  1. I use powdered coconut milk. I just blend it with a bit of warmed oils and stick blend until it is lump and speck free. Then I add it back to the warm oils and stick blend some more. I use 1 T. ppo. It makes my soaps so creamy. It's so easy to use and store.
  2. I use this too and anchor with a bit of patchouli. It sticks like crazy. I use .8 oz ppo and then a dropper full or more of patchouli.
  3. I believe it can as I purchased one from a seller on Etsy. I hated the stuff. It left my hair so dry. It felt like straw. The product had some wonderful reviews. It also contained some form of salt. My scalp and hair hated it. Ann M
  4. When I make emulsified scrubs, I do not factor in the sugar as part of the formula. I also use a combination of ewax, stearic and cetyl that add up to 20% of the formula. My formula is something like this: 20% combo of ewax, stearic and cetyl 10% butters 40% soft oils 27% hard oils (coc 76, pko) 1% preservative 2% fragrance I then add my sugar once the mixture has been blended to be nice and creamy. I use just under 50% of my total weight in sugar. So if my formula makes 50 oz, I would use around 20 oz of sugar ( combo of white and turbinado). This makes a wonderfully creamy scrub that washes clean every time. Ann M
  5. I love Daystar Vanilla Cookies. It's a dupe of BBW's Vanilla Bean Noel. I love the buttery caramel vanilla notes! Ann M
  6. You can get it online here http://www.cattlestore.com/p-1002-farnam-pine-tar.aspx Ann M
  7. This is what we used too on our son when he was little. Nothing else worked as well. I was even able to find a generic made by CVS. Same formula as Eucerin, but much cheaper. We also only washed with Cetaphil and took the shortest baths possible. In the winter, baths were only every couple days, with just sponge baths in between. The water made his skin so angry red. I would give a quick bath, slather him in Eucerin and then put on 100% cotton pj's . Any polyester blend made his skin worse. Good luck. It's a long battle. Ann M
  8. I have used Scent Works and Nature's Garden and really like both. Ann M
  9. I have 2 of the 9" and really like them. There was a definite learning curve for me as my soap would stick like crazy in these molds. This caused me to rip one of the sides. The mold still works really well with the rip. I like them so much better than my Uplands since the Silvermoon as nice and thick. Ann M
  10. I have done RTCP quite a few times with mostly good results. It doesn't work well for me when I want pretty light and whispy swirls, but it does work well when I am doing a simple layer and can afford for the soap to get thick more quickly. I put all my hard oils into one pot and pour the hot lye over them. I let it sit for a few minute and then take the stick blender and gently break up any chunks. Once smooth, I add in my liquid oils. It does speed things along really well. I can get a batch finished in less than 30 minutes. Yet, for tricky fo's or delicate swirls, it doesn't work well for me. Ann M
  11. I have found like some of the others that TD can really heat things up and can make the soap overheat. It's even worse with certain fo's. I don't insulate with any blankets or towels when I am using TD or I might cover for an hour and then remove the towel and let it do its thing until morning. Sometimes the crackle effect can be pretty cool, but I prefer nice whispy swirls! Ann M
  12. I have done 2 already and have one more this weekend. I usually only do 3 and it works out well. Ann M
  13. Hmmm. I have soaped this at least 5x and never noticed any difference. It's still the same consistency as other fo's I soap. It does not appear softer to me at all. I do cp so maybe that is the difference. Ann M
  14. I use Stevia Suspension from Southern Soapers. It is Stevia Leaf Extract combined with Organic coconut oil. It works great. It takes max 1% and a small bottle lasts forever. Ann M
  15. I have ordered a few FO's as well as the premixed liquid TD. Great customer service and quick shipping. I would order again. Ann M
