I just scraped that wax..I ordered 20 lbs and even bought the high quality fragrance oils with nothing but a weak throw....I had 2 scents that actually threw great and that was all...I am moving on...lol..I loved the smooth tops and it was very easy to work with..But the scent throw just wasn't there..

Yes I was having problems with the scent throw in the soy. I tryed 4 different kinds...although I did hear that ezsoy is good..which I did not try yet....I am going to try the J223 and see how I like it..Thanks alot for all your feedback..It helps out alot.

hi there Well I am going to go and hangup on the all soy candle..I am in disgust:cry2: ..I was reading really good things about the J223...How is the scent throw?..This is the problem I had with soy..I was thinking of mixing the 2 together..but I am not sure just yet...I would appreciate all your opinions on this...Thank you..you are all a great group of members here!!

Hi Vicki I have been testing The Ecosoya Advanced for 2 months now..and I have to say that I am very disatisfied with the scent throw. It is a very nice soy to work with..But I finally gave up on it and I am moving on to something else. I want a very fragrant candle and I heard that soy will not do it..I have not tryed the calwax so I cannot say what it is like...

hi there You can try a CD 8 wick... I use a CD 10 in my 8oz jelly jars..If this helps you any..

I poured some testers and that is about it...Nothing else..Waiting for my other supplies to get here

Hi Gretchen I am in Pa like you...Candlescience has the "newer" version..It is cheaper ($12.95)and also is the shipping (compared to other companies I have purchased from)..I just got some the other day. As for the sinkholes..I get them everytime..no matter what temp I pour..I started adding Stearic acid in with my wax and seems to have solve the problem. Around 1 teaspoon per pound of wax..adding more may cause you to have to wick up. I am sorry that you are having problems...I also found some really good FO in this wax..Early American Candle has some strong oils..They are 2.99 an oz..I just did a vanilla bean and Peppermint..The cold throw is awesome..I have not burned them yet...I am going to let them cure until tomorrow.

Well I have been working with this wax for about a month now and I have to say that I am pleased that I found an excellent peppermint and vanilla bean..from French Color and Fragrance..I have 3 more FO to test from them..will let you know how they come out...YIPPPEEEEE

I have yet to begin doing votives...Something new...Good Luck Gretchen..I am sure when it is my turn to do them..I will be asking ya..lol:)

Hey all Okie Dokie..I am also going to be doing waxed dipped critters..I am using Ecosoya Advanced for my candles..BUT..since this wax is oily..What would you recommend?...I am not sure myself..I am in the testing stages of both candles and this yet..lol

I have been doing mine for at least 72 (3 days) sometimes up to 5 days..I am using Ecosoya Advanced (new version)

Yep Stearic acid does the trick..I use between 1/2 and 3/4 teaspoon per pound of wax..I noticed if I use more than that..then I have to wick up and I donot want to mess with that..It really does help with the sink holes..I have poured at 100 and it still sunk...I have poured at every temp and still got sinkholes..so I got upset and emailed the company and they suggested to add between 1 to 2% stearic acid..

I heard that if you use a universal additive that it will give smoother tops..I am thinking of trying this..I am testing both EL soy and Ecosoya Advanced..I like the awesome scent throw that EL gives off...But I donot like the way it looks...I like the way the ecosoya looks..smooth tops and little to no frosting..but the scent throw is very weak...AGHHHH..I will be experimenting.. Oh..another thing..I guess beeswax is also supposed to help..donot know for sure..I read that somewhere too..

I put that per pound Brandy..although you can also add more than 1/2 teaspoon..you might have to do some testing..I was told that 1~2% per pound..

thank you I will try warming them and will let you know how they come out...I also will cure them longer and see how that helps...

Hi there Henry..I heard Vybar does not work in soy..Is this true for you?....A heatgun also helps with the tops...I have had some frosting with certain FO and dye..Sometimes you just cannot eliminate all of the frosting. I seen in the one topic that you use 10% FO..I seen on a website that 6% is max in the advanced soy..otherwise they will seep

I never had a candle that did not give anything....Just a light scent..But I was using the bakery scents also...I do put 1 oz ..just like you..but I do add my fragrance at 125..right before I pour...Could this be my problem?..Maybe the oil is not binding to the wax?...Plus I cure with my lids off for 48 hours...What do you think? I am using the CD's in this and I have been getting a full melt pool and a clean flame..I use the Heinz german coreless wicks. I am using the quilted jelly jars and 16oz mason jars.. Here are 2 that I made just playing around..I just love the smooth top..using this wax..there are slight sink holes..but this is before I added the stearic acid

Hi there I just tryed it and did not like it..I like that it is easy to measure..but do not like the tops..they crack..I perfer smoother tops..the scent throw ain't bad..but overall I didn't care for it

Hi there I had the same problem..I put 1/2 teaspoon of stearic acid in with the wax mixture and this solved the problem..

I really like the cb advanced...I put 1/2 teaspoon of palm stearic acid in 1 pound of wax...(I was getting sink holes and this solved the problem).. Do you let your candles cure with the lids on or off?...What FO company do you use?....Thank you for your replys I apperciate it very much.
