  1. Like the colors. Did you mix it or use gold. Have been trying to come up with a nice gold color.
  2. Great results especially the duck one! Like the colors too:D
  3. For small amounts, I put my FO in a glass votive holder and then put the holder in a bowl of hot tap water (and stir a couple of times with a bamboo stick). Again, be careful to wipe the votive holder off with a paper towel so water doesn't drip into the wax when you are pouring the FO into it.
  4. They turned out really well. Think you can use this remelt technique again:wink2:
  5. If you live near an IKEA, they have metal measuring pots in their pots and pan section. I use the ones that hold about 2Lbs. of wax for pouring smaller amounts.
  6. Love it. Like the dragonfly too.
  7. The only time I buy anything like that is when I can use Michael's 40% off coupons that they seem to put in our local newspaper once a month. They are very expensive.
  8. Guess its too late to say ocean:rolleyes2 . Nice effect.
  9. Nice work. I have some vanilla pillars I want to redo and you've given me some ideas with these colors:grin2:
  10. Nice candles. Like the layering. Not one of my favorite FOs, but I think I'm alone on this.
  11. They look great, even if they do look blue
  12. Yes, you have to have the water higher up the pot. I use a hot plate and a fairly deep sauce with water in it.. Then I put the pouring pot in the water. I also keep a jug of water near, to refill the sauce pan. The highest i've been able to get the temp up to is between 190 - 200 degrees. I use a presto pot just to melt the wax, but often use the double boiler method to do repours.
  13. That's why I like this board. Have been a member for a long time and learn something new everyday. The twisted wick, hmmm, will have to try that too. I also think that the composition of my next layer was a little different. Perhaps too much color was added and th wick clogged. Anyhow, "food for thought".
  14. Thanks, Eugenia. I will add vybar next time. I actually made similar ones from 1242 which is a blend and they went rustic as well. Have a case of the 1245 and am trying to get results from is (can't get 1343 here). Have been using wick pins trying to get the right wick.
  15. Really inspiring. Looks like you've got a great thing going.
  16. You've insoired me to make another hurricane try:grin2:
  17. Mozzie those sare so pretty. You are doing really well with the crackle technique too.
  18. Sorry. Wax is 1245 pure paraffin mp about 140. 3tbsp pp steric, 4% FO pp. 3in diameter mold. Cold Pour. tried 30 Flat ply first and it was great on the first burn. On the second burn, the wax melted the whole top and overflowed in about 1 1/2 hours, so the wax wasn't being consumed. Tried the 24 and on the seond burn the wick almost went out. So tried hotter wicks like HTP. They were OK, but the flames were like torches. It appears that the second layer of was is acting differently than the first. Was wondering how many have had this problem with making layered candles.
