  1. I was wondering if a FO could be used as a Pot Pourri oil, both in and out of a warmer. Also, what about putting it in one of those metal rings you put on a light bulb? I guess that would probably get it too hot and you might have a bit of a problem once it reached its flash point.
  2. We do print them (and our labels and business cards) ourselves and it is a one page 5x7. Our printer (Epson R800) is capable of printing thick card stock and even thicker paper that would need to be inserted from the back. Thank you for your compliments.
  3. It must state "Net Wt." on it. If you want, I can post the website for the federal regs on labeling.
  4. JS Chestnuts & Brown Sugar smells like caramel in my Comfort Blend wax. I even call this one Caramel Candy.
  5. Here's a copy of mine. It's printed on 5x7 medium card stock (67#) in ivory. On the back, we have tips about the importance of trimming the wick.
  6. Sorry, can't say that I have but I'd be interested.
  7. I love Captivatingly Currant. Throws great in Comfort Blend.
  8. Vanilla of Pearl is from JS. One of my best sellers.
  9. I've only tried Just Scent's Amber Romance and it's my best seller. I can't keep it in stock. Personally, I hate floral scents but my customers love it.
  10. Is Grand Scentral ever going to come back online? Has anyone heard anything?
  11. try this. I just googled "victorian house clip art" http://www.fotosearch.com/clip-art/victorian-house.html Oops, I just looked more into it and it's not free. Sorry.

  13. Avery's Design Pro. It's free and you can customize it for any size or shape label you want. http://avery.com/us/Main?action=software.AverySoftwareDetail&catalogcode=WEB01&softwarecode=3200
  14. C'mon, Michi. Where's that info everyone's asking for? I want one too. Looks like you have a ton of support here.
  15. I got mine from Old Will Knott but check out their ebay auctions - they're much cheaper there. I got the My Weigh Ultraship 75 scale that measures to 1/10 of an ounce up to 2# and 1/2 ounce to 75#. It ended up being $40.01 including shipping.
  16. FO's don't always weigh the same. Some, like vanilla, are much heavier than say, fruit slices or clean cotton. If you're going to create a consistent product, you NEED to weigh them.
  17. Who has the best (most authentic) Chocolate covered strawberries FO? I have been playing around with mixing combinations of Strawberry, Strawberry Jam, Chocolate Truffle and Hot Cocoa in varying proportions. I think the problem is that each oil has a different weight. The lighter one will float to the top so the candle will smell more like that at the beginning and more like the heavier one toward the end. This is just a theory so far because I haven't burned them enough to verify this. I've seen that a couple of places carry the FO but was hoping for some reviews from some people who have tried them. TIA
  18. I have to disagree with what Sharyl says about only the phone number. Federal regulation (section 500.5 c) states: "The statement of the place of business shall include the street address, city, State, and Zip Code; however, the street address may be omitted if it is shown in a current city directory or telephone directory." As far as the Net Wt, you will need to weigh the finished candle, subtract the container weight then round up to the nearest ounce. I believe the regulations also state that it must also be noted in metric (i.e. “Net Weight 12 oz. (340 g)”). In addition, the text has to be a certain size and separated by a certain distance - depending on the size of the label. I know it's not fun to read but it's always better to CYA. 19. I'd jump on that in a heart beat! I would love to find something like that. How hard would it be to re-coup that much in sales every month? I think it would be a sure bet that you would be able to make a huge profit every month.
  20. Looks like Bruce is going to have some competition!
  21. Here ya go, Scented: http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=49
  22. Thank you everyone for your ideas. I'm going to look into each and every one of them. I have a friend in Dallas and family in Houston. Problem is that I only have a 4 door car and half the back seat is taken up by a 2 1/2 year old. San Antonio is about 1 1/2 hrs away (victory pack.). Hadn't thought about the Yellow Pages -- D'oh! I get so caught up in shopping online and thinking that's where all the best deals are.
  23. I haven't tried it with soy added but in the 8 oz square mason jars, I was using CD wicks and they probably averaged 12 to 14.
  24. Where do you get your boxes for shipping? I'm going to need several sizes. The UPS store is VERY expensive ($2 each for an 8x8x8 when buying 25 or more). I'm looking into USPS but I'm not finding a large variety of sizes. Online, I've found a couple places. So far the best one looks like Uline.com. They have a huge variety and the price per box seems good but the shipping is a bit up there. I put about $130 of boxes in my cart and the shipping was going to be close to $60. With the shipping, it was going to be an average of $1.30 each (better than UPS). Any suggestions of where to get them cheap and local would be very much appreciated.
