Dye Question

Hi again

I was just wondering :undecided ...I am using dye blocks at the moment..What all do you use?..I was going to try the liquid dyes...

I use the liquid dye myself. I have never tried the dye blocks. I am very satisfied with the colors the liquid dyes produce and find the liquid mixes very well in my wax.

I use liquids too. Sometimes the chips. I never liked the blocks.

Mostly liquid, sometimes blocks. If I'm going for a darker color, I try to use mostly blocks, but I've gotten so used to my liquids that they're hard to give up.

Plain old dye chips (except for black - flakes). Use to use liquids, just don't like blending. Plus if you use a lot of it, sometimes it will react badly with soys (but not paraffins). I also must be sensitive or something to the solvent used in many of them, as I can STILL positively smell them even after the candle has cured.

I'm with Terrie, I like chips and liquid but blocks seem to react poorly with my wax. I'm really liking how the darker colors turn out with the liquid. I think chips are best for lighter colors.

I like using the liquids mainly because I usually make batches under 3lb. I find it easier to keep track of how many drops per however many oz to get a consistent color in the candles I'm making at the time. I do use the powder for red though, it is the red like you get in parafin except I do soy really rich color.
