  1. Organic has become a certification program in the US as to how things are raised or farmed, processed etc. There's lots of info out there, here's one site http://www.ams.usda.gov/nop/Consumers/brochure.html
  2. Panda's delight and the Sweetgrass didn't throw in my soy. Sultry angel, brandied pear and caramel goodness are great
  3. KY pineapple is awesome. Smells like the real thing and strong.
  4. I currently make my own blend but have been trying out preblends for their convenience factor. I'm trying the Soyafin from JBN right now whis is 51/49 soy/paraffin. Has anyone gotten anything besides zinc to work in these blends? Doesn't have to be the Soyafin in particular. The CDs burn okay at first then flame up and smoke, the RRDs same problem. I have some LXs on order. The zincs are the best burn so far (with mushrooms though), I just would really like a wick without the wire core. Thanks
  5. Brenda, did you cure the candle at least a week?
  6. I've had the same results, it doesn't seem to burn well on its own, I blend it with paraffin and get much better results. Were I to want to make 100% soy, I'd use a different wax.
  7. It seems to consistent of a pattern to be a dip, I think it was painted or airbrushed
  8. I buy mine from the same company and noticed a difference too.
  9. There is a thread a couple dozen down about C3 wax that might be helpful. I haven't used C1, but with the C3 always get air pockets so I poke & heat gun
  10. Sometimes a tealight can have a pretty good throw, despite it's size. I think 13% is way too high and is not only an overkill of FO but I would think would make for a smoky candle. And why would a retailer tell their customers the percentage anyway, as if the average consumer knows the percentages of FO in candles? They just want to know if it is strong. JMO
  11. We've had our house on the market six months and still hasn't sold, the market here is tough. Sooo, I'm breaking back out the candle stuff. Was told to put it all away by the real estate person, but enough it enough, the holiday season is here and I'm not sitting through it doing nothing. So, will start pouring candles enough for a few shows. At least it is something. They'll just have to excuse the candle clutter!
  12. I mix a little paraffin with my soy, it looks like a 760 is the right size, which of course is one size too small. If it was straight soy, probably 765 would be fine. (hex jar)
  13. Hmm, well maybe I got excited too quickly, the smallest wick they have longer than 3.5 inches is the 765 which is too big for my jar candles. :undecided
  14. Thank you for posting that, I'll pull back out my samples they sent!
  15. Yes! Red currant, couldn't give it away. And Ginger Fig, people actually made a face after smelling that one.
