  1. I use the 1-ounce amber glass bottles I get sample FOs in from Bramble Berry. They're wide mouth, have a pretty narrow shoulder so the FO drains out easily, and work perfectly! But I've used votive molds too - and those work really, really well. I like using votive holders too. Lori
  2. Hi Dani, If you have Green Leaf's 70/30, you can go to the Green Leaf forum and they have a stickie thread there on wicks and jar sizes. Hopefully this link will work for you: http://www.greenleafcandlesupply.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=1581 If it doesn’t - it's under "green leaf candle talk > general" HTH Lori
  3. Here's one place: http://www.frontiercandlepackaging.com/Floaters.html HTH Lori
  4. Bramble Berry has some cotton wicks with colored threads in them - could it be these? http://www.brambleberry.com/candle_supplies.html HTH, Lori
  5. Good to know, Carole! Thanks!
  6. For less than a month, looks like you're doing terrific!
  7. I think your candles are lovely! Are those 4-ounce tins? I really like the clear labels on them like that! I like your jars too! Lori
  8. Yep - I'm with you on that one, Stephanie!
  9. I just thought I'd add an update on Peak's Fresh Brewed Coffee (aka skunk). I let the votives sit for a couple of weeks, closed up in a cardboard box. I'm burning one right now, and it actually smells pretty good - very much like fresh brewed coffee (black, single shot, no flavoring). Even still, I don't know if I'd want to go through the pouring process with this FO again. Lori
  10. Hi! I use the ultrafine glitter at MMS - it doesn't say it's mica...? I only use it on the top of one of my soaps and it's really nice - not the least bit scratchy. Since I do CP, I never tried mixing it in. Here's the link (hope this works...) http://www.thesage.com/catalog/Glitter.html?mmsID=8409510ff702f699d025b04591e14423 ETA - Bramble Berry has glitter too (listed separately from micas) http://www.brambleberry.com/micas.html#glitter HTH, Lori
  11. Hi Stephanie! I had the exact same "fragrance" with Fresh Brewed Coffee from Peaks when I first poured it in votives and tarts! My whole shop smelled like a skunk had been in there (and I live in the country so was a wonderin' there...)!! It was really, really strong - made me sick! After a couple of weeks it kind of mellowed out on the cold throw, but I haven't been able to bring myself to burn it again yet! So it's not just you or your wax - I put it in IGI 4794 paraffin! Lori
  12. Hi again! Congratulations on getting your labels done!! To my knowledge, you can't save a Word *.doc file as a *.jpg file - JPG is mainly for graphic/photo files. Maybe I'm missing something, but your labels should print for you without a problem as a *.doc file. Lori
  13. Thanks for starting this thread! I've been trying to figure out what that note was in Vanilla Bliss - I was thinking burnt sugar sort of, but I think you guys have nailed it with maple! I like the Vanilla from Let It Shine - reminds me of Vanilla Voodoo from Candle Cocoon. Lori
  14. KY Candle Supply Peaks Green Leaf Snowtop To name a few off the top of my head. Lori
  15. I was just able to download it just now without any problem. Did you left click on the file name? That's all I did, then chose to save it to my desktop. I'm using Firefox if that makes any difference. You can create a label in Publisher by just following her directions/example on the website too - you don't really need the template. Lori
  16. If you have MS Publisher, here's a place to start: http://www.geocities.com/blueaspenoriginals/soaplabel.html HTH! Lori
  17. I just placed a small order with them yesterday evening - it was my first with this vendor. On the site it said that the shipping is way off in the cart (I think it was on one of the cart pages if I remember correctly) and to put a note in the comment box if you want them to call you with the correct shipping charges before charging your card and sending your order. I did the note thing, and they called me right away early this morning and gave me the correct shipping charges (1/3 what the cart showed). It ended up costing me $6 for Priority Mail to WA state, which is about right I believe. HTH someone, Lori
  18. Thanks to all the posts on here about this person, I put her link in my bookmarks and renamed it "Do not order from here - Almost Heaven" so I wouldn't forget! Thanks everybody! Lori
  19. Hi Holly, I know I'm late replying to this thread, but I have a sample pack of paper wicks from BCN if you want me to send you a few. I'm in Washington too - near Spokane - might be quicker than waiting for a supplier if you haven't already ordered (we are most definitely supplier-challenged around here!). PM me if you want me to send you a few... Lori
  20. I'll second that thanks for the help to newbies! I've learned so incredibly much over the past year or so here (before and after signing up). Lori
  21. I do - I have one Presto Pot for container wax and one for votive wax. Lori
  22. LOVE her Creme Brulee! I agree with everyone else - everything she has is great!
