  1. Yes sink holes around the wick and also in other places the candle which never did it before...a couple more around the tops even around the edges... I've made candles for 10 years with this wax so I know the correct temps and I live in S.F. where he temps are quite moderate my apartment around 65 degrees....we have an Indian summer... it is behaving differently...I've never ever had a sink hole once before with this wax... so all elements are the same... you do have a point on suppliers going phalate free... but I have been good about using those types of fragrance only as well... so once again... i think it is something to do with an additive in the wax or something in this mixture lot that someone miss calculated... thanks!
  2. Hi there... I don't have the box for the Ecosoya 135 anymore so I don't know the lot #... and these are the same wicks and fragrance oils that i have used before that worked just fine...so it is something about this lot of wax. It also burns different it creates a hole around the wick and collapses right away... never have seen the 135 do this in many years of using it.
  3. Hi Laura, I've been using ecosoya but the 135 container blend for many years and am having trouble with the recent batch as well. My boyfriend puts it in the drawer for me and he even noticed that it looked and felt different this batch is very oily. It is producing sink holes and not working with the wicks that it usually works with. The candles are extinguishing themselves within a couple of minutes, tunneling .. it is horrible. I am terribly frustrated and called them.. of course they are suggesting different technics but i know that is not it. I've been working with this long enough to know that it has to be a bad batch of wax. I have a new batch coming this week and pray that it will be okay as I have many orders and it is holiday time for us candle makers... why why why and why now!! CRAP!!
  4. I must have a bad batch of Ecosoya 135... I've been using this wax for about 8 years and know which wicks work with each candle that I make after many times of vigorous testing. This batch is greasier than usual and has been forming sink holes on each pour which I never have had happen at pouring at low tempertures. The candles that I have made from this batch that have always worked are now extinguishing themselves and dropping a big hole around the wick So frustrated and upset as quite a few of these have gone out to new potential clients:angry2:
  5. this has been a pain to wick, i use hardly any scent only 4 grams for a 4 oz candle, barely any color..... cd's haven't really worked well, lx's are mushrooming like crazy now curing the eco 4....hope the eco works!!
  6. I know it is such a bummer...from what I understand they will not be bought out but will only selling in (25 pound drums). There is 1 oil in particular that I love which is Grapefruit Cassis... I so wish I could get my hands on it.
  7. has anyone tried candlewic's grapefruit or grapefruit blackberry, if so do they come through soy okay? thanks, ellen:)
  8. that is great to know, so you were happy with the hot throw.. that was one thing that i saw from another tester, they that said the hot throw wasn't as good? you might really like the cdn wick.. it doesn't curl as much... so you may want to try the cdn 8 for that size... just by nature sells them...
  9. that is just what soy does... nothing to worry about.... soy is not perfect nor should it be... all part of the soy experience...
  10. good luck and please let us know how you like the scent throw on this wax both hot and cold.. i am currently using ecosoya 135. have fun!!
  11. I agree with soy 327... try the cd 7 or cd 8 for the jelly jar... I find those to be the best in soy and soy blends.. I also like the cdn wicks they do not curl over as much and work well in soy blends... i use the cd and cdn 8 wicks a lot...
  12. for the jelly jar and the eco wick I would try the eco 4 or eco 6 and for the lx wicks I would go with a lx 16... for your 4 inch diameter you might have to double wick any thing over 3 inches in diameter is usually a problem with 1 wick in soy.. you may want to try 2- lx 12's or 2 lx 14's
  13. I have found that cdn wicks work very well with ecosoya 135 and rarely if ever mushroom for me, I do like the cd's with certain fragrance oils such as vanillas because I find the cdn's do mushroom with vanilla oils. One thing I really like about the cdn's is that they don't curl over and fall into the melt pool like the cd's sometimes do. I find if I wick down with the cdn's i am usually very happy with them.
  14. the cdn 14 actually burns slower than the cdn 12 you would have to go up to a cdn 16
  15. They are so pretty!!! I love the colors!!!
  16. yes you need to wick down with the cdn's. I go down about 1 size. I love these wicks they burn great and rarely shroom and don't bend over into the wax like the cd's did.
  17. Yes they were the best.. I used to get her blackberry sage so yummy and better than most
  18. wow how beautiful!!! I have to say I'm a little jealous.. I can never get swirls like that no matter how hard I try.
  19. great sounds good, thanks so much
  20. thanks, do you know if it performs well in soywax?
  21. thanks i've had such good luck with Peak's oils
  22. Hi there, I'm looking for a good true berry scent. No vanilla or bakery types that are so sweet like that. So far I have blackberry sage from Peaks which is good but want to know if you know of some others. Thanks!!
  23. yes I really have to wick up. I have found with ecosoya 135 the cdn 12 works pretty well with a moderate amount of color and a 2.75 diameter
