  1. Speaking of mystery wax, I purchased a small block of container wax from Michael's for a quick candle gift. Does anyone know what kind of wax this is compared to what I normally buy from suppliers? It says paraffin and it melts really fast. thanks

  6. Hi, I just got some goatsmilk and shea butter soap base rom hobby lobby and used the goat to make a couple bars of soap. OI used a tablespoon of coconut oil thinking that would help. I used a pretty color just for soap and a scent Oak Moss that I love. The bars turned out really pretty but when I used one, I felt squeaky clean but no lather. What did I leave out? Thanks for any help Karen
  7. Love the tarts!! So cute and colorful!! where do you have your labels made?
  8. All of that info makes a lot of sense. For some reason I thought I could find a wax with one pour for pillars. Now I know to melt enough wax for a 2nd por. I will find something as similar as possible for the wick home, The putty just does not work for me. I love pillars and burn them here at home a lot but of course they re the ones I have purchased from a store and have no scent. Thanks for the info. Really appreciate it. Karen
  9. I've been making tarts but want to make a few free standing candles after seeing some cute ones in a store last week. I did make one using 4625 but the wax got through the wick hole on the bottom. Then after finally plugging that and letting the candle cool for 2 days, I looked and saw that the top had sunk. How do you make the candles look so perfect? Thanks Karen
  10. That is a great idea! Never thought of that! I'll starts looking for some at wally or dollar store. Thanks Karen
  11. OK Wet spots will be ignored from now on. Thanks for the pep talk I will try another glass candle but am thinking more about the pottery as mentioned above for a candle. That sounds like it would be a very interest candle look.
  12. Thank you all for the great advise.. The jar has a 3 inch opening so I thought the LX 24 would work but have not tried it yet. I'll try the 4694 on my next wax order and see what happens. Thanks again..... .
  13. So I lhave been making tarts because I don't have the wick and wet spot problems but I decided to make a candle using 4627 that I had a a very nieglass 8 oz jar with a heavy bottom from dollar store. the scent was Carabean Teak wood. I love love that scent. Used a LX 24 wick. Everything was going great except I melted the wax, added color and poured in to the glass jar and was so pround of myself. The candle looked great wet. Low and behold when I went to smell it I found that I had forgotten to put in the oil. Melted the wax, and put in the oil and poured again. The candle looked great till cooled and now I have spots where the wax does not adhere to the glass it looks like. Is there a way to prevent this? I warmed the glass jar a little before pouring both times. I have no idea how you all do it out there. This is very discouraging........ any advise? Thanks Karen
  14. Candles are beautiful!!! That cat really has personality!!!
  15. sorry that was supposed to be 6006 not 606
  16. I tried the KY tart mix and really loved it BUT the shipping to AZ was to high so I'm using the 606 and 4625 and am getting very good scent throw. I got some 4627 today and am going to try with the 4625. We'll see how that goes. The 6006 alone for tarts is to soft. I make the tarts in mini cupcake tines so each one weight about .45 oz, I put one in the warmer (25 watt bulb) and the scent is great for at least one to 2 days then I put one more in and go another 2 days or so.
  17. I received the box of samples today and want to thank Glenda from NM. I love every scent and they will be going to good use. Thanks Karen

  21. Hello everyone, I'm looking for anyone wanting to clean out the 1 oz samples you may have taking up space at a reasonable price. Our church group makes tarts and puts them in raffle baskets and sells at craft show through out the yer to raise money for our food drive. Thanks in advance, Karen
  22. Yes, he was a Maine Coon named McThaddeous but passed in April of this year at 16 years old. From a family of show cats. I have been using 60/40 of 6006 and 4625 and getting really good results. I really love the KY parasoy but the shipping to AZ from the east coast is a little to much.
  23. justajesuschick your tarts are beautiful !! As for the scent safe polypropylene bags do you puchase them on line? I have some zip locks I got at walmart in the craft section but I don't imagine they are scent safe. Thanks for the pics. Karen
  24. I have a question for you justajesuschick I know you make only tarts. I do as well but have been making them for friends , family and church baskets. I would like to send to some friends out of state but am at a loss as to how to wrap and make them look good in a little bag or zip bad.The ones I make are round. Would you mind giving me a few tips on a good way to wrap to make them look like a nice gift. I think I would ship in proiority padded envelope. Thanks so much Karen
