  3. Lmao.. I only make solid color pillar candles.. have tried to layer and well it kinda fell apart.. I do like to add vertical stripes to my pillars ( you can see that result in the candle gallery ) and some of the round roly poly votives I make.. and those turn out fairly well.. soooooo one more thing to put on my to do list again for 2008.... Tilted layered Pillars..
  4. Its been a really long time since I have posted anything.. :lipsrseal so I suppose I can show off a few things that I have done.. actually took a Hiatus from candles and soap making this year.. other then what was needed.. and did some testing on the 3x3.5 pillars.. v has some bad spots that a heat gun and an old pair of hosery took care of.. v turned out really good.. both pillars scented Lavender/Rose v a 5 piece gift set that was ordered from my website. My very first order from there. :whoohoo:
  5. I use the 4627 container wax from Peaks and the 9oz hex jars that Peaks now carries .. Jars are Approximately 3" wide by 3-3/4" tall. and a c-55 wick.. I have very little if no smoking and very little soot build up after the wax is half way down the jar or lower.. I hope this helps with some of your problems.. never have tested the jelly jars sorry..

  9. LOL hawaiiansun Everyone does some awesome stuff and I'm even tempted to buy. I do lots of other crafty things and just started to break out the beads and yarn and needles and ohhhh just everything I used to do. Just so I can get some stuff done for xmas shows in between getting candles and soaps ready for candle parties. Thanks for putting this together.

  12. I have had a few people ask me how to do things and where I get supplies. I tell them that everything is shipped to me from out of state. I order my stuff online. Point them to candletech.com and say: Here is where I started learning and still am Learning from all the wonderful ladies and gents. Even had a neighbor come over just as I was starting to make soap. Made her put gloves on, goggles, smock and tie her hair back. She had ask me to show how to make soap. I did have the forum up at the time to and told her to check it out when she got home. lol should have seen her. She asked Why all the gear. Told her for her own safety, handed her the Handbook (Robins instructions and the instructions for HP) soap and told her to start reading while I finished gathering supplies. hmmm now that I think about it That was about a week or two before Christmas and haven't seen her since.:undecided Tammy
  13. http://www.ecplaza.net/tradeleads/seller/3868010/make_up_brush_make.html Is this what you are looking for. I put: marabou feather duster cosmetic in the google bar and found these.
  14. With my first votive that I made I tested for about 3-4 weeks. Tested for scent throw hot and cold and tested 2 different wicks to make sure I had the right melt pool. Now after all that I went ahead and tested it by burning the way most people will burn your product. 1) in a room with cealing fan on .. drafts 2) didn't trim wick while it was burning. 3) power burn it all day or until it was all gone. lol 4) the correct way. Making sure wick was trimmed, burned it only 2- 2.5 hrs at a time. Then I gave them to my neighbors and asked them to burn them and let me know what they thought about said votive. so it was about 1.5 months before I would sell even one votive and that was only in one fragrance. Almond Pastries was the first FO that I tested and its still my dh's favorite candle fragrance.
