  1. I hope this is ok and doesn't come across spammy, but I work for a company that sells coconut related products and my boss asked me to find some coconut inspired products to offer at our high end events. We need them to be stickered with our logo (though we're not claiming to make them by any means). Something great quality, with a fast turnaround time (and the ability to do a lot, if required, possibly on short notice). Anyways, when he asked me to look into coconut oil related products, my first thought was etsy, and here....I learned so much from here, I would love to help 'pay back' the community! Warning: My boss is a PITA but it would be super fun! Please , please let me know if this isn't allowed. I just knew you ladies work hard to perfect your products and we're obviously very concerned with having something GOOD! You can PM me or email me directly at jmccutcheon250@gmail.com Cheers; Jessica.
  2. The plug ins are fantastic. It's the full sized one, mainly with the squared tops that I was having issue with! I ordered that one for my next show. It's super cute!
  3. It's craaaazy. I saw like $40 for a sample size of Chamomile (which would obviously be great for sleep). Holy smokes. Maybe I'll do a lavender EO bear since I have some and don't use it often but jeeze, I don't know how people use EO for anything other than personal use! I can always make note that I can make them with EO's but that there is an extra fee.
  4. Holy smokes, after seeing the price of chamomile EO, I don't think I could sell a bear for less than $50! LOL! I knew oils were pricy but holy smokes!
  5. I'm going to be adding some scent sachet stuffed animals soon. I'm about to order the plush but got thinking; would it be better to use essential oils or do you think fragrance oils would be fine? I know EO's would jack the price up since they are expensive but I'd willing to do it if it's better. Anyone know if the big name uses regular oils?
  6. I have been thinking about trying my hand at making lip balm and maybe eventually bath bombs. Wasn't sure if they would be weird along side of my melts though. At the same time, it might be nice to have a little something for the people who aren't melt lovers... I'm trying to talk myself out of it because, in all honesty, the melts are an expensive enough of a hobby! I just sell at a handful of fairs a year and whenever from the house.
  7. Weird question! Will the oil seep out of play dough or would it be ok? Anyone have any idea?
  8. That is so awesome!!! I've had a couple people ask me recently if I'd do one. Did you offer any hostess gift/bonus or anything? I was thinking of offering like a percentage for the hostess back to use to shop. Maybe 10% or something...
  9. OMG, little toilet bombs you could sell in cute little tubes, aimed towards new couples who are embarrassed of going to the bathroom with their significant other around would be sooooo awesome!! I know that's not the direction of this it's but I could totally see my 18 year old self wishing for one! LOL
  10. Winter wonderland is great, I agree! Cracklin' birch, cinnamon & Spruce, Christmas Cabin Sugared spruce is nice I'm totally blanking.... Vanilla bean noel or Mrs Claus' cookies are amazing. Island Christmas is a really popular scent for me.
  11. Pics, the label, the design of the site. If it's on etsy, it has to be able to grab my attention from the small pics for me to click on it. Something different.
  12. The peach one was great! I just don't know how much space she's expecting to scent with a small plugin??!!
  13. Has anyone else had issues getting good throw/lasting time for this one? I wonder if maybe it's just where I bought mine from. (NG). I think the first time I got it from AH. I got great strength and throw last year but this year it dies out quickly. Not doing anything different from my other melts. I wonder if maybe this is one of the oils that do better with less per lb?
  14. I make melts, this wax is definitely too soft to hold shape. I did try to re-add some oil just for kicks to see what would happen and it's the same. Ah well. Tis the season for fire starters! LOL! I needed to make some more anyways. I'll have some brown sugar and fig and some apple pie ones! Maybe I'll grab some pinecones, make them cute and market them as room scenting fire starters.
  15. I always dump my hot wax off into an old vegetable tin can! Easy because you can tip it upwards to meet the melter and then I use that wax for fire starters when I have enough!
