  1. I don't understand the need for a blanket price increase anyway. It's not like every scent will need to be reordered as of April 1st. Then to go up a day early...I am just thoroughly ticked. And that whole "if we don't raise prices, we'll have to go out of business blah blah blah" That was a little over the top anyway...playing on guilt and probably fear of losing fragrances to keep folks quiet. And it worked...there was nary a mention (even by me, the complainer!)
  2. Thought it would be fun to see what fragrances everyone is craving! Myself: a dupe of BBW Frozen Daiquiri (caved and bought a honkin' bottle of body wash knowing it will cause a rash )
  3. I've tried tons of cakes, and unfortunately, none of them smell like "batter", just baked cake.
  4. Thanks, Kim! I just took a look around around your site and have a list going already. Kudos for separating out the "ground only" scents as well! It's nice to be able to order a sample pack without paying $12 in shipping! I'm sure I will find enough to place a larger order next time and try the low FP ones.
  5. Be aware that with summer coming on, the fatter the milk, the faster it goes rancid. I've had that problem with full fat and goat's milk.
  6. IMO, if you say to get orders in before April 1st, then prices shouldn't start going up until April 1st. I have to go out for the evening and was taking a last look to get my order in when I return later (wanted to think about a couple during the drive). Just saw the sampler email, too. First, the sales disappear, now all this. What's the point?
  7. Unless you're DAYSTAR and effective April 1st means TODAY. Interestingly, every damn scent I was going to order has already been increased. So no point bothering now. Time to find a new supplier.
  8. Ohhh...who is it? Gotta add them to my black list. It seems that more and more suppliers are padding their shipping costs. The last 3 flat rate boxes I received from various sources cost me $10 each, claiming the extra is "insurance" and "packaging". Ummm...they weren't insured and 2 strips of tape and shredded newspaper sure is pricey. I haven't checked this weeks shipments yet, but I suspect the total overage this week is around $20...so far it averages $1000/year of my hard-earned money lining their pockets! I'm just a little (alot!) obsessive about shipping!
  9. Hmmm...my Fed Ex rates are always spot on unless I weigh something incorrectly or someone lies about being commercial. My charges are never combined either. Everything goes through my account individually and I get a download notice to download the file showing the charges if I want to. I was lucky to find a retail shipping store nearer than either Fed Ex or UPS and they accept all types of packages that are prepared online. Fed Ex actually pays them $1 for every box (doesn't cost me extra) and they unload them and everything. Great on a day like today when I had 3 60 lb boxes!
  10. Arrggg...darn...thanks! I swear it wasn't there when I last ordered...and I knew about the misspelling. What's up with that anyway? And Carmel is a frickin' city... Just call me Hot & Grumpy
  11. Yes, it is super light and soapy, definitely not a dupe...
  12. Rant over, back to buttercream frosting... which is definitely the best so far!
  13. Last I looked, AWE didn't have it on their site.
  14. Fed ex here, too. At one time, I used both, but found in every instance that Fed ex was less expensive so I stopped using UPS. They get to some areas faster than UPS while UPS gets to others a day sooner so it was just a tradeoff as far as transit time. I have alot less trouble with Fed Ex damages than UPS, too. I loved the fact that a random ground package could miraculously arrive the next day with Fed Ex, though that doesn't happen much anymore. The reason...if Fed Ex has a plane that isn't full, they will use ground packages to take up the space.
  15. WSP's smells very very similar to JS' whipped vanilla creme...at least to my nose.
  16. Most of the ones that I've tried have been good...$27-32/lb good? Not necessarily. I've seen raves about how great their dupes are, but I haven't been so lucky. Of the BBW dupes I've tried, I would say only one was right (and great). The rest ranged from similar to not even remotely close to being a dupe. For the most part, the strength is good. As with any fragrance supplier, there are hits and misses and it's always best to try samples first.
  17. It doesn't seem fair that we do all the very hard and sometimes aggravating work, while wholesale customers make twice the "profit". But in the case of actual storefronts, they are paying alot of overhead to sell our products along with shipping costs so their profit margin often winds up much lower. I have never encountered a wholesale customer who expects less than 50% off retail and many of them try to badger for more!
