. Thanks a million for any ideas at all.
  9. Yeah... that's the problem - when it's gone it's gone. You'll have to post your results when you test it! I'd love to know how it does for you.
  10. Hi there Holly! I have this oil and have used it at 9% in IGI 6006. I don't find it as strong as most of CC's FOs. It's a nice spicy fragrance - not overpowering at all, yet still strong enough to give a good throw. I detect mostly the clove, but the orange is there too. It's been a hit with my testers that like spicy scents. HTH!
  11. I love my heat gun too! I got mine at Home Depot too, for about $30. It has 2 temperature settings. No attachments came with it, but I haven't felt I needed anything.
  12. The creme brulee that I use does the clump thing. I put the FO bottle in fairly warm water (around 150-175 or so) and just let it sit, shaking it every so often. The clumps take quite a while to dissolve, but they eventually do. I haven't noticed any degradation in the strength of the oil or anything like that. I was told that the vanilla in the oil tends to clump when it gets cold...
  13. I do exactly the same, with good results. I wonder if there's any difference between the refined and unrefined regarding the graininess. I use unrefined - never tried whipping the refined stuff.
  14. If I understand correctly what Carole is using, it is EVDO and it isn't the same as wi-fi wireless. It is fairly new technology, was developed for business and IS secure. I use it as my main internet connection because I too live in the country with nothing else available except satellite (which I dealt with for several years). I use Verizon and it costs $60 a month for the high-speed Rev-A version. I have an aircard that is in my desktop (through a conversion card) that I can take out and put in a laptop. Very slick!
  15. Hi Carole! Here's the main link: http://forcraftssake.com/shop/ I've had a Delsie for a couple of years, but it's sort of klunky to use - these look much better. I think 3/4 to 1 inch is the usual size, especially if you want to use the soap boxes that are available.
  16. You're most welcome WickedWanda! I hope it works as well for you as it has for me!
  17. I want to say a big thank you to Fredron for his idea of the styrofoam box for cooling jar candles with 6006 wax. I had some 2-inch styrofoam lying around after an insulating job. I built a box by cutting pieces to size and gluing them to the outsides and bottom of a box that a case of jars came in. Then I cut another piece to make a lid. I left the cardboard separators inside the box. Now when I make jar candles, I put them in the box to cool overnight. They cool really slowly, and it's just about totally eliminated all the problems with sink holes and dips in my jar candles. So thanks again!!!
  18. I use 6006 and had the problem with the holes too. A suggestion was posted by Fredron to use a styrofoam box - so I tried that and all my problems went away. Now I get nice smooth tops without the sink holes. Many thanks to Fredron!
  19. Oh wow! So cute!! And here I thought I was being original with that pan!! I love it!!! I got mine at Kitchen Crafts through Amazon.com a while back - and also paid $32. I haven't figured out how to sell them. Mine don't all weigh the same... a couple of the shapes weigh less than the others. Maybe sell them 2 in a pack?
  20. Cool, cool!!! I haven't ordered from them yet, but I will now! Thanks for posting this, Holly!
  21. I believe the canaries were used to test for "carbon monoxide" presence in the mines rather than "carbon emissions."
  22. Thanks Fredron! I have some scraps of this lying around here and was thinking it just might work - good to know it actually does for you. I'm going to give it a try! Lori
  23. I just set up with them myself - just this week in fact! They are great! I could not believe how helpful they were! And fast too! Lori
