Does everyone use PKO??

I have always used PKO and palm.

What do you think would happen if I cut the PKO out and only used palm??

I am thinking my bars wont be as hard..but I am just about out of PKO and need to soap like a mad woman,

any suggestions??

I ran out of PKO last month and had to wait for my order from Columbus Foods to arrive. For hardness you can use coconut and babassu. I use coconut, PKO & babassu in every recipe.

I gave up the palm and just use PKO...LOL I haven't used palm in over a year.

I never use palm and only a couple times used PKO. I use coconut instead of PKO.

Both CO and OO get quite hard (tho OO can take a while). Lard too gets very hard.

One of my basic recipes is CO, OO, Palm & Canola. It gets plenty hard.

I use a combo of 17% CO and 11 to 12% PKO in my favorite recipe. I am mainly an AF soapmaker. I sub out the beef tallow and lard for palm oil when I do a veggie recipe or for a special order. I really like the combo of CO & PKO together!

I've never used PKO in any soaps. Just been using palm - I really like the "no-stir" palm from Columbus Foods! It's very much easier to work with than the regular palm.

One of these days I might give PKO a go, but haven't had the need for it yet.

I don't use any animal fats in my soaps. Just a personal preference plus a business decision. Made one batch with lard early on in my soaping and didn't like it. Though I have used some marvelous bars made with lard by soapers here!

I use PKO in my main recipe, along with shortening and coconut. I use palm in my kitchen soap to make a harder bar!

I don't use PKO much at all any more. I found it to make my soap trace too quickly. I use Virgin PKO in some specialty soaps though...it's luscious stuff.

I seldom use pko, although I do use it occasionally in a few recipes. I'm mostly all about the coconut, mon.

I don't use palm or pko in any of my soaps. As long as I use about 60% olive it comes out fine. I stopped using palm when I read about the deforestation of the rain forests. My soaps don't seem to suffer from the lack of palm. And it's money I can spend on other oils.

I don't use PKO right now and my soap is very hard. I just up the coconut a little or use lard. Sometimes, I use soy or beeswax at 5-10% to get a super hard bar.

I don't use either for various reasons.

I bought 50lbs of PKO and it sits here collecting dust. LOL!
