It's a polymer of Castor oil, Succinic acid and Isostearic acid. It's insoluble in water, glycerine, propylene glycol, mineral oil, cyclomethicone, and ethanol. Soluble in isopropyl myristate, octyl palmitate, and safflower oil (probably other veg. oils as well). It's compatible with castor oil, carnauba and beeswax. CIS is used in gloss lipsticks, makeup removers, nightcreams, sun screen lotions, tanning gels and oils, hair pomades, gels, and hair sheen products. There are probably more uses but that's all I have in my notes.
