SatinDucky
I decided to try experimenting with the Astor Q I have. Yup, it's a container wax. Yup, that's a pillar. Yup, I have a really big bowl to test burn it in Just out of curiosity, I added stearic and vybar 103. It did kill the crystals but gave it the most awsome suede look and feel. It's scented Moonligh Path.
Pam W
Nice looking candle, Ducky. Let us know how it burns.
Fern
How cool is that! You may have just invented a new style of pillar! How's the cold throw on that? Let us know your testing results because I'm very curious to see how it burns and if you have good hot throw. Nice job!
Guest EMercier
I like that. It looks really nice. I especially like the color and the effect it has.
sharyl55
Looks cool. Be sure to post a picture of it burning.
Kaybee23
Love the color, let us know how it burns. Also Vybar 343 works well without affecting the crystal effect too much.
Glowlite
Yeah I'm curious to see how that will burn too.
Mozzie
That is one gorgeous baby. Hope it burns well for you.
tonyalc
Wow, post pictures when you burn that. It looks unique!
geekrunner
Very nice! Is that a 4" pillar? It looks like a widebody in the pic. I once tried to make a pillar out of Astorlite S1. It was a disaster, of course, but way too much fun! Everyone needs to be a Mad Scientist once in a while!geek
dcroome2005
Wow, love it, but I see a duck on there :-) Look toward the bottom middle part of candle.. It looks like a duck :-)Christina
SatinDucky
When I take a guess at what wick size to use, I'll fire it up. I'm thinking RRD but dropping 2 sizes down from a normal 3" palm pillar...
Catherine
Very pretty. I hope it burns o.k.

kate573
Love the color and effect. Can't wait for burn reviews. Great job.
SatinDucky
Ok, here it is after a 4 hr burn. The wall is a bit thick, so I may up the wick size by one next time, if there is a next time...lol
tucker
Looks good so far. Like Cranberry girl said "dump the melted wax out of the burn, pop in a votive or tea lite (my favorite thing) and voila "a keepsake candle"
SatinDucky
That would work, but this one will be finished off for testing. Last thing I need in another candle sitting around. Especially one that lasts forever.
Dee
I thnk the burn looks good for Astorlite. I found that when I got a pool that went out further, there was a tendency for it to weaken the sides and then they would break off in chunks. For those of you that have never made candles from it, it can't be hugged.

SatinDucky
Well, thar she blows!I wanted to see what would happen with a marathon burn. It's been lit all day, over 10 hrs probably. Now I know. Back to the drawing board.

tucker
I've got a GREAT idea Satin. Don't HUG the candle, "hug me", then we'll all feel better. (smile)
