katshe
This is a small recipe as I was just doing a trial run on this one Sugar Bubble ScrubI used a bar of homemade soap for this oneWeigh out 1 oz of soap ( cut from bar)2 oz lite oil ( I used mostly sunflower, a splash sesame, splash coconut)Heat together for 10-20 sec at a time and stir inbetween until it is like applesauce, then I put this into magic bullet to whip. It should look like thin mashed potatoesthen scoop back into bowl and add about 2 tb br sugar1 1/2 tsp. honey ..Mix it upI suppose you could add some eo's at this time for medicinal purposesor notDon't forget a preservative if making alot of this.I just washed my hands with this mix and it was bubbly and when I started to rinse, it felt a bit slick but rinsed off nicely leaving skin feeling smooth.to increase size4 oz soap8 oz lite oil1/4 - 1/2 c sugar1 tb honeyeo / fo ( my soap is already scented) but may need to add more.add lastly- preservative ( being as it will be in the shower)Not quite sure what type of container to put this in yetBut for now it is in a glad containerNext try I may try adding a smidge of mango butterHave a super day!! katshe
You are welcome, this is my thanks to all that have helped me in my soap making adventure.I have been formulating this for a while and have come up with so many failures...I am not a fan of an oily body or dry scrub and I was looking to make something with this first batch of soap that is not hardening up well ( hubby loves it though) outsides are hard but middle is still moist. So !@#$% thinking mostly gets me in trouble but I think this recipe was worth itOff to shower now with my new sugar bubble scrub!!!
beloved
I am the same way hate being oily. Sounds good Let me know how the shower went.
katshe
The shower was nice and this scrub has a creamy lather, just rub it in until all sugar is dissolved and walah smooth skin, rinses off nicely and feeling moisturized not oily. The homemade soap is made with- coconut, olive, caster, sunflower oils- so adds to the conditioning qualities of this scrub i think.OOh another thought !@#$ ommit the sugar and use as a cream washmaybe infuse some green tea and chamomile tea into oil part.Seems like I could go on and on here! Not sure how these ideas will work but I'm gonna try
Jadryga
I read somewhere to use equal amounts M&P soap and oil with sugar... can't quite remember where... wonder if that would be somewhat drier. Can't wait to try this recipe though!
katshe
.05% of 8 oz is .04 oz = about 1/4 tsp for preservative amount

alevasseur
This sounds great! I would like to try. However, I am confused about the "bullet" part of it. Why are we whipping or beating it? Sorry, if I sound dense. Thanks,
ladysj
I will have to give this a try as well. I've been searching for a good cream wash that bubbles.

kandlekrazy
Really new to B & B so excuse the stupid question. I have a bunch of recipes for sugar scrubs and none call for a preservative, so what would be good to use in this scrub? I love the idea of bubbling scrub and can't wait to try it! Thanks for the recipe.

Jorie
does the honey have to be liquid or can it be the raw kind?

Jorie
would the original recipe still work if I used goat's milk M&P soap that I have on hand or is ther somthing particular about using CP soap?
katshe
you could give it a tryI have never tried m&p in this recipe thoughI just prefer to use my homemade because it is gentle on the skin not sure how m& pour will react in this recipe

katshe
I just made this with castille soap and shea butter subbed in. I just took a shower with it and it is AMAZING. Thanks so much for the recipe. You're welcome, I wanted to note here that different cp soaps have different qualities and it will make this scrub texture a bit different for each personI make a special soap just for this scrub... it is a bit softer bar and more cleansing than my usual bar but the bubbles are high (35) I think all the qualities work together with the oils in the scrub to make it a creamier and luxurious scrub. kandlekrazy
I'm going to try this one today! Looks so good and I love sugar scrubs. First batch will be just for me, but do you think this recipe would work in malibu bottles with the large hole in the lid? I really hate jars in my shower. anabanana's candles
The way mine came out would work in the malibu tubes. Not too thick and not too thin. This recipe is just right.
