  1. From my last searched through the forum, no one had a dupe for this BBW scent. I was in their store yesterday and saw it and remembered how much I absolutely love that scent! Anyone find it this year? I don't want to spend $15 on a candle! :S
  2. I've used Aroma Haven's Amish Quilt and Amish Harvest and they blow the doors off the house!
  3. More different scents, I love the pine, apple, vanilla idea. Stuff like that! I'm not quite so sure my market here as I haven;t sold here yet. Probably a younger crowd though. (30's...) I've got a ton on hand (amish harvest is my #1 seller for sure) but am willing to purchase oils! Thanks for the replies! I'll check out the other thread. Wish this kid would have a longer nap for me, LOL!
  4. Ok, so I'm looking to make little giftable containers of 'scoopable' melts and want to have 3 scents per set! I need some good scent combos! Would be Sept (if I'm ready on time) & Nov fairs.
  5. Yes to bonfire bliss! I love it. It's a little a nice mix of man with a feminine mix. I love, love it! My melts didn't last long! I should have saved more for me!
  6. My must haves are amish quilt, black currant tea, dream catcher smells amazing though I haven't put it in wax yet. there's a cinnamon baklava that smells TDF though I haven't used it in wax yet either!
  7. Hmmm, now I'm so confused, lol! I had pretty much settled on the combo ones. Ack. I wish I had an idea of what sells here.
  8. I know, I tried looking a few times, but I have no idea! LOL! It's driving me CRAZY!
  9. Maybe I'll buy 1 oz tester of each mentioned! It was love at first sniff! LOL! I'm so sad my cheapness won out! I should have just gotten it!
  10. I was in Winners (do you guys have Winners in the US? It's like a Marshalls, I guess...) and there was a Yank. Candle. I cannot for the life of me remember the name. There was only 1 and it was white. It was this fresh, clean scent meets mildly floral (I hate florals, typically, but this was just lovely!) I had it in my cart but then decided it was dumb to get a candle when I make melts! A few days later, I went back to get it (lol) but it was gone! I went into a Yank store, but couldn't find it! Anyone have ANY idea? It was amazing! Also, are there any dupes for 'soft blanket'?
  11. So I'm planning for a show in November. I am getting ready to place an order from candle warmers (Well, the canadian wholesaler anyhow!) and I'm curious what is good? I've used/sold the full size melters and the plugins. I'm definitely getting more plugins, but was curious about the warming plates/combos. I've ordered supplies and I am going to start making some wickless jar candles to use in a crock/lamp/plate...what do you guys like? I haven't used any. I think the combo ones would be great, since they can be used with my melts too...but then there's the plain plates and you could sell the little cast iron pans (ok, they are so cute! LOL!)....or the crocks (which are pretty cute too!!!) I'd love to order a bit of each to see what goes, but frankly, that's not in the budget since you have to order mins. I'm waiting to hear what they have on hand (I can buy singles if they have some dropped orders in the canadian warehouse) but won't hold my breath for anything... So yeah, what have you tried/what do you like? :embarasse
  12. Ah, too late, I wish I would have heard of the bamboo one, that sounds nice! I ordered a few, including their new sample pack and the Dreamcatch one! Can't wait to sniff!
  13. I have been away for TOO long! We did a HUGE cross country move AGAIN! God help me! Anyways, we are getting settled and I'm going into withdrawl and need to order some scents and get back into the game. I don't have ANY summer scents, really. I guess I'd consider fall too, though it makes me sad, LOL! Anyhow, I would LOVE suggestions. I'm really bad at picking floral scents because I typically hate them! I'd love some baking lovers floral scents (something that isn't going to hurt my brain while pouring) and anything 'different' but lovely. Also, any good vanilla suggestions? That's what I was asked for at the craft fair last year and I didn't have any!!! This is a huge scentsy market here that I plan on taking over. LOL!