  16. I had a great pumpkin latte from peak. It's a dead ringer to b&bw. It's very nice. I just had an amazing 1 oz coffee. I think it was called coffee house from AE. It may be one of their newer coffee scents as it was in a sample pack they do. It was really good. Also a dead ringer for b&bw's, LOL!
  17. Yep, I usually make only a few of a new scent and test/send out to testers. I was in the zone and making a million and just had at it! That'll teach me! LOL I do use paraffin! I think I have both hot baked and dumpling! So far I like dumpling the best!! I actually almost didnt pour it because it wasn't fantastic OOB, but I'm so glad I did! It almost wasn't very apple from the bottle!! It's pretty close to what I'm looking for. I just want a bit of a Granny Smith apple (a good tart apple without being that cheap apple scent) with they perfect spices. I might have to Bland my own when I have some time and need to place another order?
  18. Can you just pour it off when melted?
  19. Wow, I had a lot of respect for the person at fault initially for owning up and really hoped the best for your shop. Now.....Well...I don't even know what to say! Would it really be so hard to remove the labels or clearance those out locally or something and design your OWN? I'm sorry but it's FUN to use your own ideas from your own head. It's one thing to be inspired by something but to outright copy it, owning up and then recanting???! Shameful. I'm sorry Suzy. I'd be beyond pissed. It's one thing for the big guys to do something so sickening but for fellow crafters, I think it's awful. We should be supporting each other and not pulling crap like this.
  20. I agree, I had to sit on it a little while before replying because I was a bit caught off guard!!! I told get to try reindeer poop, which she bought and I know is also a super strong throws and has great longevity. She lives a bit out of town but in going nearby on Friday and if there's still an issue, I'll just refund her and pick up the melts. No point in having any bad blood this early in the game!! Eta: she seems like her attitude is better, so we shall see!!
  21. Very sweet! I would love if my kids got something personal like that! So heartwarming to know that they spent the time thinking and creating the gift! <3
  22. They (the wall plugins) have bulbs that can be changed, right?! I assumed that she was talking about the wall plugins, but now I feel like a dink! LOL
  23. So I made a fairly sizeable batch of a new hot apple pie scent. I don't usually make a hefty batch without testing it first but it's a popular oil and I thought it'd be ok! D'oh!! I could have mis-measured the the oil, I'm not sure. Something went wrong! The CT is great, almost NIL HT unless you sniff over the bowl. Can I remelt it to past the flashpoint to burn off the FO and then add it again at a lower temp or would this be pointless? I wouldn't sell that batch to the public but it's an awful lot to turn into fire starters!!! I would dole them out to my MIL/Sister/Friends and use them myself if it ended up ok. I know it would be obvious if there was too much FO, as it would just settle to the bottom of the pour pot. If that's odd, I'll just turn it into fire starters. I do need to make more anyways and heck, the CT would make them a good sell! My quest to find a fabulous apple scent is a tough one.
  24. Her initial message was "I find that your scents don't smell as strong or last as long as some the ones that I typically use.....how come?" I don't know why she would have to go through 2 melts in 2 days burning in a plug in. I have had one of the ones she is complaining about on for about 12 hours over 2 days and its still really strong. My sister uses a scentsy warmer and used the other scent she complained about and she said it was great. Obviously something isn't working on her end. I don't know. I have a tester who uses a plug in bulb in a full size warmer and was getting 30-40 hours per cube!!! So, it's not like it's just me going by my own word, ya know??! I asked her if the cube is fully melting. I did offer to bring her a single cube of Amish Quilt to try, since that scent lasts forever and will blow the doors off your house. Then I would kind of know that it's something with her set up, though I assume that's what it is now anyways.
  25. Thanks! I have to learn to turn off my emotional side. I think when you put so much into something, it's hard not to take it personally. I'm going to have a friend test these out in her plug in to, just because I want that peace of mind. It's funny that you can have 100 good reviews and 1 bad one, but it gets to you so badly!!! :S
