siberia
An Egyptian friend of mine on an email list that I belong to is having problems with his wax. His computer time is limited so he asked me to share a picture of his problem with you all for opinions. The question is do you think white spots in this candle is fingernailing or mottling? I'm leaning towards fingernailing. What do you all think?
SheilaW
Looks more like a light mottling to me.

siberia
Yea, you guys are right. The more I look at it (now that I'm awake lol) it's definitely mottle. Now the next dilemma is finding him some vybar in Egypt.

CandleFreak
looks like a mottle to me too! I'd keep it...it goes with the container well.....looks as though the beverage has a shot of "bubbly" in it.....I'm ready to drink that cocktail up!!!!! Scented
Looks like mottling to me too. Fingernailing will look more like half moons or fingernails in the wax.
DeeB
Looks like mottling. I'd keep it, but I do all my containers with a mottle.I like it the way it is, it goes really well with the container he chose.Dee

eugenia
Definitely mottle. Left pillar is fingernailing, big time. Looks like white discs are suspended in the wax.

siberia
I think it is really pretty too. He is so upset though. He wants to get rid of the mottling but cannot get his hands on the supplies locally. I'm trying to convince him that his candle is beautiful as is. However I do understand the frustration of trying to create one thing and ending up with another. I'm to the point that I think I'm going to ship him a bit of vybar to try out. I really appreciate everyone's input. I just love this board. Y'all are so great.
