  1. Old Will Knott. This is the one I got from him and I love it. Much cheaper on his ebay auctions than his web site. http://cgi.ebay.com/ULTRASHIP-75-DIGITAL-SHIPPING-SCALE-SILVER-AC-SS-TRAY_W0QQitemZ9525425659QQcategoryZ109753QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem More accurate and cheaper than this one:
  2. I do sachets of aroma beads and get my organza bags from www.papermart.com. Even with shipping, they're about 1/2 the price of Michael's. That's not saying much cause Michael's is so expensive anyway. Also, to keep the fragrance in, I put them in polypropelene ziplock bags (also from papermart). They must be polypropelene. The scent will leak through polyethelene bags.
  3. I've been burning the Fantasia de Cioccolata from JS for a few days now. This oil smells so incredible OOB that I keep sniffing the empty sample bottle. Since I put it in wax, let it cure and burned it, I can now smell some of the berries that I smell OOB but none of the chocolate. I'm not too sure how to describe it. It's not a bad throwing oil but it's not extremely strong either. This test has been in Comfort Blend and I use JS oils almost exclusively. This is the first oil that has transformed this drastically. If anyone else has any experience with this oil, please post your results.
  4. Sure wish you had some pics to post. I need a good laugh.
  5. OK, the Fantasia de Cioccolata in wax (Comfort Blend) smells completely different. I'm not too sure what it smells like yet but I definitely don't smell the berries and chocolate like I did OOB. I'll post another review once I've burned it for a bit. It's had 5 days to cure so I'll probably start burning it tonight. Wish me luck!
  6. Oh no Top. You didn't just say that.
  7. You definitely get a good coffee base with this one. There's just the right amount of cinnamon too. I don't smell much caramel but my DW thinks it smells just like a caramel machiato (sp?). In fact, 10 minutes after smelling it OOB, she was in the car heading to starbucks. Seriously!
  8. Start with the Caramel Cinnamon Latte
  9. I closed my eyes, cleared the previous suggestions on this post from my mind and thought about what "Ruby Tuesday" would smell like. For no good reason at all, I smelled a combination of orange and strawberry.
  10. Just got my order of oils and Becky threw this and Hurricane in as bounus samples. They both smell great but I have to go put this one in wax NOW!
  11. I'm the oddball here. I warm my jars in the oven at the lowest setting of 170*. By the time I take them out and wick them, they've cooled down to probably 120* or so. After they're wicked, I immediately pour. This way, I have no worries about the priming wax melting off the wicks. I do this in batches of 3 or 4 at a time.
  12. Just Scent Peak Bitter Creek South I've heard good things about Nature's Garden but haven't tried them yet. Oh, did I mention Just Scent?
  13. I use JS almost exclusively for my FO. There are many companies out there with great oils to choose from. Becky's customer service (and samples) is the biggest reason I keep coming back. But, if she didn't have the highest quality oils, I wouldn't continue to use them just because of great service. She definitely has a great combination going there. Good thing I'm not in Ohio. You wouldn't be able to keep me away from there. Make sure to drop her a line letting her know how happy you are. Everyone appreciates a pat on the back once in a while.
  14. Very nice looking site. I can tell you've put alot of hard work into it. My big question to you is: Do you use Essential Oils or Fragrance Oils? The point is, if you use fragrance oil, you can't call your candles "100% all natural" because they are synthetic. If you only use essential oils, you're good to go.
  15. Here's another one. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Handmade-Purple-2-1-2-inch-candle-in-glass-container_W0QQitemZ4460041836QQcategoryZ50406QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  16. Bella, If you have been reading posts here for the last 4 month, you have certainly come across people who pour one candle and think they're experts. They end up using one size wick for every combination of wax, FO, container & dye. Here's a perfect example: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19603 I personally talked to someone who called themself a candlemaker at a craft show last month who readily admitted this: "I don't need to test my candles anymore. I tested the first one and it burned well so I've stuck with that formula. I put the fragrance oil on a cotton swab and if it smells good, I put it in wax and sell it." I nearly screamed! This is what gives those of us who diligently test, test and re-test each and every one of our products, a bad name. The first sentence you wrote to open this thread was "hey guys I am new at candle making and i want to be prepared to do shows this coming fall." What conclusion do you expect someone to come to? If, on the other hand, you had said something like "I have been reading and researching candlemaking for the last 4 months and have recently started making some. Hopefully by this coming fall I will be ready to start selling...", I would have come to the conclusion that you have taken your time and are serious about this. If you noticed, I did give you the benefit of doubt. After dcroome's post, I apologized. I think most people here will agree that I am not one to start bashing people for the fun of it. It just gets a bit frustrating seeing people, like the one in the link above, jump in here and think they're ready to sell a dozen different fragrances in a week or month. I too, am very new to this. I lurked here for about 2 months before joining in October. My initial intention was to learn enough to make a safe home-made Christmas present for family members. After several thousand dollars, that interest has quickly become an obsession. I applaud your efforts to learn and research this craft.
  17. Snickerdoodle is a cookie. Or, what YOU might call, a biscuit. I'm not sure but I believe they're peanut butter. People usually finish them off by pressing fork tines into the cookie top at right angles to eachother. Actually, my DW moved to the states when she was 7 so she's lost her accent. That's still no excuse so I continue to tease her anyway. I know what you mean though "ehhs".
  18. The wick trimmers are from Wickman and I sell them for $9 each. That would be nice if it were bent at a 90* angle but they work very well for my containers. Much deeper and they might not reach all the way.
  19. Naffydoodle? Must be an English saying...I love it! Something else to tease my DW about. She's from Wales and I always tease her with gobsmacked, gutted and a few others. I'm going to have fun with this one! Thank you!
  20. Just a suggestion for everyone: Since the loser who did this to T apparently reads this forum, if we have any advice/ideas/suggestions for T, PM her so no one else can read it.
  21. Strong personality is NOT how I would describe such a loser. Just keep your head up and know that you are the better person here. It's a shame that this "person" has no imagination or artistic ability whatsoever. Whoever this person is, I challenge them to have the courage to speak up. This is probably the way she has gotten through her entire life: copying others work and taking credit for it. She does sleep well at night because she has no conscience. I take pride in my work and that's something she will never know.
  22. In your first post on April 10th (less than a month ago) you said "i poured my first candles the other day." Doesn't sound like 4 months ago to me. Here we go again folks.
  23. And the sellers screen name is Buyourcandles
