  1. I don't use EZ but with another soy in an 8 oz I double wicked.
  2. I haven't, but talking with one of the gals at the Daystar booth she specifically said it was awesome in B&B. Frankly, I wouldn't have thought to use it in that but that's what she said!
  3. I'm going to make another tester and cut back on the FO %, I think you don't have to use as much with this one.
  4. OMG, this is yuuummmmmoooooo. I bought a bottle at the Texas candle conference. The last thing I actually needed was to add yet another supplier but did I pass up the Daystar Booth, noooooooo, of course not.:rolleyes2 Anyway, just poured this Friday and most scents take a week to cure in my soy blend but I burned this yesterday and it is throwing awesome! I also bought Mimosa Breeze and Shampure type but haven't burned yet, cold throw is good tho.
  5. I'm surprised you got much burn at all with a zinc wick. That wax does much better with cotton.
  6. So far at least it smells good and isn't ugly as sin like my last batch. I'll take a pic. It is scented NG Origins Ginger and FOH Lemon Sugar
  7. I love that scent! I have some from SW
  8. Hi, I haven't made many pillars but I have made a handful with the 4625 and it seems to be a pretty easy wax to work with, made a smooth pretty candle. Haven't tried the P1. Haven't had a candle stick in the mold but I suppose if I did I might try sticking it in the freezer before shooting it across the garage, LOL
  9. Okay, guess I'll save it for Christmas presents! LOL, Thanks
  10. I'll make a note of that, thanks!
  11. I did the calculator and it said to use 9.95 oz water, I used 13 which comes out to 27% strength. Is it ruined since it was so watered down? I'm thinking the lower strength means it won't saponify as well?
  12. well crud, I won't do that again then. It is really soft. I think I shouldn't even cut it for a while?
  13. Okay, I tried my hand at soapmaking again yesterday, 3 lb batch. (only my 5th batch). Put the recipe in the MMS lye calculator. I used the medium percentage of lye (the green zone) and the maximum recommended water amount. So does using the max water % that mean it will be soft and take forever to cure? I felt it this morning and the top felt greasy and I wasn't sure if it was too soon to take it out, so I left it in the mold and will check it later.
  14. well, maybe everyone will try to be so creative they won't think to bring something simple like dye or paint? other things I can think of would be glitter and bendable craft wire. Hope you have fun!
  15. I think the "Clean" is really nice, just started carrying it.
  16. that is why I dont even sell them, they are labor intensive and costly. I did sell them once for a friend that used them as corporate gift to her customers, she ordered 300 so I charged 2 bucks a piece.
  17. I say keep your chin up too! I don't know how long you've been doing this and what kind of sales experience you have but sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error to get products moving. If your product is good and you know its good you are only half way there, marketing and knowing what your customers want is a big part of the biz. I always thought quality was #1 no matter what, but soon learned after doing a few shows and that packaging matters, your attitude and confidence matters, and your persistence matters. I put quotes on my candles and one of them goes something like --a lot of people don't realize how close they were to success just before they gave up-- that has kept me going through many a trying time! I will try to find the exact quote if anyone wants it, it's late and I'm tired right now. Good luck!
  18. Thanks! You'd think I'd have known, I was given Amber Romance a couple years ago for Christmas. Thanks Scented! Love it.
  19. oh crud, you said lotion, I've only had two sips of coffee, please excuse my moron-ness
