jade
I'm thinking of purchasing shea butter from bodybuttersuplies.com in North Dakota. Wondering if anyone has purchased from them. TIA
Candybee
No. I buy mine in bulk from Soapers Choice. Sometimes I buy it when it goes on sale at Essential Depot about once or twice a year at 5lbs for $10. Its the best buy I have found and stock up.

Does theres have a heavy odor or do you buy the refined ?
TallTayl
No membership required. I use refined and never notice an odor.

Candybee
I've used both refined and unrefined yellow. The unrefined yellow has a slight pungent odor that reminds me of burnt tires. But once its saponified no scent remains. Also, the unrefined has all the nutrients that refining takes out. But I tend to buy the refined more often because I like my butters white. The Essential Depot shea butter is a very pale yellow but doesn't have any odor that I remember. If it helps I can't tell any difference from one shea to the next when it comes to soaping. They both impart the same properties to the soap. The soap with one will feel the same as the other.
