  1. where is my shop button and how do I find it...I have just started a facebook business page/shop and I do not know how to add the shop button, Please help Thank you Kathy
  2. I read at brambleberry 1:1 ratio fo : vanilla stabelizer
  3. I went thru testing alot of natural bases and found most drying to my skin and burning to all my family members...or they were slimmy , sweaty and slippery in the shower.. I did not try the low sweat base at that time. How are they in the shower? I suppose this is my biggest concern as my customers may not take a liking to the change in how they feel in the shower. "(
  4. I am looking for reviews on SFIC bases, I have been using NGs narural bases and frankly I am looking for a cheaper way to go with my soaps but i still want quality...ng soaps are wonderful, not slippery or sweaty but the current price increase I am having to find an alternative. I have some WSP natural goatsmilk base and it is so sticky and slippery. Can you tell me are SFIC bases Sweaty, slippery, do they melt well in microwave, are they mild to the skin without adding oils,? Which base are you using? Thank you so much!
  5. I did an oo 80%, co 20 % ...takes a long cure but I always supperfat at 5% ...i use soapcalc to figure.
  6. I wonder how long did you let soap cure before using?...this could be the problem...I wait at lest 3 weeks with hp soap...cp should be , i believe 6 weeks or so...as the soap cures it gets milder...right away -even with hp process(cooking in oven) it is not mild the first week.
  7. i did get magnetic snap closures and a bunch of fabric but no magnetic sheets to use for purse closures....My friend had some good coupons for me so i did well and i bought a few $1.99 patterns...Oh I am going to be making some cute bags this week and as soon as I get the frames I will be making a carpetbag that has and internal frame...i have one done that was a prototype to see how it all worked so I am excited bout that one but the frames I have are 12 inches and that makes a large bag (12 x 15) which is nice but I prefer a bit smaller bag . I think I will make one carpetbag with the larger frame with some of the upholstery fabric I bought and see how you all like it. one question though on the carpet bag I have the option to put pockets and i did put in three on the prototype but could put two on the other side and an outside pocket too....for me personally three is good and one outside for my cell phone but what do you all prefer?
  8. Thanks Maggie...going to joanns tonight see what I can find...it's just that the joanns that was a minute from my house has been gone for a year now an I have to go quite a ways to another store...I did see magnetic clasps on their site. A magnetic sheet would be good if it was strong enough.
  9. I am not really assembly line style yet lol...just one bag a day ...i have them all cut and ready to sew. If I could find some magnetic snap closures locally I could have them done but not able to find them at michaels or walmart so i may have to order them online. What would be ideal for my bag would be a strip of magnet for closure since the center top is straight and the sides are gathered...hmmm where to find that?
  10. oh thats alot of cash for a blade...i buy thread from threadart at great prices ...they carry rotary cutters too and blades...you should check it out and compare prices her is the link http://www.threadart.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=61 it is under quilting then rotary cutters I think. I haven"t gotten to the painting yest but soon. I made a couple more Sheeran Handbags and still need to add the clasp/zipper ...ugh still deciding...
  11. Sad news today about the hand painted fabric... I washed it and it is pealing...I will have to redo using less paint and go from there. this paint is not supposed to ruin in the wash but it did. UGH! It still looks cool to me but I may just wrap it around a piece of hardboard and call it a painting and do a new fabric painting with some thinner paint
  12. I will be using a handpainted fabric that I painted a few days ago for my bag today and see if art looks good as a Handbag
  13. Good ideas ! I am so not a quilter but i will be doing a colorful bag too I am still in the search for what is in my mind as far as colors and type of fabric for the colorful Handbag... thanks Beth!
  14. Smallwhitedogs...I only said that cause it seemed that I was not getting any responses for a while and you know, I thought maybe I was the only one who liked it lol...Katshe is the first three letters of my first and last name and also my screen name on this board I like it too ! hmmm...still need a closure for the bag ...I tried the metal measuring tape idea and I am not sure I like it so I may just go with the magnetic closure or zipper...gonna ponder this for another day then hopefully by the time I am finishing the next bag I will have decided.
  15. I can't believe i found more of this fabric when i went back to the store...I will be making another Sheeran Handbag in the browns that you liked and maybe not so many pleats :0... but still will have 5 pockets
  16. Wow I am glad you are having fun Maggie and I did have a look at the bag you made...very cute! as for the loop on my patch work bag...it will take some getting used to for me having to stop and loop it to close it instead of my magnetic one that closes easier...I tend to not want to use magnetic so I am investigating another way to close this one on my next go round I am making My next Sheeran Handbag with some hand painted fabric and I will try out my new closure idea and see how it funtions... I seem to like to get into my bag quick and easily but still need it to close when I am setting it down... thanks for the suggestions!
  17. I am in the process of finishing up my Sheeran handbag and wondered what type of closure to put on it What do you prefer Magnetic zipper other please elaborate' Thanks Kathy
