Texas connections for CP Soap Supplies?

Hi again, I've recently joined and am really starting out - don't exactly have much in the way of supplies - so between researching and finding places to order some - I am needing Help!

Why do you go to get oils/butters/sod.hyd....locally?

Any help would be appreciated. :undecided I'm not trying to be competitive, I'm to new to even consider going into business. But for starters, I am trying to save some money so I don't have to mail order stuff - shipping is high...and my quantities are to small to make a dent in saving shipping fees.

ALSO - would love to know any other CP soapmakers who live in the Texas area.:D

Just what this area needs is another soapmaker, right? Just kidding...I just have always wanted to try this, and take this 'learned' Craft with me, when I finally move back to Pennsylvania. I'm in the learning stages - and figure it will take me a year to perfect. This way I'm not going crazy trying to find something to do... My space is limited - but I will invest in buying Bulk - slowly.

Thanks to anyone who's listening.

Maybe I'm on the wrong message board - should have been in the business section?...and if I am, I apologize for that.

Seems nobody was replying...must be top secret stuff, right?

Thank you for taking the time to drop me those websites.

It isn't always easy doing a search for companies with Search Engines -

so you have saved me some headaches...

Actually, being online for hours doing research is a bit of a luxury, isn't it. I for one don't have that kind of time, and I know you don't either. THAT is why I'm grateful for the help.

I know when I was in the candle making side of things, I made sure to help those who needed it...even if it meant they could steal my own ideas. Trust me, I've been on both sides of the fence.

I'm sure that I will PASS THIS HELP FORWARD when the times comes.

Jules

Depending on where you are at I think that To Die for Soaps will have some of the supplies you will need. They recently moved thier shop so I don't know where they are located at now. :undecidedBut I haven't had to order any sodium hydroxide(lye) in a while.

Runnin low so I guess I will need to look em up and see where they are at

:tiptoe: gonna go have a look around. and Welcome,

Some oils you can get at the local grocers so check there to.

They moved their store location to a different place and you have to place your order on the internet and they charge you a $5.00 pick up fee. They on longer sell lye either.

I am in need of some lye too and the last time I talked to One Der Bar I was told they would be getting some in. I buy my soaping oils from there, I drove all the way to South Austin to get it, but he said next time he would meet me half way, near Steiner Ranch.

Here is another one and I believe she lives in Steiner too. http://www.texasnaturalsupply.com/