  18. I'm sad, but will also be phasing out the pricier scents. Most were already too much over my max allowed FO cost and I've been taking a hit since there are no or very small sale discounts, but 10% plus the cost of shipping definitely puts them out of reach. If cost isn't an object, I would highly recommend DS oils, but if it is :undecided
  19. Maybe only 6 lbs of oils will fit in the box comfortably with packing material around it? It seems that I recall receiving a box with 7 lbs and it was a close fit with very little or no packing paper or peanuts, but I could be wrong. Be sure and compare the various shipping methods available. I learned the hard way that adding required insurance to USPS can sometimes turn out to be more expensive than Fed Ex. UPS was so close it wouldn't have mattered either way, but I could have saved a buck and change with Fed Ex in that case.
  20. Nod, you lost me after The largest I could find for a decent price locally was a 1 GB so I decided to order a 2 GB to start with. I'll be sure not to trust them for backup purposes, but with the cd situation, I'm not sure what to do about that. Currently, our main computer has an extra old hard drive that we use to backup files as well as making a cd copy every so often. Hopefully that will keep us covered until we have the new processor up and running. Thanks, everyone!
  21. Fabulous! Thanks! When I first started using both of the computers, I didn't have any trouble swapping cdr's and cdrw's around. I had replaced the cdrw drive in the desktop only a couple of weeks before getting the laptop so the read/write speeds were similar. Suddenly, the blank cd thing started if I saved to the same cdrw from both computers and gradually progressed to the laptop not being able to read the desktop cdrw and the desktop would show the files on the laptop cdrw but get an error opening them. HP tech support tried to help me, but 3 different people said they had never seen such a thing. Anyhoo, flash drive it is...off to find one. Thanks again!
  22. Oh, yeah, I caught that distinction or lack thereof on the label.
  23. CDR's vs. Flash Drives Here's my current situation: I work with both a desktop and laptop at times, with a third processor to be introduced into the mix when my Vista upgrade arrives. I am now unable to write to CDRW's from the older desktop and use them on the laptop. It just comes up as a blank disc when the laptop opens it. Before this, I couldn't write to the same disc from both computers or it would wipe out the files from the opposite computer. I *can* use CDR's to save from each separately that can be read by the opposite computer but I now have a pile of half-used cd's that I have to sift through. It's madness but I have to be able to work on files on the go a few times a month. So my question, would I benefit from purchasing a flash drive and be able to save everything there to swap back and forth or no? Thanks for any help. Someone so computer illiterate shouldn't have this many computers to worry over!
  24. Ok, I keep going back to this so did anyone else cave yet? Any reviews or more info? I received the samples, but they didn't send anything that holds up in wet conditions even though I chose bath for product type. I keep forgetting to call to ask about those specifically. I think I'm procrastinating so I won't have to give up that chunk of change!
  25. Everyone probably knows by now that I'm quick to gripe and complain about suppliers who rip you off with shipping, but this place takes the grand prize. The first time that I ordered, I requested a shipping quote so they called me. When I received my boxes (no invoice), I checked my account and was charged a whopping $21.00 extra for shipping without telling me. I did a Fed Ex estimate that was in line with their original quote, called them and they refused to do anything. Ok, idiot that I am and only being able to get the items I needed from them for the lowest price, I recently ordered again. This time, they charged me over $85 for a $75 order with the excuse that shipping rates had gone up and blah blah blah. Well, I just measured and weighed the boxes to get an estimate...almost $30 MORE than the Fed Ex quote! AND they sent an incorrect item and said I didn't specify the particular type even though I told them I wanted the same lids as the last order after describing it. Granted, I still came out cheaper on the containers by a few cents each even though they raised the price slightly, but it burns my a$$ that they overcharged so much on shipping and do not correct their mistakes. <----closest I could get to a firebreathing smiley Rant over, back to your regularly scheduled program.
