lilstarr78
I am going to attempt to use clamshells for my tarts...At what temp is it best to pour the wax in so that the clamshell does not warp? Also, I am going to test with 6006 first... is there a better wax that works for these? I am trying to keep from using 5 different waxes for each product.
arkangel
I've seen these mentioned lots of places and tried doing a search but I can't find a photo. What are these?? :embarasse
dpowell
I pour them at about 160 with paraffin wax and they don't warp on me.The 6006 is a container blend, isn't it? Is that sticky like the 4630 is? If so you may have trouble getting the wax out of the clamshells.
Tess
Pour as low a temp as possible (without the wax getting bubbly of couse )
Luci
I've been using the KY tart wax and pouring at 150 with no warping.

IndyGirl
How many of you use the 6 cavity clamshells? I found some at a great price but they would have be co-oped. I don't want to do the formal guaging interest......just thinking about it. They are .10 ea plus shipping So.............maybe??https://www.impact-mfg.com/store/closeup~pid~668.aspSorry mods if this is in a wrong place, I wasn't sure where to post it! arkangel
oooh - thank you. A clamshell is a plastic container! I thought it was something made of wax :embarasse
dpowell
That's not a bad price at all Indygirl. I get them at WSP and I think they are $0.30 each. Might be interested in that one.
IndyGirl
I know! I don't know how to do a co-op though and the min is 5 cases of 1000. I wonder if there would be enough people into doing it? I wouldn't think the shipping would be too bad. Hmmmmm.....need more feedback on this! It requires a ups or fed ex acct. # and I don't have one. katinka
Just so you know, I would be willing to go into a co-op for about 300 at least at that price if you are willing to ship internationally!Katinka
IndyGirl
I would love to have a coop with this company.....but you have to have a fed ex or ups acct. #................HELP!!!!!
PurpleHippie
I think the 6006 is too sticky, it is a container wax I believe. You would probably have problems getting it out of the clamshell.
IndyGirl
I emailed the company for further info to see if it's feasible to order these. PM me if interested!
Vicky_CO
Indy those ones are made in china and don't have as good as quality as these https://www.impact-mfg.com/store/closeup~pid~670.asp . I use to do the co-op on these but luvscandles I think it took it over.
erinmfritz
Even at .15 cents each, that's a good price! I was wondering about the first ones, anyone used them?
IndyGirl
Ok! That's good to know and the minimum is less! I think that will be better even at .15 ea. I just need to get the box weight for shipping costs! I just don't want to run out of my stock!!!! Thanks for the info!:highfive:
