  1. There's a company that makes a three wick placement system, I forgot who they're called though. Maybe someone who knows can pitch in here. They make a bunch of wick centering tools. I think the owner was named Stephanie? Sorry not much help.
  2. The clear acetate boxes--are they really sturdy? I mentioned getting them to a friend of mine and she said she had bought votives in a box like that before and it was flimsy. Not worried so much about the 4 votive size, but the dozen size I don't want to be floppy once filled with votives. Thanks.
  3. Yep, he's all cleared of infection. He took antibiotics. It is looking like it may scar. I'll try the health food store for emu, I don't need a whole lot.
  4. My husband had an infection on his face (cheek) and it is looking like it might leave a scar, would an balm with some emu oil prevent this? any suggestions?
  5. I struggled with the "to dye or not to dye" question for a long time, especially since I use soy and soy blends and experiencing the horrors of frosting and mottling. I dye mine, but I also keep a decent selection of noncolored. I've also found that orange is not a popular color and avoid it at all costs.
  6. That scent turned the wax gray after burning for me too (but from JBN), love the scent but that funky color made me not want to carry it. Also Seaspray Jasmine from TSB and I think nag champa did that too.
  7. My friends now call me the 'WICK NAZI" , but I think I probably deserve it.
  8. Ugh! that is sickening. :embarasse I'm sooo sorry. Just one thought though, after four years you've got a lot of knowledge in your head so even losing your formulas the restesting should go a lot quicker. And I agree with Michael, a little butt kicking might be in order!
  9. I might have to try them then. I was hesitant to order 60 bucks worth and find out the soy smeared all over them.
  10. I have searched high and low, found only two types of boxes so far that are decent looking, Cierra Candle supply has some but they are white carboard and I really would like to at least be able to see the candles from the top, I tried stationary boxes but they were half an inch too big. Sunshine container has the clear acetate ones BUT with soy votives I'm thinking the wax will smear on the plastic and end up looking terrible. This is turning out a lot more difficult than I thought it would be! Any suggestions on where to find some nice boxes or tips on using the boxes above appreciated. thanks
  11. I vaguely remember that, I'm thinking Royal Aromatics?
  12. LOL, geez and I can't even get a 4" apothecary jar wicked yet!
  13. You'll find some suppliers carry stronger scents than others, and the same supplier can have scents that require more or less usage. Some of them will even tell you (or you may just ask) if a certain FO is really strong or if you need to wick up on it. A lot of people start at 6% and go up or down from there depending on how it tested.
  14. Why is it always red dye too!? My biggest problem is accidentally getting it on my fingers, not realizing it and opening cabinets and such, red fingerprints on my cabinets ACK! I had to rub orange FO on it for about two weeks to get all of it off.
  15. sorry, I haven't soaped it either, you can try the KY message board and see if it has been soaped.
  16. I like lavender vanilla from KY but don't know if it is a dupe.
  17. the best nonbakery lemon I've found with no fuel smell is fragrance oil heaven lemon sugar.
  18. I get mine at Riekes in Dallas. They have a $250 minimum though
  19. I use it and love it, goes on smooth and sinks in fast. Perfect for anyone that complaints of hating anything "greasy".
  20. what wax? how high did you heat it? What temp did you add the oil?
  21. adding white is all I can think of, or try another wax, Cargil V1 is white.
  22. I've ordered it online. I have 2 lbs if you're interested.
  23. in my experience C3 usually needs a week. Hard to wait, I know.
