  1. One more question actually 2 1. How big should the burn pool be in how many hours and should it have a good fo when? How long to burn each tine etc.. 2.To test should I do no color and no fo or do a test one just like I want to have a a final?
  2. that's hat I just tried. Will work but messy, I heated tops to smooth and put in frig for a little bit. Will try tomorrow. i should have more patience then. Maybe a soft paraffin is not the way to go but I have heard that this one hold FO and works great. I mad another with wick CD 10 and .50fo in .50 oz wax Will see what happens tomorrow, Hoping this one works. Now I know what an apple correr is at least from the video. never saw one before.
  3. OK I need to get a corer os some sort I guess, But I see what you are doing. I'll see what I can come up with thsanks
  4. I'm lost on how to keep the wick standing. If the wax is soft and i use say a cd 10 and it should work will the wick still stand up. I have no idea how to hold up the wick. i cannot be that stupid
  5. you mean glue in the whole wick in the container and pour and then test
  6. I am testing Flaming candle soft pro blend 400 wax in 8 oz tins with 3 " opening One has CD 14 One has CD 16 I poured with no color and no fo I poked a hole in each for a piece of wick put in. Both burned for about 45 min and had almost full melt pool and then about 15 min later drowned. The flame looked a little large and had some soot but otherwise looked ok What is wrong???
  7. I just found the North star sight and saw their fo's for soy and then the STRONGER fo's available for a much higher price. Does anyone use these? I was going to order a special they have 6 fo's 1 oz rong version ) for$21
  8. Your right. I want to stay with the soy and learn it's quirks. I just need to learn patience which is something I have never had much of. This will be a good challenge.
  9. I was wanting soy because most people want the natural thing but is there a combo of some sort you are familiar with I could try
  10. I'm not sure I have the patience for this. So i will make three candles in tings no color no additive, no wick no fo. Poke for hole and fill and let them set for 3 days and then try the wicks out. See which is best then make one with fo and same best wick to see if fo burns good.. How Long to cure before burning with the FO in there? Same 3 days? sorry for all the questions. I just want to get it right
  11. WOW your so smart!!!! OK got it Will try tomorrow again I was trying Eco 14 and 16 and one had a full melt pool after only 45 minutes but i think because I just madethem yesterday and they need to cure how long?before burning?
  12. SO PLEASE tell me the proper way to do the burn test and then the burn with scent test with wick.'For some reason this is confusing after watching u tubes . 1. Make candles with no wick and no fo and test the wicks in two or three? 2. Then make candles with fo and use the wick use tested that was best?
  13. Si I should poke holes to see if cavities and then use heat gun or top off???
  14. My C-3 first Candles The two together are AFTER I used the heat gun. The singel is perfect with no holes, bubbles perfect and ready for a wick test in a few days

  19. I bought 5 pounds of C-3 to try Using two 8 oz candle tins so i could test burn and fo I melted 15 oz of wax, melted to 180 anded 1 TBL spoon of Coconut oil from Southwest candle (per instruction on bottle) Added FO 1.5 oz Amazing Grace at 150 then poured at 140 and used used NO COLOR Four hours later I checked and the candles had a terrible looking ratty top with some bubbles around the edges and some on top. i poked holes and used heat gun to try to fix. An hour later checked again, One looked just ok and the other had a ton of little baby bubbles over the top. What the heck am I doing wrong?/
  20. So if curing is the key, how do you know if the candle will have good HT or CT until then? Just wait and see?
  21. Which wax will give the Best Throw C-3 or 464? I have not worked with soy before and want to try it but looking through the suppliers wax descriptions and the forum here I am really confused about what to buy. The C-3 so far sounds the best. Candle Science reviews for 464 sound horrible, Need some help Please Thanks
