  1. "Clean" from NG clean cotton from JBN Rain JBN Farmers Market JBN Blue Skies RE Blue Lagoon RE Salty Sea Air A scent shop
  2. you need a good scale. Set your pour pot on the scale and tare the weight so the weight is 0 with the pot on the scale. weigh the amount of wax you need. I personally use a dixie cup to measure FO the same way, put the cup on the scale, 0 out the weight, weigh FO, and put into pour pot, mix and pour. I don't put any scent or dye in the presto pot ever. As far as wicks, there are lots of kinds, you may want to ask your supplier. I think BCN has the biggest variety, it may help to look on there also. good luck:highfive:
  3. from a consumer side, I really don't like pure container wax for tarts. Having to scrape it out of my tart burner with a knife is a pain. With votive wax in there, you just pry it a bit and the whole thing just pops out. JMO
  4. I use half votive wax, half container. pop right out.
  5. I don't know about "best" but Nashville wraps has a big selection and their prices seem comparable to what I've seen elsewhere. Action Bag might be somewhere to check out too, they have some unusual styles.
  6. "You are doing much better than I could do. In all my trials and triumphs I have not found 70 good FOs. " Quote from Michael above. It wasn't easy! Especially since I use soy and the C3 wax seems to be a very finicky wax. I've spent thousands and buy from like 10 suppliers for FOs alone, now with shipping so high, I need to consider that too. If I only buy 1-3 FOs from a company and they're not really big sellers, then I have to consider the cost of that. The gal that was telling me downsize saw I was getting a little burned out and she loves my candles and wants to make sure I keep going. She said not to think of it as losing fragrances but putting them on hold. I guess that makes it a little easier. Thanks for the input
  7. I've been going over my list (candles), and actually I forgot I had deleted some and now am down to 56 (including 5 seasonals). I am going to leave them as is for now and keep better track of what is selling and what is not. I think I'd like to get it closer to 40 regular and 5 or so for Christmastime.
  8. US box will too. There was a recent post about boxes with other companies mentioned too.
  9. I use CD but I mix with paraffin. Last time I made some with straight C3 the cottons worked much better than the CDs did.
  10. figure the cost of your base per ounce, the cost FO, container, label, etc. Find out how much each size costs, then double, triple, quadruple, or whatever to set the retail price.
  11. I have about 70 FOs and have had advice that it would be better not to have so many. It certainly would be easier! But being an FO addict, it is hard to imagine letting a good FO go. So far my selling markets have been doing home parties and a craft show here and there. I'm moving and thinking I'm mainly going to go wholesale. I cringe when thinking of cutting my FO list in half. Any thoughts? Sorry, that is 70 FOs in candles (3 sizes.). I have 12 in B&B products. Should have made that more clear.
  12. Just By Nature--VERY strong in soy and delicious Vanilla Cream--like a french vanilla Mexican Vanilla--more buttery, almost like vanilla cake batter
  13. It took me two years to find an aweseome apple pie, LONESTAR hands down.
  14. I have samples from MC of strawberry jam and their cheesecake and am going to mix and pour a tester. I tried mixing JBN strawberry cream and white chocolate, not much hot throw unfortunately.
  15. I used JBNs, but I also didn't add it to my line. Still have some though. It is a bugger to wick. I had to go up TWO sizes. Very strong FO
  16. hmmm, strange. I didn't have to wick up or anything. How much FO are you using? I used 0.9 pp in soy-blend.
  17. I use their pink sugar. I think it's great, and strong in soy. I could not get the monkey farts to throw, don't know why as so many people say its great in soy. Smells nice OOB. The lick me all over smells like sun ripened raspberry to me. Strong in soy too.
  18. When are you burning them (next day, a week?)and what type wicks are you using, and yeah, where are the FOs from? What temp are you adding your FO? All can make a difference. I get great throw from this wax
  19. I fill em to the brim, have to kind of look at them sideways to tell if they're full. turns out to be 3 oz.
  20. yep, that is it. Now C3 I currently blend with will do this too when used alone, not always but too much for me to tolerate. And same results when mixing with J223, it prevents mottling and nearly eliminates frosting too. Aesthetics wise, not much of a difference between the two blends. So, if the throw on this wax is superior, I may restest and switch with cost factors and availability of my paraffin mixer wax at the same place influencing my decision. --Oh wait, there was one other factor, the no air pockets on the 464/paraffin blend, that is a biggie too because of the time saving factor.
