  1. As opposed to paraffin wax which would be a little bit more difficult.
  2. Anyone have any idea where I can buy candle warmers that are 120V-240V compatible? Over here we use 240V standard which is a pain when it comes to warmers because most of the ones available in the States seems to be limited to 120V. Any ideas on where I can find any or how I can get around this? Thanks!
  3. Definitely their Rice Flower Shea and they also have BCN's Vanilla Velvet which is their best vanilla IMO. The cold throw is awesome. Their coconut is nice and so is their Sandalwood. I use it as blenders. I also like their Hawaiin Plumeria, but I like JS Plumeria the best.
  4. I researched them a while ago. The feedback was that you need to test. Some love them and some felt that some of their oils had a fuely smell. His prices are really good though so you might just want to test.
  5. What is the distance between the candle flame and the bowl? If the distance is too big and she is using a crappy tealight it could be that the heat from the flame get disbursed before it hits the bowl - I hope I make sense... Can't see any other reason, if there is sufficient heat it should melt.
  6. I also think your post was misread. Thank you very much for posting this info - it is really helpful for people like me on another continent to get feedback from people. It is in absolutely the right spot as this is the fragrance section... And we really appreciate you taking the time to actually write a review. That said, I believe you are owed an apology:o
  7. Hi and welcome to the board and your newest addiction! Don't worry too much about wax reviews, what works for one won't always work for you. First have a look at suppliers closest to you, shipping can be killer! Then order sample sizes of some of them and play with that first before you go buy a full 55lbs. At least, if I have to start again and I had all the choices you have, thats how I owuld go about it. HTH Katinka
  8. I wonder if he would take it as a compliment or not, giggling to myself just thinking about his response... And Breanna - great minds think alike (I prefer to ignore the fools never differ part of that!)
  9. Don't know anything about M&P, but here is a link to a very good explanation of rebatching in the microwave: http://www.geocities.com/blueaspenoriginals/how_to_rebatch.html?20079 (this one does not explain microwave but has a nice pic of what it should look like before you glop it into the mold) http://www.dianesnaturally.com.au/rebatch.html - explains everything from A-Z. HTH!
  10. I'm itching to see the pictures too...hint hint...
  11. Now you made me spit out my coffee - topofmurrayhill is a guy...
  12. Be warned - you are fast on your way to becoming addicted...
  13. Good of you to come back and make nice. Becky is amazing - I kinda thought it was odd...
  14. Now if it was me, I would undertake to educate him EXACTLY on the uses of soap in the shower - call it a charity project....
  15. Those are really interesting and unique! I would never be able to manipulate wax like that - really jealous of you talent!
  16. The microwave method is also way faster than the crockpot method, as far as I know. You just have to keep putting it back in for short periods to make sure everything is melted evenly. I normaly also only spritz a small amount of water to make the shreds slightly damp. Be careful though, if it start looking like hair mousse when you heat it, stop and stir first before putting it back. That is almost at the point of burning, which you don't want. If you burn it you will end up with dark brown pieces in your soap - not nice...
  17. Congrats - you definitely saved that batch!!!
  18. I would put a preservative in because it is fresh, so the water content would be high. And there is no lye monster to help.... I would email Jen at Lotioncrafter and ask if Germaben II would be suitable. I am sure she would be able to help or suggest something else.
  19. My favourites from her is Hyacinth Chula Orchid, Ultimate Vanilla, Plumeria and Raspberry Vanilla Creme.
  20. I say lets bribe the bloody fairy - I kinda like this rebatch thing...
  21. Sabrina, calculate your cost for the 100 candles and work it out as a % of the estimated total bill for them, with the discount. Then ask that % as a deposit, prior to starting any work on the final order. Make sure that you spesify by what date they need to confirm payment into your bank account, taking into consideration the time it would take you to order additional supplies if you need it, as well as the time it will take you to make and wrap them. The balance is payable on delivery. Good luck - I'll hold thumbs for you:D