  14. Thanks! I definitely will! I like it too much to quit! LOL!
  15. I haven't been on in FOREVER! I actually haven't even melted before last night, in a long time! Crazy. We found out we are moving across the country so I listed all the bears I had (wax dipped of course), online. I put them at $10, so not really making much on them. Maybe $3 a bear. Anyhow, I've sold all of them, made another 14, sold those all and have people BEGGING me to make more! I had one lady grab FIVE today, and messages me for more!!:tiptoe: the dollarama has lovely Russ bunnies and some cute lambs and chicks, for $2 or $3 each. I cleared them out (this is what my last 14 were made from. My originals were first & main) so I have about another dozen to do, which are pretty much all spoken for!! I wish I had listed them in November, I just didn't for some reason! (I was initially selling them for $15 at the craft fair!). So, frig. Just as things are getting great, we are leaving!, my regular customers for melts are stocking up, LOL!! It's been a whirlwind!
  16. I ended up doing a small show here. It was a 'giftables' fair. The girls were super nice and looking for a few extra vendors so I thought why not! I have had a bajillion people testing out my melts and have heard rave reviews, so I took the scents that I knew were killer. I had a bunch of dipped bears and some melters too! I did plug in melters in gift boxes and the small ones sold out! I did 18 X the table fee! You don't even understand how hard I researched how to have a nice table. I didn't even take a picture (boo!) but I made DH make me some shelves and I sewed a table skirt. I worried so much about that and you should have seen 98% of those tables! :rolleyes2 Rags!!! So much for me worrying about not being nice enough! I looked like a luxury booth! LOL! The best thing I've done is getting those local testers! I had SO MANY PEOPLE say "Oh, you're THAT girl!!!" and tell me they had been to XYZ's house and smelled my melts and so on! It was great! I sold out of tons. I actually panicked Saturday night because I basically had scraps left! :embarasse Thank god it wasn't too busy Sunday. I still did decent with what I had left! I had quite a few of my testers come and buy 6 clamshells at a time! Amish Quilt was gone in 2 hours!!! I also did up tiny sample packs (about .5 oz per sample) of Amish harvest with my little label (I should really take a picture! They were so cute!) and handed them out to random people! I know that is a killer melt, so I'm sure people will want more! The Scentsy girl bought my melts! I've had a few people ask me about soy melts and even the Scentsy girl told me I should get into it because she's asked all the time about them. I will definitely try. I know soy is more picky. I have stuff here, but I'm not sure if it's the best for all soy melts though (464 and the advance blend, I believe I have). Anyways, it was great! I feel great! It was fun and it was nice to make some cash! Now...I have to spend some of that cash on more FO! :lipsrseal
  17. Mine is not heated. How hot should you heat it? I am currently using blends using 4786, 4627 and 464 (not necessarily all together!) in various quantities. Mostly 1/3rds 4786 with less 4627.
  18. I'll try heating to 200. I get scared to heat that high, lol! I feel like the wax will burst into flames or something! LOL
  19. Now that I have some more time to post, one less whiney baby and a real computer, I came back! I have had tons of testers. The ones that get back to me (GRR, the ones that haven't!) have had some that burn for a couple days. I've had a few recently (Pumpkin Caramel Latte from Peak, Winter Snowberry, I think it's called, also from Peak. Monkey Farts didn't last too long in my house, haven't heard back from testers. Even homemade apple pie, from AE I think, seemed to taper off after a few hours. Although I haven't heard back on this one either). I'm wondering if I'm doing something different now. I have my presto pot (without spigot). I heat to the same temp, ladle into my pot and stir in FO immediately. I heat to 185, typically. I wonder if I can market these to those who have short attention spans? LOL!!! I'm burning my tried and true Amish harvest right now, calculating the time and am going to burn my new batch made with the presto tomorrow to see how it compares. I might have to start wearing a nose plug while pouring.
  20. Why do some FOs lose their scent so quick? My last few have been really good CT, even amazing HT but only last 3-4 hours on a candlewarmers warmer. I'm puzzled. I'm testing a new batch of Amish harvest which was a winner previously, so we will see if it's just since I got the presto. I'm heating, adding at the same temp...I dunno. I'm stumped!
  21. I'm going to dip him tonight! Amish harvest for sure! I should take a Pic of the gang, lol! My table is covered in wrapped up bears, lookin pretty snazzy!!
  22. I've had a girl (who sells mineral makeup and has been testing for me) ask me to set my table up near hers. LOL! I'm super nervous. I've never done anything like this before!
  23. I think you're right. I'll just dip the poor red guy in Amish Harvest. Worse comes to worse, he can hang out in my bathroom!
