jillgunter
I wish I would have switched to this wax a long time ago. The throw on this candle is great. Could smell it from kitchen in my family room within 20 minutes of lighting it. Its just a small 8 oz tin. So far so good, will see if I got my wicking right in little bit. The rest of the 4630 will be making some wickless candles with:)
GrayMaire
Hi Jill! Isn't this great wax? I've been using it too - quite by accident because I got a great/lucky deal on a few cases of it locally. I've been testing LX, RRD, cotton and zinc wicks - can't decide yet which I like the best... ...but the throw is terrific with them all!! country creek
I am sooooo glad that you posted this!! I was going to try this wax but chickened out. Is it a one pour? I cant recall..... What is it's appearance once it has set up? Any wet spots or frosting?
Ring of Fire
This is a great wax. I get little or no wet spots.
jillgunter
Yes its a one pour, and had nice smooth top. I am gonna do my secound test burn in a little bit. It almost got full melt pool, think I will have to wick up. Burns nice and clean.
country creek
That is great to know.....I used the 4630 and hated it and then I just finished up with a case of FH's 50/50 and I was disappointed with it.The only wax I have ever used that I loved is the CS 1275 and I am not about to go back to them. So.....I will check out the 6006. Thanks:highfive:
jillgunter
I know you do have to wick up from with it since it has soy. My supplier told me that 4630 smokes alot because it has alot of oil in it. So he told me to wick similar to the 4630.
Hillary
What is the % of soy in 6006? Do you guys happen to know, or is that another one of those proprietary blends where they won't tell? I haven't seen a supplier list the %'s for 6006.
jillgunter
I think I read somewhere when doing a search on the board that it is around 20%. I dont think it says anywhere.
fredron
IGI says it's 20%. By the way, where can I buy some? None of my suppliers sell it. Fredron
diamondk
I use both 4630 and 6006. I don't have any problems with smoking with the 4630. I think BCN carries 6006. HTH
ChrisR
IGI says it's 20%. By the way, where can I buy some? None of my suppliers sell it. FredronCandle Science (www.candlescience.com) has it cheaper than Bittercreek and shipping would probably be cheaper also since they are in North Carolina. jillgunter
I order from Candlescience. I am a lucky girl, and live 5 minutes from them:) They are really nice, and always very helpful.
kaitlyn c
I am woking with igi 4627. I was wondering if anyone thought 6006 is better than 4627. It sounds good the way you guys talk about it. I may have to try this 6006. I guess it would be a cleaner burn being it has soy in it. Well, not as much smoke sometimes, I mean. Advice would be great. I do like my 4627 though. It might be good to carry two different kinds of candles.
bugtussle
I like 6006 much better than 4627 simply because it is not like sticky, gooey vaseline. I love its cold & hot throw and it's easy to pour. I have used it for over 3 years. Carole
